We think that tier 10 is a bad and boring for many reasons. Many of the points we bring up in this video is applicable to more tiers in the game. But we think it's more prominent in tier 10. @@AwesomeEpicGuys Well let's say now a days Wot turned in to a pile of garbage and wargaming looked at thoose mistakes and let them there. I moved to Wot Blitz ( Lol) because, of arty, unbalanced tanks, and gold spam. Now a quick story, My favourite tank was T62A, after all that shit, and I moved to Wotb, I saw that the T62A was actually better with 7 degrees of gun depression and better mobility. Also all tanks have weak spots.

Team Clash was good for E100. Get to the front quick, cap, sponge, spot with allies close . Much more useful than trying to hold a flank in random battles when it only takes 2 enemy to take you down with your reload.

If you're not playing at a fast hold-down auto loading heavy or medium or light tank then you're screwed. And that's the issue. All the skill has been removed from the game and it's just whoever can stab the tookie or load premium the fastest and use the meta will win the game.

Yeah bro, I'm from NA/SA server and this are the biggest problem. But most players don't care about it, they will say 3 arties are the biggest problem (I agree it's also a problem, my simple solution: decrease the limit for 2 arties). Imagine you in a server where half players usually spam gold, don't matter the tier what they plays. The premium market is cheapest for us and this give a big incentive for being a pay-to-win player, unfortunately

They should rebalance shell mechanics in this game, for instance not letting a sub caliber apcr do the same freaking damage as a full size ap. There should be some tactical decisions going on with the different rounds in this game. Maybe something like what we saw in Steel Hunt event.

I enjoy playing tier 10 personally due to it's competitive nature. To out play enemies knowing your at the disadvantage of not using premium ammo is what makes tier 10 fun for me personally. This is just how I see it as a high level player on NA.

I agree with 95% of the things you two mentioned. I'll most likely have to discuss the topics myself at a later date in a video of my own. The thing I disagree on is with the Premium Ammo Change. Yes I do think that having different ammo type with different properties costing the same is important. But if you introduce it in t he current state of the game, you will make chieftain, 279 etc even stronger. As most of their time, their armor HAS to be shot at with premium ammo to have a chance to pen em. Same goes if WG changes HE in such a way that chieftain / 279 etc get basically no damage. It would lead to such tanks becoming even stronger. WG does really need to introduce more and proper weakspots on those tanks. Lastly, the argument that the pro players don't want their rewards to be nerfed really comes from the RU Server as far as I know. I know a lot of competitive players here on EU and most do agree and wouldn't mind their reward vehicles to be nerfed!

WoT is a hugely complex game, so any significant fix would likely have unwanted side effects. A "spechul ammo" change would be an unwarranted buff to (some high performing) heavily armored tanks. These would have to be addressed/nerfed, perhaps best done as a package deal for the indirect ammo buffs. There should be less outcry among the community who love their OP toys.

@@RansomMemoryAccess I agree in the sense that whatever changes are made will disrupt something or other, and require further balancing changes. I personally would like to see gold ammo removed and tanks just balanced around standard ammo/he. You could argue it may simplify the game slightly but it may actually lead to a more balanced game. Tanks can't be balanced against standard ammo, AND gold ammo. It simply can't work

@@justjosh11 All they have to do is limit the amount of premium ammo a given tank can bring into the battle (say 5 rounds per tank, but they won't do that because money). Adding weak spots to the op tanks that can be penned with regular ammo would balance things as well. They can be small and hard to hit, but at least make them pennable.

I'd argue that when it comes to ammo (AP, SAP and HE), World of Warships has the correct idea/implementation. Balancing ships in other parameters without drastic overhauls and much more consistent.

@@misot90 yes in world of warships the shimakaze and carriers the bloody fucking carriers has gotten indirect buffs to the point if you have a MVR on your team and the enemy team has a midway your team would win cause the MVR is so op and shouldnt have a turtleback armor its absurd bullshit, I personally want shimakaze torp alpha to be nerfed to the alpha of the Holland and the MVR to have a stripped turtleback armor scheme, along with WG returning the old AA where for example a carrier was to focus a Montana the Montana would be a "No Fly Zone" but all wargaming wants is money so they wont listen

I really like the idea of a permanent ranked mode for the super competitive people. I'd even go so far as to say make it so that the overpowered reward vehicles can only be played in ranked and only tech tree tanks can play in randoms.

Many things are correct here. I got around 140 premium tanks in my garage and since this shit of power creep came. 95% of they become garbage in tier 8. And tier X omfg it's something toxic to play and more with all #gold noobs. I don't consider try hard people than only spam gold. Really skilled people never use those. Tier 8 sucks now due all new premium's than are better and also unbalanced tanks in tier 8-10. I remember when I buy my kv-5 everybody was saying was bad i didn't was going to enjoy. Well after I buy it (and was my first premium tank) i was fascinated about the tank i was enjoying it. Not was a lower or t-34 in 2014. But was something really fun and enjoying to play i was bouncing 6K DMG. But now it's a lame to use 3-4 shots with gold and you are out. And the most painful it's than you can't pen with AP. You required only gold ammo

