Seems from my point of view there seems to be amnesia or denial amongst tibetan concerning the reality of life under the monks in old Tibet a brutal feudal system were any serf who dared leave the land would be dealt with either through torture maiming or death with these heinous act committed by the monks on behalf of the landowners who bankrolled the monks lifestyle life was brutal and short for the serfs of old Tibet

interesting point, have heard about the isolation of monks and nuns pressing down their natural desires, still getting nightmares, demons.. as body has it's own needs.. and the illusion that there is only harmony and peace in monasteries.. still they all need support..

Pro-CCP people love to point this out ignoring that the CCP now wants to take an active role in the choosing of the next Dalai Lama, something they did with the Panchen Lama, in spite of the fact that China describes itself as an atheist state (it is an oxymoron for an atheist government to partake in a religious process, nonetheless reincarnation), I guess China now sees the advantages of this system? Plus the Dalai Lama has no political role in the Tibetan government-in-exile, since 2011 the leader of the Central Tibetan Administration (Sikyong) has been elected.
