Thank you. The only stupid question is one that is not asked. I actually had the same question several years ago when I first started using Navionics maps. I Googled around and got several different answers before getting the right one from Navionics themselves: *_The pink/purple birds/ducks indicate different types of marine sanctuaries or estuary area zones/nature reserve areas. These can be environmentally sensitive sea areas or areas with minor restrictions and/or information notices. The same icon is used in the NOAA (government) charts: _**_nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/publications/us-chart-1.html_**_, (found in section: N Areas, Limits)._* However, they were not clear on what sort of zone they represented but most of Moreton Bay is a Marine Park zone of some sort. Inside the no fish areas you will see fish symbols with an X through them mixed in with the ducks. Not very obvious unless you zoom in.