The Problem with the special ammo is, that it is more expensive, if they're both the same price but you have the decision between premium and standart ammo it would be better, but also tanks like Maus and E100 with their useless standart ammo would have suck even more than already with the new ammo patch, because they literary have no other choice but using gold cuz they have worse standart pen that most tier 9 heavies. So, the patch would have been the opposite of a buff for superheavies cuz they'll deal less damage with premium and can't pen anything with their useless standart ammo But still most important is the price difference between standart and premium ammo, if they're the same then the damage/penetration choosing would be fine

@@hambourje Well i play the game daily, and mainly in tier 8, and for that reason i do get games with tier 10's, and i will say that about 75% of the rounds i get hit by are prem/gold rounds

I was a beta tester and have been playing the game since. Tier10 progression was just like you said before, slow and a huge grind. It was an accomplishment to finally get that tier10. I started another account a long time ago and decided just to start playing so i can have fun, not worry about stats etc and just play. The progression now to tier10 is so fast and i believe this is part of their strategy to get you to spend gold and/or buy the premium tanks. When i got my first tier10, i think i finally got my second crew skill. So now you have this powerful tier10 and your crew sucks and you don't perform as well as all those other people and posted videos. Even with the crew booklets that you might occasionally get, they only add a small percent to your crew skills. You can spend 2 million credits for a better crew book, but you need nearly 4 of those at a cost of 8 million credits to boost from no skill to 3 skill. So you need a premium tank to grind credits or buy credits with gold and spend cash for gold. You can earn gold, but it's small amounts, like sheriff kills and tournaments. But they nerfed the gold payout a while ago for tournaments and with nearly 60k games on my primary account i might have killed the sheriff less than 10 times. I have 67 tier10's in my garage, every single tier10 on the tech tree is in my garage but i only play 1 or 2 tanks. I have tier10's in the garage that have 600+ battles but yet have 0% MOE because that wasn't counted back than. Everyone fires premium rounds now and you almost need to so you can maintain your stats. I haven't been firing any premium rounds on my second account though and it's a huge difference. Some guns on these vehicles have no chance of penning the front let alone the side of a vehicle, especially at the lower tiers. The only way to get damage at mid tier for some is to shoot someone at the rear. Overall i enjoyed the analysis of your video and was well thought out.

It was only to test the concept, price changes could be adjusted during PTS. And the other thing about not reducing the price is to make people more careful about ammo choice(not really working against "goldspammers" tho).

Awesome Epic Guys: The Movie . . . . . Edit after watching the vid: I remember when started playing wot. It was back in a day when there was T30 at tier X as heavy tank. I tried penning kv1s with pz IV using 105mm AP... Of course I didn't do anything and saw them as unbreakable monsters. Then I learned about penetration, HE and weakspots. From then on I started looking for machine ports, driver hatches, cupolas etc. Nowadays you can troll ppl with PzVII by slightly angling lower plate making others shoot it (300mm effective) because every player shoots either lower plate or cupola. Then it hit me "what are weakspots in new tanks?". I launched tanks.gg like QB and looked at their models. No machine ports. No driver hatches. Nothing. Sometimes even cupola is missing. And I'm talking about lower tiers like III - VIII. It's horrible. Players don't aim or search for weak spots anymore because the game doesn't encourage them to do it. The old tanks with normal weakspots are considered bad (like amx m4 which I personally enjoyed even though the dpm as well is bad :p). Stay safe ppl.

I definitely agree with this. I spent a lot of time grinding for the type 5 because I knew that it has a lot of armor and it could block most non gold shells, but the problem is that the type 5 is always going to get put into a full tier 10 game, and when people see the type 5, they automatically press 2 and pen every single time no matter what angle your at. I never get put into a lower tier game with tanks that can’t pen me even with gold and it’s annoying

About the matchmaker: I think it's currently the best it's ever been, but why do we still have +2/-2 MM 10 years later? With +1/-1 MM a lot of things would be easier to balance - like armor for example.

@@homelessEh I never got why people complained about Mines map size and not Mines imbalance where South was clearly the weaker spawn by far. Okay, I get why people complain about Mines map size, because of the positions near spawn on both bases were able to cover 30-40% of the map from a safe position and it made the map so crammed and not fun to play. I feel like there's a "more WG" solution than removing mines for tier 9-10 tanks, that would be - giving more bannable map slots to all players.

What do you mean by current mechanics? Since the game's release the system has been designed to encourage you to have a premium account at the higher tiers. That's how this free to play game makes money.

@@leno7492 Nope. You earn cash with lower tier tanks and you don't even need a tier 8 premium for that. Or git gud enough to earn cash in tier 9 and 10. It is not impossible.

Great discussion. You touch on this briefly in the context of the Chieftain, but I think role-erosion is a big problem at the higher tiers, and its View Range that's a big driver of this. Every tank except arty can get max view range, which means heavies and TDs can spot for themselves. Likewise, lights and mediums can focus more on damage as they easily hit max view range. When every tank can hit max view range, it just becomes a mandatory attribute that every tank needs to hit now. I think it should be way way harder to hit max view range (like EBR 105 levels with 2+ equipment slots, crew skills and food) so that its actually a specialization that lights and mediums need to invest in.

