I love when you do these types of comparisons. I like to see how small differences make such a big impact. Thanks for another cool video.

These comparison videos are very much appreciated, so, many thanks for that. Looking forward to more of your experiments. I almost always DOI, and have only used a rack on a few attempts at an inclined spiral. I could never see any incline effects, so dropped that technique. Lately I’ve been stacking two spirals in the same container, DOI muck, applying dyes as I have been with just one item. The contrast between items is more extreme than I would have expected. I guess it’s almost like the top item is racked, and the bottom is mucked.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them! That sounds like a great idea to dye two shirts at once. I can imagine they do look very different though. 🙂

ouch. it's a toss up between the shirts.... i like the splits on the bottom half of the racked shirt, the saturation and blue on the muck shirt. i like both the blue and purplish color at the swirl centers of both shirts. nice job Angie!

Angie, You are my favorite teacher. I have learned so many techniques from you and the way you present things really allows me to decide what I want to do as well as determine what I like best.

Love them both but I prefer the rack dye. The more vibrant colors are more my preference.

Thank you for the video. I am trying to learn these skills and your comparison videos are very helpful. If I had to choose which shirt I liked best, I would choose the rack dyed one.

I like them both too bad there was a flaw in the one shirt, but I didn’t really see it until you pointed it out😁✌️

Showing experiments like this with just one variable is great. It gives others a better understanding about what that one difference can do when creating their own multiple variable dye artwork. Personally I like the rack (lighter) dyed one this time. The lighter blue spikes cutting across colors just seems to stand out a bit more to me than the darker spikes on the muck shirt.

Thank you! So far the rack dyed shirt seems to be the favorite. 🙂

Thanks! I preferred the mucked one too, but it would have been nice if you showed the DUI shirts to compare the results of both experiments {which means I can't remember}.
@FunEndeavors
@FunEndeavors Год назад
I thought about showing the DUI, but I used a different color palette on that experiment and so they aren't a totally fair comparison. I have a single DOI shirt and DUI shirt that I've done for a comparison. I have them washed and ironed and I just have to get the video done.

@@FunEndeavors It really doesn't have to be exactly the same, it'll just give us a reference point. Thanks again!

I am pleasantly surprised by the muck dye. I prefer darker colors, yet I thought the muck would turn out more like dirty dish water.

dunno if you can help w/ this but most of the t-shirts I dye are XL or XXL and the standard size rubber band (#19) isn't long enough to put on the wound shirt without pulling the edges up toward the center. I can't find anything larger that a #19 where I live. What size of rubber band do you use for your larger shirts?
@FunEndeavors
@FunEndeavors 8 месяцев назад
Hi! I usually buy my rubber bands in a variety pack that contains some pretty big ones. I'm not sure of the # though. I also rinse and re-use them which helps stretch them out some. I'm not sure if you have an office supply store close to you, but they normally have a variety of rubber band sizes. If you can't find any larger, you can use kite string to tie your spirals. I know rubber bands are a little easier with the spiral design, but kite string would work if you can't find what you need. I hope you find what you are looking for. I've had that happen on my spirals before and it makes it tough. 😀
