Can you make a short video about how HitPoints actually work for campaign generals? For example; Do faction leaders get more HP than Family Members? I absolutely love this game and tried to give all the traits which give hitpoints to my family member. However, I guess it was bugged and he died quickly when I sent him to fight the Spanish king.

An interesting idea!! I don't believe faction leader get any more hit points automatically. But perhaps being a leader increases chances of traits that help... it certainly gives more ancillaries that benefit HP.

how about when the character traits and character/family management goes horribly wrong? i've noticed that by the mid to late game the direct descendants of the original families end up with a lot of negative traits. so much so that the faction leaders have low command, chivalry/dread, and piety, but maxed out authority.

I always sent generals to the battles and made sure they were directly involved. despite having full command and chivalry/dread or gaining them in battles some of their children were either cuckolds or lewds lol. some were born conquerors in about turn 170 though

When looking at the family tree how can you tell whose related how? Like benefactors, married in, direct decendants n such?

@@shakybill3 you need to look at them by their surname, if their surname is different than the father it means they were probably adopted

It is incredibly hard to keep a general on the right track as there are so many dice rolls each and every turn. I don't think the odds change on traits through the game but your observation is certainly what I also experience. I think when your attention is spread over more and more family members as the game goes on, it is logical that they get less chance for positive actions and end up picking up more bad traits. It is curious though. Certainly having money in the coffers at end turn has big corruption increases and affects dodgy traits.

All nice,but what actions u need to made in order to avoid bad traits in general? Avoid leaving fm in setts? Use some movement points? Order a construction ? And many more...

You will always pick up all sorts of traits, regardless of how you try to mould a character... but you can push them in the right direction. Generally speaking, being out with an army is better than sitting around in the city. Though what you build is very influential. Building religious buildings or town halls are solid for traits. Details are further down the character traits file, in the trigger section. I should make a video on this sometime

just embrace the randomness of the game, it's not only more fun from a roleplaying perspective, it is also a way to slow yourself down since the AI don't pose that big of a threat anyway. and if you do things rights you generals will end up being decent regardless of any bad trait they end up with.
