A nice example of quick fire button pressing by Mike Gamble there in the announcer's booth. Mic shut off + globe cut + anthem switch-on ... all within the space of about 2 seconds. Dexterous.

The days of more sedate and clearly spoken presentation. And only 3 channels. A kind of slower paced era compared to today's in your face style. I was 19.

Weather forecast could be for 19 March 2024! Perhaps the BBC should just do repeats. 😊(Note, when we're mbs dropped from forecasts?)

I would have been not yet eleven and in my last year at junior school back then!
