Hot take - I feel like real SJM girlies are few and far between. Her series are so different, I don't know many non-influencers who genuinely like all 3. I'm a TOG fanatic, but struggled to get through ACOTAR and don't have plans to pick up Crescent City🙃

wanted to thank you for all your videos, binging your content from the last 2 years kept me sane in my exam season!! our tastes are very different a lot of the time, my top tier would have: The Raven Cycle, Ghosts of the Shadow Market, Skulduggery Pleasant, The Mortal Instruments, Pandora Hearts, D.Gray-man; and my second tier: Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Carry On, The Emerald Atlas, The Dark Artifices, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, Kuroshitsuji, Kaiju no.8; my lowest tier would have to include: Gallant, Half Life, Throne Of Glass, Children of Blood and Bone, Shades of Magic, Howl's Moving Castle (I really like the film but not the book), and controversially Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries, The Infernal Devices and The Last Hours (I'm currently reading Chain of Thorns, and it's the only one of the series I'm genuinely enjoying)

If you liked heartless I would definitely recommend reading the lunar chronicles. I haven't read Heartless so I can't compare it but the lunar chronicles are retelling books that are super unique and they also have great characters!

Ohh tier ranking every fantasy series fun. The only books I would change would be Tress of the Emerald Sea and Vampire Academy to so fun! Six Crimson Cranes would be almost, but not quite.

This was really fun! Fantasy is my favorite genre and I added a few more to my TBR from watching this 😊I enjoyed Priory okay, but I liked A Day of Fallen Night a lot more. So if you do ever decide it’s time, I think it’s worth reading the prequel!

Prison Healer series is one of my all time favourite YA fantasy series. I don’t read that much YA anymore but I was obsessed with that series when I read it last year

Our reading tastes and thoughts are so similar! I saw so many people talk about A Study In Drowning with such positive reviews and I got totally suckered into the hype and it was just so meh for me. My favourite series are Veronica Speedwell, Villains & Virtues and The War of Lost Hearts! My absolute favourites!!!

This was so fun to watch. I've actually read most of the books in your worst section lol and at least one of each in the other categories.

we have vastly different taste (some of my favourite books of all time are in your meh category and some that I DNFed are in your all time favourites!) but I really enjoy hearing about what you love or don’t in a book! and I completely agree that Vicious by VE Schwab is one of the most excellent fantasies!

For T.Kingfisher you should definitely read the sworn soldier series if you want horror or the sain of steel series for romance! I read both of them and finished them so quickly, they were so entertaining and they had such good storylines

You have to read the fifth one! Really expands on the other characters plot lines!

Just finished this newly released, original collection of fairy tales, entitled 'Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles' - it was phenomenal and just perfect for the season. You guys would love it! What's everyone else reading, I want some more recommendations to add to the lovely ones here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)

So as someone who would’ve put Priory in the integral part of my personality category I recommend A Day of Fallen Night lol but if you didn’t love Priory, I don’t know if it’ll be that different of an experience. Personal fave though.

I feel the same way about Crescent City, it just *slightly* misses the mark for me. The first book was a solid 4.5 stars (for me) but the 2nd one barely made it into 4 star category-because of the amount of detail that went into it

You should read the wizards guide to defensive baking by T. Kingfisher. It’s so good. You’d Iove it. I would put this in the top of my tier list.

I'm generally not a big SJM fan but to put Acotar above The Name of Wind was wild

As someone who LOVED Samantha Shannon’s TPOTOT, I’m telling you that the prequel is like 200 times better! I’d say it took the ‘mistakes’ of TPOTOT and learnt from them, creating a story that was incredible with such lovable and well-written characters it was hard to put the book down (for me, at least haha). So if you ever feel like reading some reaaally good 800+ pages high fantasy, A Day of Fallen Night is a fantastic choice :))

i’m halfway through Gold rn (5th in the Plated Prisoner series) and i’ve been really dragging my feet with this one. it’s become the book i pick up when i’m super bored and am in between other books. i think the series could have been so good if she made it 3 books, but there are just so many places in the series where she unnecessarily dragged everything out and now she’s saying it’ll be a 7 book series and i might DNF because of that

If you want to give T Kingfisher another try, read Nettle and Bone! IMO her most mature work, loved the writing and it's fun but also tackles some serious things
