What I don't understand is, why are the other animals playing instruments? Louis was alone in the swamp for a reason because none of the other animals were like him. If there are so many animals that can play then, according to this ride, he should've had a band already before he met Tiana and Naveen. Speaking of which, is Naveen even in this ride? I don't think I saw him at all. The animatronics aside from Tiana look great thought, very animated, but honestly, Tiana doesn't look right.

You know when there is a crazy popular song, you hear that song over and over and over and you start to hate it? That's how I feel about this ride. It's just not that great to be played so many times.

The rides animatronics are looking 20 years old already.

Since Disney felt that Splash had to be rethemed, they should have kept it a mountain and made it into a Moana ride and possibly a volcano, or even a Pocahontas attraction which actually makes perfect sense around a log ride in a mountain. Then they could have eventually given Tiana her own original ride without the limitations and obstacles they had to try and overcome, trying to fit this forced storyline into a preexisting attraction that just doesn't fit.

Pretty obvious, after watching this video, how much better this attraction is at NIGHT.

We can agree to disagree on the theming, story,... but these technical issues sure seem objectively alarming. Yes, we can repeat "it's just rehearsals" but given Disney's track record of not bothering to fix things after official opening, this ride might go downhill fast.

I don’t understand the consistent boat backup at the block points. I’ve never rode this ride before and had the boat stop at each point like that. It seems to really break the ride experience.

None of the animatronics are working but as long as the okra moves Disney is satisfied.

Does anyone know if they have a "B mode" for any of the animatronics when they break down in this attraction?

After regrettably losing Splash, I had high hopes for this new ride but unfortunately, I feel that there is a lack of suspense in the storyline as well as the new music falls flat and the Imagineers totally missed the mark for this. Stick to the original story and plot, keep the iconic villain with the music and songs we already know and love! It's getting universally panned everywhere because it is not better than the previous ride, nor even equal to Splash Mountain, and it is essentially a downgrade for most. This new upgraded version of Wilderness Explorer Tiana gathering vegetables and spices feels like a very bad sequel of Living With The Land that we never asked for or wanted that eventually goes straight to DVD or Disney+.....

WDW News, The ride from the outside looks so much better at night. Louis and Mama Odie already not working. Really this newest ride at the Magic Kingdom needs a lot of help. Cheers, Chris Perry.

So accurate that it reminds me of the tall mountains in the bayou of Louisiana. And why let Tiana have her restaurant and enjoy being a princess when you can get rid of that fancy dress and crown, slap some khakis on her, and put her back to work right? That animatronic looks like it belongs outside of a used car dealership letting you know about a labor day sale with all that wacky arm flailing. 0/10 Bring Back Splash Mountain

In Splash Mountain it often didn't matter if a figure was working or not because it was kinda simple. I really hope they considered the longevity and the fast water moisture enclosed environment these would be operating in for years. It is lovely at night though.

Tiana animatronic body isn’t moving in the finale. Well, they really have a lot of animatronic maintenance issues at launch. Doubt they will tend to them.

Louis mouth not working, half of the ride breaking down...Yep! sure is a 10/10 ride... but in all seriousness though, rehearsals or not the animatronics are breaking down 24/7 on a Ride that's not even opened yet. Many missed opportunity's like adding Dr. faciliar in the ride would've been Sick af, but they can't cause Disney is too scared to use a villain who uses voodoo, Its apart of the film like, wtf Disney!? Don't get me wrong though the animatronics and outside exterior look really good while the rest is.... Meh. Worst thing is that tony Baxter backed out of this, which is no wonder why. I don't Really hate the ride that much but it kinda is bland since the story is confusing, ride breakdowns, etc. Hey Disney if you wanted to make a good re-theme, maybe you should just stick with the original story of the film, add the villian to the ride, Keep the thrill more sinister like it was in Splash Mountain, and maybe Just maybe that would've won me over but only we can dream.. Edit: Oh yeah how can I forget, there's a literal salt mine joke at the queue, So let me get this straight, You called Splash Mountain problematic because it was based off of a "problematic" IP, But Its all of a sudden fine when you put a *REAL* problematic situation on the re-theme? smh Disney.

Wish more Disney rides were longer. Many new ones are sub-3 minutes, just like hit songs in the 1960s.

at 16:43 u can see that there stuck in there idle phase (its where the idle phase is when its waiting for the next ride to show up) BUT at 25:55 she was broken i think or power downed but you should also tell cast members this so they can fix the issues. (EDIT) Tiana at 17:08 IS ALSO IN HER IDLE PHASE XD but yes always tell a cast member so they can fix the issue.