The reason behind the people being upset to the changes on the "special" rounds is that... a tier 8 fighting a tier 10, need to fire let's say.. 10 times(and pen), with the new system.. they would need 20 times, or more(take here rng factor)... The real big problem for me is that WG created a spider web of problems that even they don't know how to proper fix, and they are trying to do slowly(the future arty changes that they are planning are great for example) or the maps that WG is introducing lately are those maps where every class can play(or try to).. For me, the biggest problems is arty(because is just a brainless class) and gold spam... Fixing those two, for me, is like 75% of the problems solved... the other 25% are maps and other features, but i dont mind then as much...

Honestly, WG have spun so many criss crossing tangled webs that it would be just easier to just grab the scissors and cut themselves out and start from scratch, then apologize, yes they'll lose the diehard fans but at the moment they are loosing the core demograhic which is the Casual gamer, the kind of person who'll play because they love tanks, but if the casuals are getting pushed into spending more and more time and money, most will just up and leave.

People are only shooting gold because tanks are introduced with the expectation that they will be shot at with gold a lot, perpetuating a self defeating cycle of more Prem and more Armor. The idea is for a global change of worse Prem ammo, it also needs to take apart and re-examine the balance of tanks with super armor (and maybe the maps that make it hard to flank). Then, Prem ammo will only be used as a last resort when all the other options to use Standard ammo have been exhausted, not the first and only option.

Great video, really informative and well put together! Your solutions to the problems you mentioned are great, but as you guys already said, it's incredibly hard to balance (meta) tier 10 tanks to a point where everyone can say that it's fine. Another point is that I think Wargaming should send surveys to the playerbase to ask them about their opinions about current game problems that they should fix. They did that after every steelhunter season, so that they could improve that gamemode, and I liked that way of communicating a lot. Players can name changes they want to see, what is already good and doesn't need any changes (like the HE-changes in sandbox). And the idea for seperate gamemodes for meta-tanks and super unicums is a great idea. Teamplay should be awarded, and there sure is a way to imply awarding teamplay. Also, a couple of years ago (when the WT Auf. E-100 was still in the game), there was some kind of 'domination' gamemode, where each team had to capture flags and deliver them to special dropzone's. If you didn't play as a team, you would lose so hard, can't even imagine. However, if you helped your teammates, games would often be very close and enjoyable, and the feeling that you got rewarded for playing as a team was very great. I hope they bring this 'domination' mode back permanently, where you teamplay is really needed to win, and that meta tanks are excluded of it, just like in ranked.

I really like the idea of a permanent competitive game mode for tier 10, because I think it would fix the matchmaking AND the overpowered tier 10s in one go. For exemple, I really enjoy Frontline as a game mode. I do not play it (and I don't think any Ferdinand player with a tiny bit of care about their sanity should), but it takes away so much of the meta premium tanks like the progetto, skorpionG, Su130pm, ebr, and so on, that during the event, you see some more varied and overall enjoyable matchups in the random queue. It also takes away a large part of the playerbase that uses a lot of special rounds, and make it more enjoyable for tier 6 and 7 who benefit from this as well. You mentioned a lot of good points, but as you said, most of them are either difficult to put together or non profitable for Wargaming as a company. All in all, from all the solutions that you talked about, I think (and it is my personal opinion) that this one would be the more impactful and good for the game and the playerbase ; A competitive tier 10 gamemode, with less rewards (or just more cosmetics oriented), maybe with half teams as you mentioned, in order to make individuals more impactful, but at the same time with a team based reward/progression. The biggest takeaway from this imo is that when the "clowns" are starting to talk about the issues, than you really got a problem on your hands. Personally I agree with almost everything you said. I feel the same way about tier10, have a lot of tier 10s in my garage but rarely play them, cause its usually a sh1tshow. The only thing I had problem with is the ammo balance they wanted to do. I think it would have been bad cause there are tanks that designed basically to spam gold. And there are those tanks with which you cant deal without gold rounds. Basically against those tanks you either loose some dpm and can fight them or your dpm becomes 0... thats bad I think. The ammo balance could only work if they added normal weak spots to the tanks that now dont have any. Otherwise it would make the gap even bigger. Yes, the idea with the ammo change is that since it is a global change, you're going to have exceptions that need to be individually rebalanced. Like, imagine OG Maus players when Prem rounds were introduced. Tanks got more armor when Prem rounds became easier to access. In turn, armor should be removed when Prem ammo is made worse. Also, tanks that only function when they spam gold is not good design.

Bigger maps for less players: What I was thinking is that those normal 1 square kilometre maps for 30 players are too small. View range is irrelevant because every part of the map is covered by an ally, radio range is useless, tanks can drive to the other side of the map in seconds, artillery can shoot over the entire map. That's also why a close end game with 5 tanks on either side is fun. Team clash was fun because there were only 14 players. If the maps will be bigger you would start worrying about your signal range. The cap of 445m view range could be put higher to 520, the battle timer could be longer and artillery would need to move to reach other parts of the maps. 2km×2km for 30 players could turn out very fun.

