In this Rise of the Floodborn Lorcana Gameplay video, I show how I design a Tiana deck which aims to control the opponent by locking down their ability to play actions and damage our characters. I then proceed to show some lorcana gameplay on pixelborn.
I hope that you will enjoy this rise of the floodborn deck and give it a try. It is a fun and good deck, with a fairly consistent gameplay that is well adapted for a variety of matchups. This deck is likely to be part of the lorcana metagame and join the rank of competitive decks.

It is nice to see some variation of a Saphir deck that doesn't play the classic Gramma Tala, Mickey Mouse Detective and Hades package!

Yes! I tried to keep the ink costs lower to enable Tiana and Beast's Mirror. It turned out pretty well I think!

What are your thoughts on the Resist Mechanic? So far, I have been quite impressed with how powerful it is.

@@alfredosaint-jean9660 It makes sense conceptually as a steel mechanic, but it feels like Steel is getting all the good stuff! In particular, steel has the counter mechanic to Grab your sword and TinkerBell.

I was looking for cheap-costed cards as much as possible, with shifting potential for 3-Tinkerbell / 2-Cinderalla. I'm not too high on Winnie The Pooh either.

I’ve been theory crafting a deck like this since Tiana was announced, but didn’t realize how powerful Mouse Armor is and that helps so much! Brings it from a side ‘for fun’ deck into an actually competitive deck. My brainstorm version runs 4 beast mirror and 4 fishbone quill, to be able to draw an extra card and ink anything every turn. I didn’t include the Tink package or Captain Hook so definitely lacking on removal and instead focusing on Develop Your Brain and now that new Sapphire ‘Nothing to Hide’ to focus finding the perfect plays. I seriously hope they add a floodborn Tiana or other cards that have effects based on being handless to really let this shine, especially against the new discard deck and to hard counter Prince John

Getting another 'no card in hand matters' card would be nice to push the deck theme and power level. Fishborn Quill is an 'ok' card that is very costly to play. It costs you tempo by skipping a 3-drop and requires more cards from your hand to ink. I would recommend cutting at least some of them. Belle Stange but Special does the job really well without these concessions.

Awesome deck and video, can't wait to see a Tiana deck XD, i think Tiana would be good in a low curve rockstar deck with very few uninkables to lock the mid game

Tiana/StitchRockstar seems like a nice combo. You also have access to Simba+Prince as good bodyguards, so you can go aggressive, then lock your opponent out of answers with Tiana.

I play with about 67 sapphire caterpillar is a sleeper. 3 inkable with 3 lore is a gamechanger. Finally a 3/3 card. I took my tink out. Rather have 2 cost Aurura with 2 lore. I usually play in a group of 4. I'm excited. I like grab your sword over smash. Does more damage. Especially if you sing a song and then play a tink. A couple "nothing to hide" 1 inkable show me your hand plus I draw a card. Played that yesterday. Everyone was like 'what is that", and you draw a card. They were not happy. Then Te ka gains 2 lore banishing characters. This is going to be fun.

Nice! Thanks for your feedback The caterpillar is a decent card that could be quite threatening with the mouse armors. Nothing to hide / Pawpcicle are very good can trips that are nice fillers in most decks. I chose not to play Grab your sword in this deck to avoir the expensive uninkable preventing me from using Tiana's ability.

Have a Green/Steel Tiana deck list for you check it out 1 Fire the Cannons 1 Captain Hook Jolly Roger 4 Pain 3 Panic 4 Strength of Raging Fire 4 1 drop Flynn Rider 4 1 drop Tiana 4 Tiana Princess 4 Prince Eric 4 The Prince 4 Lawrence 4 Sudden Chill 4 Smash 4 Beast Hardheaded 4 Beast Selfless Protector 4 Giant Tinker Bell 1 Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo 3 Lucifer With every character played with 3 will power or more the deck allows raging fire to kill any one once you want a threat gone Tiana Princess by turn 4 and you have no cards they can't play actions - And with the discards by Lucifer and Sudden Chill they must top deck - With Bibbidi Bobbidi you can re play Lucifer, Tinker Bell, Tiana or get a combo back in Capt Hook or Panic and Pain Hope you like the deck and you can get to play it - Would love to see it

I like the idea of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo with Lucifer. The cheap 1-drops with Raging Fire to empty your hand and apply pressure is a good idea. I'm not a big fan of going Tiana + Discard. Tiana gets cards stuck in your opponent's hand, but then they throw them away to the discard.

@@GeniusYoshi even if they get a card by top decking once you play Beast Selfless he absorbs all the attack - But I can see you swapping out Tiana for 4 of's Bibbidi Bobibbi Boo and 4 of's Lucifer - It's just another new idea I haven't seen and The 1 of's of Capt Hook and Fire the Cannons can help too with 4 of's Bibibbi Bobbibi Boo too with Pain and Panic a lot of things with this list - Whatever mix you come up with though look forward to it - Great streams! All the best

I’m thinking of running this at a win a case tournament this weekend (pulls dependant) but now the last of the cards are revealed is there anything you would recommend changing? Or even a deck you feel is better ?

My top 2 picks of competitive decks at this time would be Amber-Steel Songs (With a splash of updates from RotF), or a Prince John Amber-Emerald discard deck. There is an argument for playing what you know/like best too.

There are a few characters that I would try out in the deck. In Sapphire, the new Alice looks pretty good. Noi, Orphaned Thief with a Mouse Armor is a good threat. In Steel, the new Legendary Beast is pretty strong, and a couple of Benjas as flex spots are very good. Off the top of my head, these are some of the cards I would consider. I think that the deck is good, but not as imposing as the other two decks I mentioned in the reply above.

Great, thanks for the advice. I was using Amber steel song decks earl in the last mega and left it behind once everyone jumped on and switched to mill. Like you say, what you know best is probably the way to go and while mill isn’t considered top tier it’s served me very well in league with a 21-3 across the last 6 weeks

The advantage I seen to this deck is that I assume a lot of discard is going to be floating around this weekend and a lot of damage then ready beat etc. this deck seems built to deal with both as I don’t want cards in my hand and resist will keep the splash damage at a minimum

Mouse Armor is one of the cards that impressed me the most. Having the flexibility to give +1 resist to any character is very good.

The deck is already playing a chunk of the Rise of The Floodborn cards. Looking back on the list, I think that it is still fine as is. I might play a couple of Benjas, and try out Beast, Tragic Hero and Alice, Growing Girl.

You need to update your images download link from the discord channel. They should be available in your collection if you enable the 'future sets' filter. You can play with those cards in lab mode.

I was hoping I wouldn't get called on it 😅. I tried for multiple games and it just never happened... and I ran out of time, but still wanted to post the decklist and thought those games were still fun. I hope that you enjoyed the deck and video anyways! ;)
