Tic Tac Dough (CBS, Syndication), "Crazy Fun"

This video collage that I made is from the game show, "Tic Tac Dough" that aired on CBS from July 3, 1978 to September 1, 1978. The Syndicated version ran from September 18, 1978 to May 23, 1986.
The hosts were:
Wink Martindale (1978-85)
Jim Caldwell (1985-86
The theme song (supposedly) is called "Crazy Fun" by Hal Hidey.
From 1:21 to 2:00, the following 7 pictures are of Thom Mckee, the biggest winner on Tic Tac Dough who won 43 straight games for a grand total of $312,700 back in 1980 (today, those winnings back then would be nearly a million).
The status of the CBS version is uncertain. It is believed to have been destroyed (except the first four episodes), but the syndicated run with Martindale, and later Jim Caldwell, is intact and currently held by Sony Pictures Television/CBS Television Distribution. Reruns from the Martindale run aired on CBN in 1984 and on the USA Network, while reruns of the Martindale and Caldwell runs appeared on GSN (The Game Show Network). Martindale reruns also appeared in prime-time on WOR-TV New York in the mid 1980s, starting with the first syndicated episode.

"Crazy Fun" by Hal Hidey. This is a terrific theme to TTD, not that disastrous theme Henry MancinI created for "Tic Tac Dough '90". Mancini's last television theme felt more like a Saturday morning cartoon show about a princess in a far away kingdom, not a theme for a game shoe.

Interesting fact - the famous Tic Tac Dough gameboard ran on 9 Apple II computers and displayed various contents (category, X, O, bonus numbers, amounts, TIC, TAC, dragon, as well as custom messages and an active screensaver) in which the Apples were linked to an Altair 8800 machine and a custom console that controlled it all

The best Tic Tac Dough host was Wink Martindale, hands down! he could eat Jim Caldwell and Patrick Wayne for breakfast and spit them out! The Good: Tic Tac Dough 1978-85. I personally think him leaving the show was a mistake. Headline Chasers wasn't successful at all and without him, this show went downhill quickly. And aside from High Rollers, Trivial Pursuit and Dept, he really hasn't had much success with other shows afterwards. I sometimes can't help but wonder if this show would still be on today with him hosting it (like with Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune and Alex Trebek on Jeopardy until he passed away).

@DorvellTStewart I had heard that Al Roker and Tom Bergeron were seriously considered for "Price Is Right", but Roker couldn't get out of his contract with "The Today Show", and Bergeron couldn't get out of doing "America's Funniest Home Videos".
