Tie TV - Bauer's Pike Kicker - Niklaus Bauer

In this episode of Tie TV, Niklaus Bauer will tie a "Pike Kicker" which is a really cool pike fly with a lot of movement in the water. It's easy and to tie and works awesome with many different types of tails - Wiggle Tails, Dragon Tails, Wave Tails or regular flashabou tails.

Stunning pattern in my favourite colours . I like chartreuse as well but red or flame orange and white with something sparkly added in , is a banker colour . Well done .

I took my first fish on saturday with your fly, not a monster only 73 cm but a real pleasure because he took the fly when I do the lift before I pick up my fly for re-casting, and then the fly was really close from the surface. These small femelle do a "splash" to catch the fly. Same formula of yours except one detail: barbless hook. I don't understand why do you still use barbed hooks for your fantastic videos. Except these detail, I admire you very much MASTER Niklaus. Cheers and respect.

I fly fish, but not for pike (or perch) and don.'t tie my own flies (so can't enter the competition) but thoroughly enjoy watching you tie them.

Great job on your video's. I live in SE Alaska and I am using your pike flies for Lingcod and Sea Bass and when I get lucky for Halibut. I finaly found some of the tails but I can't find the little metal holders that you snap on to the fast attach with and I can't find any fast attach gizmo's either. I also love your flashabou carousel's that you have on your tying desk and the long flashabou. Is there a online store you would suggest where I can find these items? I am striking out with the fly shops over here. Thanks and I look forward to more great video's. Kris

I have some pike flies that i've tied on a 6.0 hook. Those where large hooks that i bought almost by an accident. I wonder if someone know if it is possible throw them with a 9weight rod, or should i go for a 10weight rod. I'm planning of getting a new pike rod anyway, so the question is 9wt or 10wt.
