WHAT IF, and stay with me here, I know this is crazy. What if Splash Mountain was good AND Tiana's Bayou is good?? They can both be enjoyable. And you can still miss the old ride and appreciate the new ride. I miss the hell out of Great Movie Ride but I cannot deny how great Micky & Minnie's Runaway Railway is. Things change. Nobody has to like it, but you'll enjoy your life a lot more if you learn to accept it.

Im not sure why Craig is so bullish on the umbrellas/shade. It can be done. My family and I just got back from RCI Cocco Cay. The pier is nowhere near as long but they have sun sail canopies lining the walkway. Extremely helpful.

I know we all have opinions and not saying mine is right . But I really feel like it would have been amazing to have the voodoo and shadow man take you to the “ other side” then you escape as you leave the mountain .

I’ve seen this show and WDWNT compare the complaint that Tiana’s doesn’t have a good story to Disney rollercoasters that don’t have good stories and don’t need them- it’s a complete false equivalency. Those rides are 100% thrill rides, very short and very fast- they have a job and it’s a different job than a Splash Mountain/Tiana’s Bayou. Tiana’s is a rather long and slow log ride which means the story is everything. Disney is supposed to be the masters at making something that could be mundane absolutely next level. This is the expectation based on the ride’s predecessor and based on the Disney standards (at least the old ones). I have not seen the ride in person so while I’m rather disappointed in much of what I’ve seen of the story and of the failed mechanisms of the attraction, I will still ride it and try my best to enjoy as I LOVE the film and the music. I might even love it. I’m just seeing so many influencers belittle the opinions of fans who are frankly expecting more, BUT It’s fair of people who actually have rode it to request that we all experience before we get out the pitch forks. So, respectfully, appreciate your fair view points as always.

Mount Driskell in Louisiana has an elevation of 535 feet in the hills of North Louisiana, to people from New Orleans that is really high and really hilly. LOL.

I did two Passholder previews yesterday and today. Yesterday was a hot mess. Too much downtime, both waiting and on the ride. Today was much smoother. I noticed the rabbit and bear in her office in the queue. The Luis backside was a nod to Brer Bear. Lots of kinks to work out but it was cute. Not up to how much we loved Splash, but cute. Too sparse in many areas and wish it was with Dr. F, but nice. I will be in DL for the 70th, so I am interested to see if their version improves on some of the issues here. Epcot is so "college campusy' now. Not a huge fan. Thanks guys for a great report.

Wish I heard more about which Disney island you guys prefer if you were to recommend one to a family who is booking a Disney cruise where most itineraries do not visit both islands I understand opinions are very subjective, but so are opinions on food which you guys do and I trust you so I would like to see each one of you give your opinion on which island is the better island that Disney visits Castaway or Lookout Cay. ❤️

I don't think it is fair to compare right now until it is finished. Right now I prefer Castaway because it has age but I might prefer Lighthouse in 5-10 years when it has time to mature.

I think the criticism of the story is less about the lack of story but that it is inherently compared to the story of the movie. Princess and the Frog is a beloved story and that is really what leads people to be less excited about the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure story… You mentioned Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Jungle cruise not having much story last week. Those rides didn’t have a prior public perception to compare to…They are establishing something that had never been seen or heard and therefore the public had no preconceived notions of what to expect. The story in Tiana’s is up against its own namesake of Princess and the Frog, which is a juggernaut. I look at it less about the comparison of Splash vs. Tiana’s and more about Princess and the Frog vs. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. And in that way it seems a little lesser than the movie it’s based on.

It’s a slow moving log flume ride, not a multi-act play. I don’t think anyone is seriously trying to compare it directly to a feature-length film. It’s more like how Frozen Ever After is to Frozen-it’s not meant to be on par with or replace a literal movie, it just expands the story in such a way that can bring guests in. Though I guess some people are still upset over the Maelstrom re-theme too, so maybe that doesn’t help as much as I’d like lol

@@cheyennemarie7075 Totally agree that is what WDI was going for and in that way I think they did a pretty good job creating something fun as a follow up to the plot of the film. However you could argue that Tokyo just did the opposite with Frozen and actually retold the story in arguable one of the greatest attractions the world has ever seen in Fantasy Springs. So while I get your point, and I think Frozen Ever After is a successful retheme, seeing a retelling of the story in the Tokyo version is mind blowing and vastly superior to the WDW version.

The ride is not better or equal to Splash, period. The silhouette of the mountain is now a green blob, the story is boring, the amount of times the characters say boy they can really play is ridiculous, there is no lead up to the drop, there’s too much empty space, and the music isn’t as good as Splash. Tiana should have gotten her own ride somewhere else. We shouldn’t have had to lose a classic Tony Baxter attraction for this

The video showed a lot of Disney decor and Disney merch, and it is an area of somewhat “untouched” nature, so sorry you can’t see a Mickey shaped sand dune or wave every now and then. Perhaps they could provide more photo ops or small Disney touches such as Disney doorknobs, buttons, etc. That music idea of Disney songs in the style of the local people is perfect. I also loved that story of the little girl and the headband and participating in the dance/parade - so sweet.🥲🥰

Surprised they don’t have something like fly bags to draw them away from food and then have covers for the food. Fly bags make a huge difference. If you have a few flies vs hundreds of flies then that’s a win

Thank you for your positive and realistic reviews!! I’ve been thoroughly disgusted with the Disney fan community’s negative reactions to all of the new attractions and island. I feel like everyone wants to complain before experiencing it for themselves. Obviously there is room for constructive criticism and improvement. The salt mines are underground they are below sea level. Salt domes are geological structures underground. So you would go down to go into the salt mines.

My only complaint about Tiana’s is the “Tiana’s Food” sign. I wish it said “Tiana’s Garden” or something. It’s so silly but every time I see the sign in videos it irks me. 😂 Y’all do a great job and I appreciate how authentic the reviews y’all give are. ❤

Craig should be embarrassed and ashamed wearing that hat. Not only is the ride boring, which is the majority of opinion, it has a major racist reference. Disney shut down Splash Mountain because of complaints it was racist, which it was not, then jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. The salt mines on Avery Island were worked by slave labor. Apparently with all the research that Disney supposedly did for this ride, they didn't realize that. There are several honest and impartial youtube videos that talk about this. Don't be Disney suck-up shills, guys. Ditch the swag bags and tell the truth.

I just know I can’t recommend lookout cay over castaway. I don’t go till next summer so hoping for lots of improvements🤷🏻‍♀️ They could have saved it for me if that first family cabanas was serenity bay….why did they do that 🤦🏻‍♀️

Probably going to catch flack for this but Hannah’s constant interruptions and little comments every two seconds…😒 We know and appreciate that she’s there but sometimes it feels like she gets paid based on every word spoken.

Absolutely love these hosts but have to agree about Hannah's incessant chiming in (I am learning to stop doing this as well.) I still enjoyed this podcast overall and hope she can avoid this in the future. I truly am excited to hear more from these three and will recommend listening to others!

I know she’s probably excited to be there and probably the kind of person that needs to get things out as soon as she thinks of it. I’m like that too sometimes. It’s just the talking over someone to agree with them (does this a lot too) but you lose what the other person is saying at times. Also she tries to complete the other persons thought and at times she’s way off to what the other person means. Over time as they are together more they’ll get to that point of how Ryno can finish Craig’s thoughts or meanings and be spot on.