Worst thing about the aircancer change was the increased splash radius. Back in the day you could hide behind rocks and dead tanks and even the HE shells would get absorbed. Now they can just deliberately miss next to you while you're behind a house for 300-500+ damage. Not to mention the damage scaling is completely off at lower tiers, they still do way too much damage on direct hits. First off I would limit them to 1 per team and give them 2 rounds. One shell would do some damage and critical hits (to tracks mostly) but with no stun or splash radius. The other shell would keep the big splash and stun you but deal no damage. Making the arty gameplay just stun and tracking oriented would make it more of a support class. With these changes however they would also need to nerf some tanks that have practically zero weakspots. Also about the wheelchairs, they don't deserve that insane on the move auto-aim and accuracy. They should make the on the move accuracy similar to the tier 10 Polish med, you use that speed for scouting and if you want to damage something you stop or find a bush. There is literally no reason why the fastest light tanks should also have the best guns. And don't even get me started about the wheels that absorb tier 10 guns like it's nothing.

because of the reasons AEG talked about in this video, I am enjoying wot blitz recently. The premium ammo are nerfed in blitz but I don't have much problems because of +1 matchmaking. also there are tech tree tanks that can go head to head with premium tanks in tier 10 like the stb, is 4 and the t62. The chieftain in blitz has a cupola that you can actually hit and pen with standard rounds and if there is a hull down tank that you can't pen, the map is small enough so that you easily go to somewhere else for a different fight. There are no 'premium' equipment and every equipment is availible for credits. If wot can somehow copy what wot blitz is doing well, I think the game would be more playable than now.

First love your content and I agree with most of the issues you mentioned. Started playing 2012. Most of the time I played as a free2play player back then and it was manageable, now days don't think that's possible. Before returning to the game last December I had a break of couple of years not playing (real life stuff happened). I decided to install it and play with my brother like I used to in the old days. 1) First thing I noticed AP is no longer viable always since some tanks don't have any weak points any more or they cant be penetrated with weaker guns - low tiers don't stand a chance against higher tier now in many cases. 2) Angling of armor is pretty much useless because you will get Gold/HE spammed. 3) Next the module/crew dmg/death is no longer a big deal since you have infinite repair kits, first aid etc. This alone destroyed the many crew perks like jack of all trades, armored gun etc. ITs like they made the game into an arcade. 4) When I got back into the game and found my self lost in number of currencies there are in the game, not to mention loot boxes witch are considered gambling (feel sorry for buying those). I also miss the feeling of achievement of reaching tier X tank, during the new year event grinded 3 tier X lines no problem, for this you needed months in the past. And on top of everything the tier X matches are so boring, filled with over achievers, tanks not accessible to most of the players, gold/he spam. How are new players supposed to get into clan wars for instance when you need the reward tanks to play it at the same level as others? Premium tanks better then tech tier tanks? A lot of bad game design, don't know how WG got here. I remember like you guys that I played the game for tactical gameplay. Ability to cripple an enemy tank by destroying its engine, gun etc. Don't even want to go into arty discussion. Anyways sorry for the wall of text, just wrote a lot of things I consider bad in the game now days. All the best to you guys in the future!

My recommendation for you guys is to make a Tier 10 Tank. Tier List like you did for the tier 6 and Tier 8 premium list. It would really show people how much diversity there is in the Tier 10 world.

give all tanks a percentage that they can carry gold for random games if i remember correctly wg said a long time ago 5% gold ammo is being fired LOL... well that changed quickly consider a percentage cap/roof level of gold ammo a tank is able to carry say your tank has 40 shells and the following percentages gold standard/HE 10% /90% 40*0,10=4 gold shells and 36 standard/HE 15% /85% 40*0,15=6 gold shells and 34 standard/HE or 20% /80% 40*0,20=8 gold shells and 32 standard/HE these are rough values and all tanks carry different amounts of ammo (type 5 and german heavies carry a shitload of ammo but almost never use it all) also meaning that the percentage might be 20% but if they carry something around 100 shells we would get the following calculation 100*0,20=20 gold shells and 80 standard/HE this is broken because of the following E100 alpha=530 and 530*20=10600 dmg with gold i do not remember their exact ammo counts but you will very rarely run out of ammo in: MAUS E100 TYPE 4/5 JGPZ E100 FV 183/shitbarn/manticore/BC carry "few" shells and would need to be studied more closely anyways what i wanted to say is if you limit the number of gold shells a tank can carry the comander/player must think about when to use his ammo capacity that can kill that dumb type 5 with very few and still strong "weakspots" say now i remember the type 5 to have 2900 HP typical tank to have HEAT AMMO are russians and derp guns/E100 268 +v4 and others with 15cm+ guns the most effective shell to kill a type 5 would be the heat because it does not ricochet until you exceed 85 degrees and hitting a 85 degree angle is very very hard this essentially means the type 5 must overangle/hide his side armor to not get heatspammed but his frontal would now be flat and weak(armor angling meta dead for super heavies nowadays) back to the 2900 HP say if i play the 277 and i do 490 dmg per shot with heat i can deal with 4 shells 4*490=2k dmg+internal crit dmg alive type 5 6 shells 6*490=3k dmg+internal crit dmg DEAD type 5 8 shells 8*490=4k dmg+internal crit dmg an overkilled type 5 he died after the 6 th shell so why are you still spamming you retard!!! with movement he can make a shell or two bounce if he confuses the enemy "gunner" enough to hit somewhere dumb 430U is a medium tank that like the 268V4 is/can be to simple to play in randoms, as long as your front is facing the enemy they must either shoot a small weakspot(cupola) or hit your lower plate to deal dmg to you killing their effective dpm(430U and 268V4 still have strong lower plates) and keep their mobility unlike the tank designs of WW2 finally i will remind you the majority of all battles played in this game are randoms and amount to between thousands and 10s of thousands of games daily with a high server population on EU 100k players in the weekend peek per server. and that is why i think it is so important to limit how many of the "special" rounds are being fired/dispensed on the battlefield for random games because it is disruptive to the intelligent use of armor meta instance given trying to play your superheavy correctly save the special ammo/gold for your competitive gaming clan wars/advance/stronghold or at least a higher cap/roof for those game modes

