Watch Tia Clair-Toomey and Brooke Ence blast through today's CrossFit.com workout of the day. www.crossfit.c... The CrossFit Journal -- (journal.crossfi...) The CrossFit Games® - The Sport of Fitness™ The Fittest On Earth™
what i have found while watching the documentaries and am in love with... is that all these people competing against each other are also so damn supportive of each other.
Crossfit competitors remind me of what gyms where like back in the 80,s and 90's , E We all used to hang out and talk , eat , train together , become friends etc... Now days people wear headphones and ignore each other , it's shit ... But Crossfit people communicate , form friendships etc... Its old school and healthy for people and communities. ✊
Brooke needs to work on more efficiency in her movements... Tia looks so smooth even within transition she is awesome... I am rooting for Tia and Sara... if either one of them can take the games this year I would want one of them...
@Toversnol your grip is supposed to be like that with a front squat so you can keep your elbows up. its called clean grip. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tW2H0Ib_hQw.html
I don't understand why CrossFit gets a bad rep.. yeah those pullups are kinda weird but the other exercises if done properly are low risk high result types.. this circuit looks like a drag though 7 minutes and the average person is throwing up..
we do kipping/butterfly pullups to get the most amount of reps in as little time as possible. We do strict pullups to build strength for aforementioned pullups. People and their "not a single pullup was made" don't understand CrossFit. They and their cheeto dick don't need to, tho ;)
Thank U very much for ur explanation of the differences. I'm always trying to tell people who don't really get the fact that these are different movements from their regular Pull-ups and hence the reason it has a different name. I think some of these people think that people who do cross fit can't do regular Pull-ups when in fact most cross-fitters can do better and more regular Pull-ups any day. Be open to learning new things and it'll only help make your training sessions even more enjoyable.
p0ddie I know how pullups work, doesn't help that the average person would think they look "weird" or think you are "cheating" that's the perspective I was ushering out.. because it's the average person who pokes fun at CrossFit or vegans without understanding.. this was one of my first actual CrossFit videos I've watched but everyone vid is like parady CrossFit that's why I started I don't see why CrossFit gets a bad rep.. maybe it's the people who do CrossFit that give it a bad rep 🤔
I don't think the average person...even someone in decent shape can just do many of the CF exercises with good form and consistency and avoid injury. Most of the competitors are pretty young and you still see them taped and nursing an injury more than you should. This is not a contact sport, there should be minimal injury...and done with proper weight and form these exercises can be done that way, but often get pushed out of that zone.
Tia is just on a different level than Brooke. I’m kind of amazed at how much media attention Brooke gets as she’s only been to the Games once? I guess it pays to be married to a CrossFit media guy!
I'm so fucking puffed out after watching that .... My back legs and arms where shattered just thinking about the pain they must be enduring . Hats off ladies !!
This is exactly what I was thinking. Brooke has so much reach while Toomey is shorter. Limbs not as long as Brooke's IMO, unfair challenge but no one is gonna talk about that. Either way, both are an inspiration.
What were their weights at the time? Brooke looks a little heavy so she might have actually moved more weight in the same time period or come closer to a tie if you just count calories burned. But Tia kicked butt :o)
