When I pressed the LinReg(ax+b) option, it didn't give me the screen for putting in where to save it. It just calculated it without asking me for any data pools
This is a feature called "Stat Wizards" which is available on some but not all earlier versions of the TI-84, you can look for it in the MODE menu or in the CATALOG. If it is not available on your calculator you simply enter the arguments at the cursor separated by a comma.
Hii. I have this old model of calculator but when I enter the menus like the 4:LinReg (ax+b) menu in CALC it doesn't show the settings of the lists and instead it shows a kind of configuration for the menu and it makes me write everything and gives me an error. Do you know why is that?
This calculator actually is not the best choice for statistics. If you do multiple statistics problems, cumulative error results. This is even after clearing your lists. The only way I have found to correct this is to reset the ram. The only problem with that is then you lose all your programs and data. I would not trust this calculator on a statistics exam.
I dont think there is a specific function for that! Yet just look for the value that appears most in the data set and that will be the mode! - Hope this helped
There is no symbol on the screen for Mode. But you can go back to the main STAT screen and use the SORT(A) or SORT(D) feature to sort the data in a particular list either in Ascending order or Descending order. Once that is DONE, go back to the list and it will be sorted. Then just scroll down the lost and count the one that appears the most times.
which of these would show variance? my teacher taught us that variance was s^2 but that is not written anywhere in the TI-84 calculator for the 1-var function.
Diagnostic on can be turned on in the MODE function; if you use the catalog you can access directly to it by Judy hitting the letter and it will go to that start - in this case just touch the letter D