It makes me sad what has happened to WoT, I can’t play things with armor cause of arty, which would be a fair counter if I could shoot at them as well. You can’t play light vehicles cause of EBRs. It just sucks now, it feels like you can only play the Meta(TM) or you just suffer. I love Tier 10, but it’s such a drag to play, it feels like your not playing, but being interrupted constantly by arty and people who have no business being at the top

I only recently got my second tier 10 (the T-100 light), and yeah ebr is really fun to play against.... so please wg nerf ebr a bit :D also 2 artys max per game would be very nice . Also the biggest point for me would also really be +2 matchmaking is kinda scuffed and unfair. I also dont see the need for +2 matchmaking because atm there are enough players to make sure that queue times are under 2 minutes and i would even queue 2 Minutes more just to not be stuck in +2 mm.Additionally i completly agree with nerfing reward tanks. Of course i completly understand that WG doesnt want to upset their main customers but lets be real... if wargaming keeps the game like this and keeps adding new premium tanks and not really rebalancaing tanks like 279 e the game will keep losing player count because ngl i dont alt f4 any game as often as WOT because i am a casual player and i only get spammed with gold while shooting normal ammo myself and so i even got a disadvantage with just starting the game. The thing about “easy progression” I don’t agree with really. I originally played from 2011-2013 on a f2p account (with occasional premium time and gold sprinkled in but 90% f2p) and I played a little over 4K games in that time (I was going to school so I couldn’t play hours on end) and with over 4K games I never made it to tier 10. I got to tier 9 (ST-I) and the grinding was so horrible, it got to the point where I was so frustrated with the game I sold everything and never played again until earlier this year on a different account (the last battle on my original account is 23/10/2013). Having come back I’ve played about 2.3k games and have unlocked 8 tier 10s and the overall experience of climbing the trees was more enjoyable (I still get frustrated during games but not because of the grind). The Game being too grind-y was what made me quit 7 years ago.

Great video! I play WoT (with some short breaks) for 9 years. For last 4 years I play only TDs. Because I like them. Because I love to think about new positions, to focus on one thing. Because I wan't to be a "specialist". To be honest, I was never good with meta tanks. I HATE Obj.268 4, I am pretty bad with E3 and E4. What I miss the most is the thrill. When I was younger, I was extatic when I was able to bait the shot with my SU-100, so the mighty KV-1S (pretty OP tier VI back in the days) bounced my squishy armor. I was proud that I was able to carry the game with Panther - one of the most hated tanks to grind. I managed to get and most of all keep "alive" my 3 tier X vehicles (E50M, obj 261 and obj 268) with my free account without premium vehicle. I think I am the kind of a player you mention in the ranked battle (does nothing on paper, but helps team). Through my stubborness my clan discovered that the Foch B is pretty neat in tier X clan battles. However, since a certain time I struggle really hard against three types of enemies. 1. Italian autoloaders. No matter what they are just pure counter for turretless TDs. They just keep you tracked. If you use repair kit, they track you again. If you dont use it, they just reload fasster than your repair time is and keep you tracked. I hate it. 2. Russian meds. First of all, they have slighter differences but almost same type numbers so it's pretty hard to remember what has what weakspot. Second, one or two russian meds have reload time about 5.5s. That is slightly faster than maxed out crew for repairs. Thus, russian med can keep you tracked and farm you with the same effect the italian meds can. 3. EBR. It's not about the speed. It's not about the gun. It's about magic "wheel dmg absorption". When I shoot with my JgPz E100, I expect that my shell (which is almost as big as EBRs turret) will do some dmg. That almost never happen. Sometimes HE helps...but not all the time. But over all I fully agree with your videos. I would add one more thing - there are too many tanks. In conclusion, I don't think that WoT is lost. But with this attitude in a year it will be... Great video, keep it up, guys!

Great video. Started playing the game 4 months ago and now I see these problems when I play and I'm losing interest quickly. In my opinion the biggest problem is a really bad matchmaking. 80% of the games are over in 3-5min with very uneven teams. If i get 2-3 of these uneven games, first 15min of playing, I just exit the game and do something else. God forstsättning!

