Born in Taiwan, Tien Hsieh began early musical training with her mother, Sylvia. Currently residing in Folsom, CA she has enjoyed a far-ranging career with recital appearances in Hungary, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, China, England & throughout U.S. Accolades include Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Li-Ching Cultural & Educational Foundation Grant, Distinguished Artist Award from Artists International Presentations, solo recitals at Carnegie Hall, cover of Sacramento Talent Magazine & recital selected by The San Francisco Examiner’s Memorable Concerts. Recital highlights include Salle Cortot-Paris, St. Martin in the Fields-London and all-Liszt program recital tours. As a concerto soloist, she has played with Roswell, Redlands, Folsom Lake, Spokane Symphonies, Oregon Mozart Players, Manhattan Philharmonia and Houston Civic. Academic honors include recipient of the Roy M. Rubinstein award, Bettingen Corporation Grant and scholarships from Manhattan School of Music & University of Houston. Tien’s recording of Bach & Beethoven: Mostly Transcriptions 2 received praises from the press, reaching #1 twice on Amazon.com & remained best seller for 2 consecutive months in 2015.
