Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's online meta almost exclusively uses Waluigi. Every lobby I go has half of the players playing as him. That game's not balanced at all lol.

Fun fact: I was stuck on the mission where you have one inning to beat Bowser Jr when he has a 2-0 advantage. I lost ten times because the AI was psychic and always stopped the ball. But just as I wanted to give up, the Blue Kritter hit a home run with all three bases loaded and won the whole game. I have dubbed this savior Kobalt the Kritter.
Dude me and my cuz were literally fighting over who gets toad because literally every single time he got put on the base he hit a dinger, I’m not disagreeing with your choice but I think they might of buffed him up a bit
My roommate and I have a Super Sluggers tournament going (so far we've played 51 nine-inning games over the past 3 months) and I'm glad to see the game is still this popular! Great video and solid list!
Finally I've been reccomended a Mario Super Sluggers video and even better luck its the apparent fanclub so I know there's more I can watch other then this. The algorithm has truly blessed me.
I guess RU-vid did that mind reading thing where I never searched Sluggers videos but play it regularly and was wondering about a tier list a few days ago when this was randomly recommended to me. Anyway, great video and will be using it when considering future teams 👍
Monty mole is my favorite 😢 Also I like the placement of wario, he most certainly is the worst captain, and if you are using a nunchuck, his star swing is practically useless.
Friends and I are huge fans of this game, working on learning how to use parsec over dolphin netplay for a better non-local experience. Pretty solid tier list, Yoshi is such an outstanding fielder and his star always guarantees at least a single I always thought of as S, but upon second thought, his pitching is kinda buns. Considering he can always get a hit with star and he's the best fielder in the game, maybe A for me but I can see top of B. My friend ALWAYS plays peach AND baby peach and it's so infuriating to deal with the pitches, and peach's star makes me wanna rip my eyes out all the time. How can Yoshi be infatuated with peach, or some of the bowser minions?! So annoying. And Petey FOREVER absolute goat
Toadette in F tier!? what?! Toadette is my home girl! she's crazy fast and never lets me down. also she's pink so... lol. Toadsworth is OP if you play with friends. he throws so slowly and can curve on demand. he's extremely slow in the field tho. funny you put Tiny Kong so high. she always seems to fail me at the worst moment. i always put her on my team because she's cute tho lol. yoshi is a mainstay on my team because of his epic fielding. man, my team's bad i just put all the characters i find cute on it XD
Ain't no way toadsworth is D tier, that man's pitching speed is so unbelievably unpredictable with its stupid slow speed-- I've unironically lost so many hits just because I can't time the speed of his pitches HE'S GOTTA BE ATLEAST C OR B TIER LOL HE'S SCARY
As a fellow Monty hater, I can say that I fully agree with his placement, and I don’t think it’ll change any time soon. The other major point against him that you didn’t mention, though, is his awful chemistry trees. As his speed is his best trait (even though it still isn’t too good), you’d want him in the outfield, especially considering you probably have better characters to play the infield. He has chem with goomba, who will probably be playing 1st, 3rd, or sometimes pitcher due to ball dash, paragoomba, who Monty is fine with but who is still picked very rarely, and the shy guys, who I find to work best on a team with Birdo. The problem with this, however, is that Birdo not only has Petey chem for a faster shortstop to 1b throw, Daisy chem for a reliable pitcher or something like 2b, and most importantly, Yoshi chem, as you’re practically guaranteed to get a few and they could play outfield better in the place of Monty mole. This leaves Monty with no niche at all, considering his best chem partner is already outclassed in terms of their own chemistry and the rest are all low tier characters as is. Like, I can’t imagine a team comp where I would want to take him at all, even as a ninth pick. Overall, though, really good list! Hopefully this didn’t come out as too much of an essay.
Really good analysis. Obviously I had to keep each character summary very short for time's sake, but I definitely could have thrown in a point about his awful chemistry as another reason to keep him so low.
Hey man, question: do you play on dolphin or real hardware? I'm trying to play online with a friend on dolphin but since you need to use an emulated wiimote for netplay, I can't get my pointer to work. Also, my friends nunchuk doesn't seem to work online?
ok, so I had a team with Petey Piranha. He was put at shortstop. I was winning the game by like 2 runs. The other team hit one that bounced off of Petey in a similar way to 13:05 with Baby Mario, and a run scored. Baby Mario (coincidentally) was center fielder, and I'm criticizing him as well, as he barely went up to field it. The very next batter hit the exact same thing. Right to Petey, bounced off, and right into center field. This time, Baby Mario made 0 effort to field the ball. He watched it roll right past him without moving at all. He watched Petey run a marathon to go to nearly the fence to go get it. When Petey got to it, a run scored, and another was on the way. He threw it in - right to Baby Mario ten feet away, who threw it right back. Only then did Petey make an effort to throw to the infield, but way late. We trailed by one run and ended up losing that game because of it.
I feel that this is a good list but at the same time characters can sometimes be great together my favorite combo for outfield is easily Yoshi and baby Mario and Luigi they have good speed and almost always catch the ball but sill love this list

4:45 If you use a star power on bloopers change up pitch its actually pretty great. Goes up so high you can't even see the ball and have to rely on its shadow.
Monty mole and goomba's ball dash can be amazing if your opponent overrelys on stealing. Like my dad does against. I still toadsworth should be higher his pitching absurd just use multiple pitchers when your opponent starts get used to hit. Wario useless in the field? Laser throw.
I gotta wonder how a tier list for the Gamecube Mario Baseball would look, as I played that one much more often than the Wii one. In that game I felt Donkey Kong was the best pitcher in the game since there were consistent setups you could use that guaranteed you could paint a corner of the strike zone due to his sidearm delivery.
I wonder what you would rank Fire Bro specifically. For some weird reason, for all the years I played this game, I could almost never get a hit with Fire Bro. It was like some sort of curse. Is it just me with this problem?
Toads have the ability to hit dingers and the babies are at least ok for out fielding and stealing bases. Otherwise I agree with everything else on this list!

Rool Red Kritter Wiggler Petey Piranha King Boo Funky Kong I guess I really never cared about inner/outer field nor pitching when I was little but this team always scored me loads of points. To me, it was all about them homers. :P Nowadays, I just pick random characters for no reason just to see the results. Also, who else loved the Wario City billboard painting thing and spent hours making a profile picture? I know I sure did. :>