I agree on most of your points... A good example is my first tier 10... I play since 2013 and my first tier 10 was the obj 268 (I took a long time to get it so I don't know the tier 10 meta before 2015/16 or something like that)... At that time I was like "wooooow look at that armor and how well it's angled" and all that stuff... Then I played it for the first time and I got completely rekt... but by playing this tank I learned how to angle my armor properly and I pulled of quite some bounces actually (I'm also a casual player so it was not incredible but it was ok) and I could be relatively aggressive because at some point I knew how to use my armor but now the way that I play it have changed a lot from when I played it a while ago because when I try to be more aggressive I usually take a few bounces and then start taking golds rounds or artys shells... I don't know if it's just the fact that now we knows which type of shell hit our tanks that make me thinks that more golds are used as time pass or if it is a fact... (I'm not blaming any players here)

I'm guessing the best way and easiest way to address the issue is to change the ammo. Why can't different countries have different special ammo. Make it so there aren't 3 different types of ammo but more, 4, 5 or 6. Some penetrates more against certain armour, some causes stuns, some have extra damage/less pen, some have a higher velocity therefore has better/worse properties against certain types of tank. Some drop smoke, some cause DOT's(damage over time). Some have limited AOE(Area of effect). Eventually with enough different types of ammo ALL the tanks will have weak spots and you'll have strengths and weaknesses with different nations/tank types. Also the upcoming commander re-vamp could also do this, ie commanders from certain countries have different special abilities but can only be uses in a limited type or tank from certain countries. Similar to the Ammo types but maybe they can deal Proc(special damage in certain circumstances) ie extra crew damage, more chance of fires, more time spotted, higher RNG (crit) chance etc These possible updates would be much easier than balancing over 800+tanks and pissing off all the Premium/Reward owners. For the last point you made i think it is a good system. - For example in Warframe there is a Disposition system what is monitoring the usage of all weapons in game and semi automatically reballance a special type of weapon upgrade to give edge less used weapons while giving less bonus for meta ones. This can be used just monitor the position of a tan takes in battles, if a tank consistently make in the top in battles then give a 1.0-1.2 modifier to the points it collect, and for a tank what always rank low give a modifier 1.8-2.0 then reassign the modifiers every month automatically based on the overall ranking. - WOT especially in the high tiers are desperately need match balance based on not just tier ant type but player personal rating as well. All the turbo battles are direct consequences fo the skill imbalance between the two team. If one team in a tier 8-10 battle filled with players with 2000-3000 PR and the other team has a platoon of tier 9 tanks with 9000 PR witch team will win ?

I started playing in 2011, I stopped playing from 2014 to basically december 2020. My 2 tier 10 are the bat chat 25 and the amx 50 b cause I loved their playstyle back in the day, and I remember having fun with them not using gold ammo, I literally only used premium rounds when I played clan wars cause it was mandatory. Now I don't want to play with those tanks. The power creep is absurd, my 2 babies are obsolete, and all the heavy tank branches I was playing with feel underwhelming now so I just decided to take it easy and play for fun, as much as I can. I pregressed on both the Russian TD lines, the obj 257, I'm planning on leaving my foch as he is even though I almost researched foch b, and I'm going to use chucks discount of the amx m4 51

@@maxedace3487 yeah in that game mode it will be way easier to balance things. as most tech tree tanks can really fight against each other on more leveled grounds, only need some fine tuning with meta tech tree tanks (like fixing the EBRs and balancing tanks like S.Conq Obj. 277 and some more meta tanks). the reward tanks are much more complicated to fix.

Some additional ideas: 1. MM - Must match tank for tank for any EBR or Reward tank, no exceptions. MM for those types would also include player sill level as well (a 7K WR EBR player would not be matched against a 10K WR EBR player as the difference is to big). All other tanks can be matched by class as they are currently. 2. Arty - Make additional “arty only” rounds, like: a. Smoke - allows arty to fire a round that has an effect like the “smoke screen” does in World of Warships. Smoke would last 30-60sec depending on tier of arty firing it. This could be used for concealing friendly movement through a “smoked” area or used on known enemy positions to dramatically reduce their visibility for the smoke’s duration (vision reduced to 50m auto detect range?). b. Flare - spots all enemy in the “illumination radius”. The length of time of each enemy would be spotted would depend on each spotted tank’s camo rating. Lower rating = more seconds spotted (in a way, similar to how “stun” works now, additionally arty would be rewarded with spotting exp this way as well). Flare would essentially be the exact opposite of a “Smoke” but with shorter duration. If a flare was fired into smoke to counter the smoke, it would only do so for a few (5-10? Seconds based on tier of arty firing it). c. Bomblet Round - Bomblet round would have an area effect but do significantly reduced damage. Soft targets would take more damage that harder targets. d. All three of the above arty round concepts have already been introduced into the game via Frontline mode (Smoke, Spotting Aircraft, and Strafe or Arty Strike).

WG did add some features similar to suggestions made here like capping artillery, new 7v7 ranked mode and new nerfs and buffs. Although with patches it’s often two steps forward one step back, it seems like this was influential.

I greatly like your discussion about tier 10s and I mostly agree. Especially for reward tanks and special rounds. However, I don't see Easy progression as a negative aspect. I actually believe that all tanks should be available and playable somehow. For me I must say that there is a bigger problem tiers 1-5 as they are not rewarding nor competitive in a huge sense. These tiers have way less battles than higher tiers for many reasons. I remember back a day when in a clan war campaign you needed to play each tier from tier 1 till 10. I understand there where some downsides but it actually made a meaning to all the tiers out there. And I also suggest that other games modes include these tiers (team battles/ ranked( somehow) ...) at least for special events. May be give some of the special rewards for these tiers as well ( along with higher tiers) as it might balance the competition. I dislike having some tanks that I will only play once with it or even never play with it at all. Why are they in the game in the first place then? These are just suggestions and ideas that I wanted to add to yours. cheers

Thank you for sharing all this. in order to fix op tanks, i would consider doing a variable tier rating like done in war thunder and have a it updated from time to time depending on the tanks results. no need to touch tanks carracteristics. Thanks for the great contents

