The tibia and fibula bones make up the anatomical leg, which is the area between the knee and ankle.
These bones are classified as long bones, and the are part of the appendicular skeleton.
There is an interosseous membrane that connects the tibia and fibula bones. It adds support, stability, and separates muscles from anterior/posterior sides of the leg.
Tibia Anatomy:
Intercondylar eminence
medial condyle
lateral condyle
articular surface of medial condyle
articular surface of lateral condyle
tibial tuberosity
anterior crest
medial malleolus
articular surface of distal end of tibia
fibular notch
distal tibiofibular joint
Fibula anatomy:
head
proximal tibiofibular joint
lateral malleolus

Hi Nurse Sarah I hope you’re doing well. Is it possible you can do a video on Nutrition I am having trouble figuring out which foods have sodium and potassium magnesium etc there’s lots of questions that always ask about what foods to avoid and I never get them right. Also do you do Mental Health the class is very challenging for me and you’ve helped me so much with medical surgical nursing. Thank you so much in advance. And you are doing a great job because of you I am receiving 90s on my exams. 😇

Love the info. I broke my tibula and fibia last year in a bad car accident . I too almost lost that leg.. Over 6 surgieres, and permanent titanium metal plates screws and nails later..as well as 2 trials of infected hardware.. I'm only 23 and standing today.. God is good but the pain isn't tho it's temporary, it'll still be forever ♾️ . Stay safe out there everyone

Same I'm 19 years old crashed and broke bones if you don't mind me asking what are you doing for your income now I can't work or breally walk its been 6 months since my surgeries

This was extremely helpful. I couldn't understand any of the different parts of these two bones but the video and the quiz made me understand it right away!

Watching your video from the doctors office now I broke my little hammer on my left leg. I fell off the ladder about 8ft and all the weight went straight on the heel. They can't believe i didn't have a back or neck injury. I'm lucky😊

Came here because I have broken both of them with dislocation and tibia is comminuted. Got IM rod inserted. Love to know more about my body.