Anyone else find it odd that most of Disney's new attractions / lands at WDW are designed so thoroughly around night lighting? Pandora, TRON, (to an extent) Guardians... Don't get me wrong, in a lot of cases the nighttime lighting packages really do elevate a ride to something special, especially TRON, but when the vast majority of the operating day is in daylight, it feels like a bit of a waste sometimes. Those sunset and night hours are extra magical, but kids will be tired and parents probably want a resort dinner and to go back to their hotels. Granted, the fireworks and night shows keep people in the park after dark, but when people try to get their spots for the fireworks at sundown and most of the guests leave immediately after the show, the best time to ride any of these at night is after the fireworks, but usually the park's not open for very long until close in that window, not to mention that a number of these attractions use the virtual queue, so you don't really get to decide what time of day you're riding in to begin with. I felt like I got the jackpot when the sun was setting while we were in the queue for TRON last time I went. That said, the night lighting isn't just for ride atmospherics, but for area ambiance in their lands. Just entering the TRON area in Tomorrowland at night is magical, and heck, even the classic Adventureland attractions look charming at night, so having this add light and life to Frontierland at night is a benefit for all park guests, not just riders.

Ruined Splash Mountain

I've give it this much... It didn't get better, but it didn't get worse. Sometimes a ride re-imagining gets way worse. This is simply lacking here and there. The colors and lighting are amazing. The detail in the queue and exteriors far surpasses Splash Mountain. While we lost a classic "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" song, at least we didn't get a ride song by Randy Newman. We broke even.

Every ride tends to have flaws at the beginning as they are still working things out. Flaws are discovered through use, and what initially seemed ideal may not be now. It's a normal process, and over time, the ride will become flawless.

Take an old house and replace the furniture and call it a new house. Seems legit to me to call it a new attraction.

Keep the ending / maybe the begging. All animatronics & graphics are AMAZING! - middle needs to be for Dr. Farcile

The animatronics look great. Not in this video though because here they're all broken, but I mean in the 10% of uploaded POVs where some of them kind of do; they look good. That doesn't make it a cool ride though. Splash Mountain had old, unimpressive animatronics and that ride was the best ride in Disney. I am entertained by the fact that this was uploaded regardless of the failed robots.

As a fan of the original Splash Mountain, and critic of its demise I can say that I approached this ride with both excitement and animosity. I was pleasantly surprised when I rode it. Could there be areas that could be improved, sure. But it rides much better in person than on a screen. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia carrying it but my kids and I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to get another virtual queue Monday. I won’t ever agree with cancelling Splash, but this ride is still fun and entertaining despite the reasoning for its creation.

God I feel bad for the imagineers who worked on this. I’m sure they did their best and wanted to do more but execs didn’t give them enough resources. Honestly if you wanna be mad at Disney they’ve done much more egregious things recently ie the Epcot overhaul, dismantling das, cutting down on live entertainment, etc.

I do think that this ride will be down more then working. Just saying. 🤷‍♀️

Broken animatronics. Terrible Music. The projections of Tiana and Louis when you’re tiny are terrifying. The frogs playing drums need their hands and mouths to articulate or move a little. It’s creepy and the little young bear in the middle is creepy AF. WTH Disney!? Where is Dr Facilier? Where is Raymond? Why not a reference or stars depicting him and Evangeline? And I’m confused, are there two Tiana’s in the final show scene? Absolute disaster. And it’s better at night time by design which is the dumbest thing ever for a ride you get wet on. Oh yeah, it’s more racist now… slave worked salt mine. DISNEY FAIL and Tom should be less passive about it. I know his standards are higher than this.

What happened? I hope this is not a waste of money? Fix those animatronics.

Damn it all started with Louis’s broke mouth, this is truly the snap on the camels back for imagineeing, now I’m truly worried for the result that will be Musical Jamboree 🫤 Edit: Musical Jamboree was actually pretty decent, maybe certain imagineering teams still got it

Only watched different videos, but Im relieved. It could have been so much worse. It actually looks like they really thought this through, lots of easter eggs and a good back story. Bravo to the Imagineers. Cant wait for this to come to Disneyland!

What a gorgeous redesign! Personally, I'm also a sucker for 1920s New Orleans theming and music, but set dressing, colors, and energy are fantastic! Yes, the ride had a lot of errors, and the stationary Mama Odie was baaad, but I think people are letting nostalga for the old design color their view a bit. Log flume rides are genrally really hard to time, and it's not uncommon for dark rides to have timing issues if the boats miss their first mark. And with this many moving pieces, some are bound to run issue. If you watch a Splash Mountain ride through carefully, you'll see a lot of error there too. Especially towards the end, riders would see lots of stationary figures and darkened show scenes.

After riding this ride today. It’s incredibly equal when compared to Splash Mountain. People here forget how empty half the scenes were in Splash Mountain. In Tiana’s not only are the set inarguably better looking, there’s always something going on with great looking animatronics. It’s honestly really fresh. Happy it’s finally here. It’s going to be a smash hit

I am sorry for saying this but this is a worthy replacement for splash mountain. Now before you all chop my head off here’s what i got to say. I haven’t ridden the ride yet (most people complaining on the ride more than likely have looked at one POV and never actually rode it) at first I was very skeptical but then I looked at the whole queue and ride again. I realized that this is what everyone wanted Disney to do. New original characters, new original songs, and new animatronics. The deatil is absolutely amazing and the whole vibe is supposed to be a joyful, not to be taken seriously ride. It will be very enjoyable for everyone.

This ride is a masterpiece of animatronics, music, and color. People gotta quit bashing it with these clearly envious, racist, and Splash Mountain-biased criticisms