Personally I feel that much of what you've said has been really accurate. The changes I would implement if I could press that button would be that I'd probably make it so that people can't load only premium/special ammo in thier tanks. Say around 25-30% of your total ammunition can be special ammo and the rest has to be standard or HE-rounds. Make it so that people that plays tanks that goes into the front and bounces shells gets rewarded for actually beeing the ¨TANK¨ for all the ones that want to play like scared sausages. These 2 changes would pretty much make it so heavily armored tanks would get more initiative to actually advance into the front & draw the enemies attention. While not having to worry to much about the premium ammunition as it would be the ammo people used in the ¨I can't penn this tank anywhere / I need the extra penn now when the team is more on the downlow to increase our win chance¨ When it comes to the hull down problem, I feel like there isn't much that can be done except maybe change the maps around a little. So the overpower cucumbers can't sit hull down in ¨KEY¨ positions on the map and dominate but have to go to the sides to get the ridges they need. As most of those tanks has weak hulls. About bonds in new ranked mode. Maybe something about 20 for won battle and 10 for lost, but even on the lowest rank. The highest ranks could get some more credits, maybe directives what are must have in high ranks

Very Good video! First I've ever watched from you guys. I agree on almost everything said on the video (like anyone who has even slightest clue how to play wot should) and really hope WG understands that this is the opinion of large portion of the player base. My biggest problem is MAP DESIGN, a very VERY underrated problem of the game. Many meta OP tanks are just somewhat regular tanks, but the map structure supports them optimally. For example almost all the meta tanks are very good hull down and surprise surprise all the maps are bumpy as F. It is ridiculously easy to find stronk spot to go hull down, most of the time the spot is specifically design to be there by WG, which I don't like. It takes 0 imagination from the player, since WG is handing out the obvious spot. These meta tanks are easy to deal with if they get caught in the open, with their hulls exposed (279e might disagree). Compare that to the NOT so meta is4, if it gets caught in the open and angles the hull ~45 degrees, sometimes it becomes unbelievably hard to deal with for the enemy. Conclusion; by map design WG could make is4 meta tank if the wanted to =D My second problem is the TURBO matches. This has alot to do with map design being just design so you meet with the enemy and start wanking in corner battles. Im not gonna go into that as much, since I find the other problem with turbo matches being the ever increasing DPM of the game. The reload times need to go up, there is no questions about that. Many have suggested removing rammer, which would be awesome, since it would free up one equipment slot from practically all the tanks. You mentioned in this video that tier ten tanks should be balanced, which is 100% right, but you didnt really talk about nerfing the better tanks more than buffing old tanks. If they would balance the game by buffing the older tanks, turbo games would become even more turbo. That would be just straight up dumb. The meta tanks need to get toned down. That was a long ass comment. I could go on for ever and if I was a content creator I would have probably made like 10 videos on this topic. =D Hopefully someone reads this Send help Serb is love, Serb is lyf.

I started WoT in open Beta and until 2014 I was very interested in WN8 and stats in general belonging to the top 5% EU. I took a break in 2015/2016 and after that started again but never to reach the engagement as before. When looking at the differences between the early years and today you have to keep in mind, that a lot of players, mostly the very good ones, have all the tanks and almost every one is equipped with bond equipment with 5+ skill crews. Some start three mrkong and some start new account to have something to do. So of course the general level of gamepay is much higher in the high tiers. Reward tanks can be balanced and still a lot of players are gonne try to get them. Just look at the KPz50t or the Char Futur - but these are ter 9. So a general rebalance of those broken tanks is necessary.

If enemy has 5 Strvs in the bag the game would be over as nobody would be able to Spot Strvs and even if they did Arty would rather hit lights meds and heavies because they are always spotted and always in places out in the open, Arty has no counter at the moment unless perticularly skilled arty players start countering other Arty players, Heavies have TD'S and Meds arty. Meds have Lights, heavies and Arty. lights have Arty, TD and heavies. TD has Lights, Meds and Arty. While arty only can only be afraid of a Brave or stupid EBR.

Great video guys, lots of good points. I have several tier 10 tanks and I very rarely play them, which is a shame. I find tier 10 matches to be very stressful for many of the reasons you mentioned, defeating the entire point of playing a video game. I often find it very hard to feel competitive at tier 10. Maybe it's because of my skill level relative to the other players. Oddly, I do not feel this at tier 9. No matter what tank I'm playing at tier 9 I feel like there are things that I can do to affect matches, even the tier 10 ones. I'm not sure why this is so, maybe it's due the gap between meta and less competitive tanks compounded by the gap in player skills? I agree that tier 9 seems to be the sweet spot in the game. Whatever it is. the net result is that I find tier 10 to be very stressful and not enjoyable. I also agree with many of your proposed solutions, especially more weakspots and rebalancing prem ammo. As for arty, at the moment I feel like they hit too hard. Overall, I think there needs to be a way to reduce the influence that multiple spgs can have on a match. I hope the SPG rebalance will help, one thing I like about the rebalance is that shells that stun will no longer knock out crew. I can handled being stunned but losing multiple crew members in one hit is very frustrating and excessively punishing. Edit: On prem ammo rebalancing, reducing damage of prem shells must be done *in conjunction* with introducing proper weakspots for heavily armored tanks to prevent them from being indirectly buffed.

