On a black background, hear chimes as we see a superimposed text saying "This auditorium is equipped with a THX Sound System." Then, the background vertically splits into a cloudy red/black background. We then see white text that says "The Audience is Listening". The background slowly turns blue, with the text disappearing. Then, a lens flare appears, causing the clouds to disappear with THX logo appearing and rotating 90 degrees in front of the camera. "LUCASFILM LTD." and "SOUND SYSTEM" fades in above and below the THX logo. On the DVD version, the trailer's black background has no text superimposed over it, until at the point in the theatrical trailer where it would say "The Audience is Listening", whereas it says "Best Picture. Best Sound.", then fading that text out and fading in "You're watching a THX Certified Feature." The rest of the trailer proceeds as normal. Notably, the colors are less saturated compared to the theatrical version.
I recorded each speaker on my phone and edited/mixed them in GarageBand for iOS since I didn’t have any audio editing software to extract channels from a stereo and or surround audio file. Thank you for asking.
Funny you ask that, because Christian made a video about that trailer last year on march 30, 2020. It was only the second THX trailer in separate channels video that he made at the time. However, he's afraid the video will get taken down for copyright. He showed it to his parents sometime last year and they said the video probably shouldn't be uploaded.
