Found this while having fun with my old calculator :) Just FYI, some of the functions work while directly inputting them as text, no need to go to the menu. For example, to convert to degrees from radians, you can simply type ">dd" (where > is the arrow, the 2ND of MODE). This also works for >DMS, but not for >RAD for some reason...
Doesn't the "DD" (when converting from say, radians to degrees) mean "decimal degrees"? I think that's why TI displays it as "DD" instead of just "D" for degrees.
is there a way to add, subtract, multiply and divide Degrees, Minutes, Seconds on the TI89 Titanium? I had to buy this (i love my old 2003 89) and I'm trying to make it through Machine Shop. I've forgotten most of the high level math I learned in college before I left to join the army, currently teaching myself again, and I may have hit my head too many times as well LOL. I know vet's that have had to relearn basic math as well. I will be finishing my mech eng degree(entering in junior year), and I'm taking machine shop first to pay for college when the GI bill runs out. (need a job, disabled, walk with cane). Any help learning functions on this new beast of a calculator would be great. Right now, I'm working with DMS, specifically as stated above. Thank you! God Bless.
I dont have ▶Rad function on my TI-89??? Maybe old firmware, its says OS version 3.01, 10/7/2004 Edit: I just updated OS, it now has that function, updated to OS latest version 3.10, 2005 made.