i remember i had my first tier x in 2014 maybe 15?, had been playing 2 years towards it, i needed over 300 battles in my kv3 to go for the next tier, it was superhard, playing against tier 9-10 tanks, no gold rounds, single repair kits, and i was so sad i did not go for the is3 line but damn i learned the game , i needed to angle (and it worked) , i needed to use minimap , help teammates that had ever better armour but longer reloads

Wg should give a free med kit and repair kit at start of the games, like this, f2p player could save the money to boost their tank buying tea, coffee, spaghetti, or directive, and p2win who already have these type of things would just save money, and the difference between f2p and p2win would decrease

I remember from the days when I was playing Lord of the Rings Online. The Mines of Moria Region was something like a cutoff-point for players. Really hard quests and Instances to go though to the endgame-content in Isengard. Then the publisher introduced an item you could buy to make your new level 1 character max level for money. That let players who had no idea how the game, their characters or even "platoon" play worked into that content and let to a lot of frustration on many players parts. I have thrown out so many players that had strength equipment on their spellcasters or intelligence-equipment on their bow-fighters. The sad part about that was these guys never knew what they did wrong. Of course, that buy-to-play-endgame item stayed, the level cap increased even further and they population of the servers dwindled even further.

from what i remembered, the problems werent the damg with stardard and special ammo (which despite the "rebalance" the special continues being much better cause the damage diff was insufficient and thats why people were upset) but the HE ammununition, which was a very bad thing what they did, no pen but no "average" dmg, wasnt a good idea

32:30 -You can really add 261, best arty for missions and CW for flat maps -260 is overpowering 277 everyday (look at expectiations for a 3rd mark you'll understand) -50B is used in competitive formats although quite hard to handle -Progetto has no place here -V4 is arguable -140 is soooo valuable i don't understand where is he -60TP is quite good as weel (E100 less with 490 gun) -E3 is a powerhouse in citymaps... But i get the point and some of the tanks i said were "kinda situational" i may agree That Ranked Battle system idea is GENIOUS i LOVE IT!

Its all to do with RNG being rigged, i remember when a green reticle would pen, a fully aimed shot from 5 metres away wouldn't ghost straight through and when battles actually lasted more than 4 minutes. I've counted 6 ghost shells in one battle before. Seems like, if the game doesn't want you to do well or win, you wont no matter how hard you try. If you're close to finishing a mission you can bet your balls you wont pen that last damaging shot you need (side of a skorpion g, bounce.......sure) ..... rigged imo.

Anyone who says rng is rigged is just a bad player. There is certainly some games where my rng has been terrible, but that doesn't mean it's rigged. The only thing that decides the game is how good or bad your team is. Sometimes you carry, sometimes you don't. That's the nature of a multiplayer PVP game. I agree with everything AEG said but rng isn't rigged man. Just accept that some games just won't go well. (Keep in mind, my favorite tank is the FV4005. The PINNACLE of RNG deciding your game 🤣)

Agree with most of what you guys said! also to give you real example of "Easy Progression"... I find that totally true! with causes those huge imbalances for the MM, I play with my brother who has been playing since 2013... but I only started playing since Covid Lockdowns in Melbourne, Australia (March 2020)... and because of lockdowns, I played lots in the last 18months, and with the added bonuses, mission rewards, and a lot Blue Fragments/National flags/Spanners... because I have all the extra knowledge from my brother(who has ALL tech tree T10 tanks, and lots of reward tanks Chieftan, 907 etc), and playing /platooning with his clan, I have already have 11 x Tier 10 tanks! (140, 277, Maus, STB-1, Super Conqueror, EBR105, TVP50/51, T110E3, T100LT, T92HMC, Conqueror GC) I have played mostly as a free to play player, and just bought a few bonuses, like xmas boxes etc, and rarely run premium time ... I am not a terrible player, and have a good map awareness, and good basic skills, but definitely much worse that most of the meta/tryhard players/old dogs with heaps of experience and ALL the tanks/gold spammers... etc... It is very hard that if I want to practice to get better in my T9 and T10 tanks.. my only option is to play against heavily overpowered players and overpowered tanks... and as a newer player, I get trolled by lots of players because I don't play as well... and that is the problem, I can go ok, but like you guys say the trash soup I have to practice in, is just demoralising for a newer player in this game. It's actually almost better to play in Clanwars for me in T10s, as I am being coached live in the game, and can still contribute to a win etc and do OK with a bunch of buddies having fun... When I just play random battles in T10 it's much harder, and nobody will help or play to assist etc. or take risks, as everyone (tryhard/stat-padders) are mostly don't play to win the game or as a team, they play to pad out their stats or win8 etc... which doesn't help you if you are a newer player, where the majority of players you play with especially in T9 and T10, they basically just use you as a meat shield, and hope you die, so they can farm some more damage while you die...

I don't know what you think but about goldspam I suggested a while ago about having a limited number of gold bullets per tank, something like 20% enough to have an E100, E3, MAUS or anything armored you have to think before to shoot his gold bullets as they may be missing when he hits head on with something armored ... but if the gold bullets are unlimited why not shoot a light tank using gold? THIS may solf the armored tanks, now they become more "armored" ante dont need to rebuild weekspot or someting. what u think guys?
