I recently ordered the Gen 2 version from Amazon and they are giving me a shipping date the first week of August even though they are "In Stock". 🤔

mine is due july 26th the package with 2 batts spkr mic 2 ant I was told it does receive airband also ?

I had the same experience, low audio when doing radios checks and checking into nets. Brought mine on Amazon, it was listed as a Gen2 TD-H8. The Gen1 had they same issue and was supposed to have been fixed in the Gen2 version. The Gen1 was also a dirty radio when checked on a spectrum analyzer, recent spectrum purity tests by the regular Ham RU-vidr's like "The SmokinApe", shows that the Gen2 is still not clean. I sent mine back to Amazon for a return/refund. I had high hopes for this radio because power output tests showed that it was actually putting out the advertised 10W on VHF and UHF... haven't seen any other Chinese radio do that.

I thought it did have usb c ? Seems there’s more than one version of the h8 and it’s potluck what you get…

So is that the version that Amazon is calling the “Generation 1 updated”? Supposedly for $20 more you can get the gen2 kit which has a truly upgraded speaker and comes with two usbc rechargeable batteries. Both generations of hardware take the same firmware.

I bought one on Amazon and i could tell right away it was used as it had no protective film on the screen,the battery was already installed and the bluetooth was already turned on but i thought i would give it a chance,i turn it on and set it to unlocked and put in the MURS channels so i can use it at work,it's working fine so i turn it off,i get to work i plug in my earpiece and when i turn it on i hear this hideous ticking,very low volume in the background it drives me insane for four hours,i head outside to do some stuff and about an hour in i start feeling some serious heat on my hip,this thing is getting seriously hot,i turned it off and contacted Amazon and started a return and replacement,a few days later i get the "NEW" one,well not exactly it's exactly the same,battery installed,bt turned on and no protective screen,so before programming im wondering i plug in my earpiece and turn it on and there it is the hideous ticking,lets just say i was shocked,i contacted odmaster support and inquired and they ask me to send them a video of the issue so their tech can figure it out,so as of right now i sent them a return email 2 days ago and havent heard back yet. I really like the radio but that ticking has go to go. Edit: There is no ticking coming out of the speaker,just when you plug in the earpiece.

I really wanted to like this radio. I also had the low audio on the mic. What really bugged me is when I put it on the TinySA.

I just got one on Amazon gmrs version and I can use the unlock settings on power up

Can I use this to scan railroad channels?

That emergency siren can be reset to site in settings and it will still alarm but will not transmit siren over the air.

that's an awful interference when you key this radio making a high pitch buzz in the audio.. thx for sharing, i just took it off the list of low cost radio i was looking to get
