The beat is upbeat but the lyrics are so not, I hadn't realized that when I was in middle school listening to it and loving it. I understand how you felt and I had felt the same things too

dude, i havent listened to this song in what? 10 years? but as soon as it started i remembered all the lyrics naturally. ocean eyes was my favourite album as a kid. music and memory are crazy, crazy things.

Years of listening to and loving this song I've only now realized there are TWO voices! It's not just Adam that's singing even though they sound VERY similar... What the heck?! Everything I knew is a lie...
