I can't be the only one who is enjoying this new lease of life with Stephen Hendry? He seems like he was born to host and talk to guests. Very chilled, calm and keeps the conversation flowing. Great content!
Stephen Hendry has single handily rekindled my love of snooker after a 15 year hiatus. Ever since finding this channel last year I've just gotten more and more in to snooker again, watching games, old clips, classic matches etc. Even thinking of going to my first live event. This man is such an asset to snooker and one of the best ambassadors the sport could ask for. Love your channel Stephen, hope you're enjoying it as much as we are watching it. Take care.
I only really started getting properly into snooker this year, this channel has been a huge part of that. Hendry makes the snooker world very approachable
Xin Nian Kuai Le to Tian Pengfei. Nice to see a conversation with one of the Chinese snooker players. I met Ding a couple of times when I ran and promoted the 2006 Amway National Teams Championships in Shangahi, just as Ding was becoming a big deal in China. Shanghai TV and CCTV broadcast it to about 20 million viewers.
Did he say its a John parrot cue? I'm a bit deaf and can't quite make out what he says and the subtitles are w@nk on this vid lol. No surprise there!! 👊
True , bring Thep,Not a disgraceful convicted cheat like Higgins! Brought the game into disrepute .Why he got only six months is a travesty of justice ,and Lee 12 years. Will never sit right with us genuine snooker fans!
@@jameswoods-td8el Higgins failed to report a corrupt approach and there's no evidence that he actually engaged in match fixing. Lee on the other hand, threw at least half-a-dozen matches in a twelve month period. That's why he got a 12 year ban while Higgins got one for 6 months.
Gotta _love_ when English speakers comment on how other people speak their _one and only_ language.. Ps. English is my 3rd language, after Danish and French (and before Dutch and German), and it's the simplest language of all..
Your channel is amazing, Stephen. All of your videos are interesting, especially this one. It's amazing to get an insight from a Chinese player living and practicing in the UK. Each one of your videos is a must watch. Long may them continue. ❤
SNOOKER HAS BEEN STEPHEN HENDRY Awful role model and human. left wife and kids of 20 years for a tart 20 YEARS younger. Born tart. left them in the lurch when they needed the coward the most. F.SH 👎👎👎👎👎
Yesss I love Tian! Big Bird is a big player who comes to life on the big occasions. He does himself a disservice too when he says he was ranked about 48 at his best - his high ranking is 41 so far. If he can find consistency from one season to the next, that'll change very quickly though!
Another interesting video! Didn't believe Stephen when he said Ding didn't used to have that double pause timing but my god he's right. Just watched a video from 2005 and he went thru in one motion. Still he must have had it for quite some time now because it always caught my attention. Only time he doesn't do that nowadays is when he uses a lot of power. In that case he basically has no pause at the back at all.
@WAYNEANTHONYHOLMES The greatest man to ever pick a Snooker cue, without doubt now, not after this 41 ranking titles.and 23 triple crown titles. Well he wanted to do 8-8-8, he’s two thirds of the way there! Come on now for an 8th World crown .Lets go GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I think both should be allowed to be called the GOAT, Hendry's domination in the 90s and very early 2000's (Hendry beat Ronnie in 2002 World Championship) and Ronnie's domination for the last 15-20 years with better players. People forget that Hendry didn't have many tournaments so makes me wonder how many centuries Hendry would have made if we had this format back then in his prime. I didn't watch Hendry in his prime unfortunately.
@@dgeneratio1 2004/2008 WSC SF..RONNIE beat Hendry like a dog 17-4 & 17 -6 .Hendry fan girls never talk about that but going and on about one match 2002 haha! Hendry goat of luck lucky to be playing in a weaker era. Ronnie never fluked titles!,and then Selby is 2nd best not Hendry,Hendry 5th after Higgins the cheat and Williams. According to standards. Ronnie. Selby.CheatHiggins, Willo. Hendry That's the correct order! 🐐🐐
I like him especially he knows to ask some good questions back at Stephen, like who's favourite for the world, Ding's cue action. Excellent interaction between them there!
What a thoroughly brilliant Bloke tian is. Tbh i haven’t really seen him play that much apart from the Welsh where we got the semis last year. What I lovely guy. Can’t wait for ding and Jack lisowski 🤞
I enjoyed this. Hopefully there will be more Chinese players on the channel. I don't know how much English they know, but I'd like to see Xu Si, Fan Zhengyi and Si Jiahui interviewed.
