My outer tie rods on a 1999 Mercedes C230K have the threads going in from the top of the knuckle and not the bottom like your video. Is this correct for my car?
Loose or wandering steering, steering wheel not properly returning to center after turns, clunks/clicks while turning at low speeds, vibration felt through the steering wheel, pedals, front of car or even the entire car & lastly a general feeling of loose or sloppy front wheels.
when you hear a knocking sound when u turn the steering wheel is it cause you need to do this type of replacement or do you have to change the whole steering rack? Anybody know?
I own a 1999 CLK320 and i was told that the tie end rods needs to be replace, my questions is ...Front or rear inter or outer how dose this work and what the price I was quote a price of $795.00 at Big O Tires where i've always bought my tire for my car but he state that my car has a Tie Rods Kit? no such thing as left or right inner or outer I live in california
The inner tie rod ends are connected to the rack and pinion, there is a right and left and are more expensive to replace. There is also a right and left outer tie rod end which is featured int eh video, these are not to bad to replace but the car will need an alignment when done. 795.00 sounds expensive, please call around before having the work done.
The steering was making a clunking sound. In the air we can grab and move one of the front wheels slightly with out the steering wheel turning. Thanks for watching!
