After being defeated by a Miuras Mouse in FLY VS JERK 10, Niklaus Bauer went home to the drawing table to come up with a plan for revenge for FLY VS JERK 11... Well, here it is, the "Miuras Mouse" pike fly...

WIRE: Bauer pike wire titanium
GLUE: Zap brush on, Epoxy, Gulff UV resin Flexman
THREAD: Textreme Power thread 100D
TAIL CONNECTION: Fastach size 0, 3mm bead glow in the dark
TAIL: Dragon tail XL, XXL in Pink
HEAD: Bauer’s water pushing foam, Gulff UV resin Flexman, permanent marker fl. Pink and olive.
BODY: Bucktail in white, Fl. Pink, Olive, Hedron Magnum Flashabou Opal Mirage, pearl a glow white, Holo Olive, Fuchsia, Pearl/red and Super long hair holo Pearl/pink,
BALANCE WEIGHT: Bauer pike bead 0,6 or 0,8 gram

Hey Nicholas. I’m a handmade pike lures builder and a Kanalgratis addicted since saw a RU-vid video with huge pikes caught with Flatnose somewhere in Germany. I fish in a lake where they stock a rainbow trout. I am still struggling to get my first 10kg pike and are convinced that that fly would help me. Will definitely try tying it myself.

I need to win this because some of the components are unavailable in my area of the USA. Your patterns are awesome and I would love the opportunity to try them on muskies and pike.here on lake Eire and other areas of western new york. Amazing tie! My wife even commented on how beautiful it was. I wonder how something like that would work on the muskies up here in Ontario Canada! Nice work! Two questions: 1) what is the diameter of the foam disk? 2) what diameter is the inside of the tool you used to push the bucktail and flash backwards? I struggle to find tools in Cavan and former have to make ones myself.

For all the guys who ties this the FIRST time: BE PRECISE WHILE CUTTING THE FOAM!!! DO NOT SCREW UP THE FOAM WHILE CUTTING IT!!! CUT IT STRAIGHT AS A RAZOR!!! You will waste materials and your fly will not be as perfect as you want it. Thank me now, not later :)

You dont need a #10 to cast these flies, I tied 5 of them with different patterns and ofc different amount of bucktail, and the heaviest one felt easy to cast with a #9 9' Grand Daddy. Just sayin :)

I really need to get a big mama this spring here in the Netherlands,, but 50 pikes is more like a yearly quotum for us most of the time if you fish with the fly and dont fish every freaking day sadly.

Hey Niklaus have you ever though of replacing the foam disc with a bottle cap from a glass bottle of beer? I am only 3.39 into the video and am looking past my phone at a cap on my table and just though that would help sink the fly and the wavy edges might add more vibrations too.

Awesome tying skills and even better marketing team behind you guys, excellent work 👌👌, and tons of materials that will drive newbies crazy to buy to later try to chase the big one. I hate to say it, but it has to be a easier way to tie a killer fly in less than 5 minutes in 3 easy steps. One last thing, have anyone catch a trophy Pike on a 3 inches deep clouser minnow ? Or is something that no one want to take the path of simplicity to take the challenge ? Is because a massive predator fish no longer would take a 3” fly pattern because they also watch this clips? No offense guys please. Just a old school guy here, take it only as a different point of view! Thank you for let me know that tying 6 of those killer patterns would take me about 4 hrs to tie after I have all the materials delivered and few $$$ from my wallet. Just remember to support your local fly shops, they’ll be there always pointing you in the right direction and helping to protect our local spots.

Just back from the Colombian jungle I was defeated by the lure guys in my personal fly vs. jerk jungle edition. Have to tie this pattern for Payara and Peacock and go back for more jungle fishing for a revenge. Great tie Niklaus!

Hi Niklaus, awsome job to mimic the last winning lure of the jerkteam cwc. I wonder if the durability can go up by tying it on a tube? will/ can you give your opinion about that? it would be nice to know why sometimes you make your patterns as a tubefly and other times not. Awesome design and action! We have a lake near where I live here in the US with both rainbow trout and pike. Some rainbow are caught showing bite marks from the pike, so people use rainbow colored lures when fishing for pike. That Waterpushing Fly would work great at that lake here and I think everywhere else for that matter! Thanks Niklaus for ALL your work.

Great fly, I was looking for a pattern for this MIURAS MOUSE, thanks a lot. Can't wait to text that in Ireland on the lough erne :). I will be the only fly fishermen for those pikes. I use a pop cake mold (that I cut) that I slided being the buck tail to keep it into shape longer, will see how that work. BUT YES I would like to test yours in Ireland for sure :)