@user-uc6vs9wf5b GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan beat Princessyips aka Stephen Hendry the goat of luck like a dog in the two most important matches 2004/8 WSC SF.. 17-4 & 17-6 The dog and goat of luck Hendry went home crying like a dog with his tail between his legs .He also beat the goat of flukes Judd like a DOG at the World Grand Prix finals The GOAT of luck Hendry 🐐The GOAT of flukes Judd 🐐🐐
I have watched this Ronnie win tournaments many times and each time I saviour it more. Ronnie is definitely in a class of his own and it has shown in the 2022 Championship
The dedication of the chinese players to the game is incredible I can only imagine how hard it is to leave home at a young age to go a country so radically different and being unable to speak the language .
It is a shame that in the UK its hard to find places to play whereas in China they are in walking distance from anywhere. But i have noticed over the years that any american pool tables from the clubs have been disappearing as the sole focus is chinese 8 ball. I have been playing chinese 8ball for about a year pretty regular now and i can see how much i have improved on cue action and accuracy thanks to this game.
His English is seriously impressive. He's practically fluent. Probably difficult to feature many Chinese players because of their limited English, but no such worries with tian
I sometimes wonder would I have got really good if I'd actually been able to have any access to a decent table growing up. I loved snooker from about 6 years old but only got to play it maybe once a year at most and that was at some really seedy dives with tables that rolled off, had holes in them, chipped balls and my dad hurrying me out because proper dodgy gangs would come in. Ronnie's dad just bought him a pro table as a kid. If I'd been able to have one, I'd have been on it day and night. The ONLY way to get more super talented players appearing on the circuit is to provide young people with access too good tables in decent places where they feel safe and can get on with learning and practicing properly.
Great conversation as usual. Would have been nice to hear Tian's thoughts on the match fixing scandal pertaining to the Chinese snooker players, but guessing that presents quite a quandary for Stephen being employed by World Snooker.
Hi Stephen loved the video today. I found it interesting about cues and the one you use. What sort of oz Is your cue. Is it possible to do a video on cues which would be very interesting. I guess it’s a personal preference on the oz you feel better with. Keep the videos coming thanks Tim
Its a shame the disgrace and cheat Higgins can play and not Lee. Higgins should be banned for life and stripped of his titles! Ronnie beat Higgins like a dog most times including in finals! Haha! 🏆
@CHARLOTTEGAYMCNAIR-rs1cd dude do you even know the story? 1 went through with cheating one didn't. John never once agreed to fix matches Stephen did and actually followed through. I suspect your hating on Higgins for 1 of 2 reasons either your a rangers fan or your English, stop being jealous.
I'm not sure whether Stephen noticed this, but apart from the 2nd pause that Ding has these days, Ding doesn't pause for power shots anymore unlike in the past where he would.
@@PointNemo9 Apparently he's the gang leader behind the match fixing scandal with the Chinese players forcing them to cheat. Apparently Ronnie was involved in some matches too, but he went under the radar. This is inside information. I know some triad members.
When you use a trace/touch of helping side, do you have to make the adjustment and allow for the deflection and throw of the cue ball or just go for the aiming point you chose as if it was centre ball striking? Please guide.
Suggestion! Please do a podcast style talk like over a table or couple of chairs. Honestly playing snooker kind of distracts from the candid conversation.
You have a Blue Diamond which was considered a hard tip, Elkmaster being a bit softer, you also had/have the blue velvet, which was the softest, but it could rip/fall apart with heavy use. I still use an Elkmaster, the blue diamond feels like a lump of concrete to me.
Stop this nonsense. You're just trying to get people worked up and start arguments. I don't understand this mindless fanboy intolerance you people have with O'Sullivan and Hendry but regardless who you like more you're acting like children about it.
Check out the luck he had in the Grand Prix final. If there were a tournament of flukes Ronnie O'Sullivan would also win that. The luckiest player of all time 🏆
Stephen please try your best at the world championship qualifier's. It will be tough, but if you get to the BBC TV 1st round you will be headline sports news. With huge audiences and you might get far as you will try hard.
