EXO Kai rover was already announced as one of the best songs of the year the song went viral like crazy had the whole industry dancing and people are still going crazy over it. But at the end of the day I respect people's opinion but I also got to say at the end of the day Rover was a smash and Kai got his flowers for that good job my brother

oh and as someone who nominated "Hate Rodrigo," you're absolutely right about it, I think my reason for hating it was almost entirely "title shoulda been Wicked Love!!!" but if I'm being fair to the song on its own, yeah it's kinda exactly in the vein of Yena's previous releases (which are good!)

The way S-class was my first comeback and literally cemented my decision to fall down the Stay rabbit hole PROPERLY says a lot about how good that song acc is. My true unpopular opinion this year is that I really like Sunmi’s Stranger. Like, YES, it’s a LOT, but I grew to like it so much, and within the concept (I know, a good concept doesn’t guarantee a good song), I genuinely think it worked

I can understand why *someone* would hate like 95% of these songs (even though I personally only dislike a couple, I liked most of them), I really don't get what someone could possibly find offensive about Like Crazy - and to some degree Twice's Set Me Free - though XD Like, it doesn't try anything new, it's just very solid with what it is (especially since it isn't a title track) so it's wild someone would hate it more than another song that's even more generic and less well done lol

My thoughts on the songs: - I actually liked SUNMI's "Mr.Stranger" much more than Everglow song (which is sad bc I was waiting for the comeback and the result is disappointing) Same goes for Jimin (even though I kinda like the song "Like crazy") and Stray Kids ("S-Class" is not my cup of tea at all) - I was expecting so much better song from YG cause girls are really talented and I like their voices, but I guess YG doesn't really care or smth....luckily this songs got the vibe for my mood sometimes so it's fine - AND big surprise for me was IVE song "Baddie", cause I was sceptical at first, but for me this song is actually good Same for Jisoo's "Flower" - I think the song sounds nice FINALLY uhhh Jessi's Gum was most addicted for me, it might be not that lyrically diversed BUT IT SLAPS (but I still like Zoom more)

I understand not liking God of Music because maybe it's a huge difference form Super and F*ck My Life but I love it because it sounds like the songs they did when they debuted! I personally HATE 7Heaven by Purple Kiss because I love Purple Kiss' sound, their halloween-like concept, and the fact you can hear a song and instantly hear that it's them. 7Heaven sounds like any generic summer girl group song. Zombie is their most "safe" sounding song and even that has fun elements to it that clearly show off a theme. 7Heaven has nothing, no effects or anything to make it memorable past anything Oh My Girl has been putting out this entire decade, or any lesser known bright gg release, summer or not. It sounds like 4 other songs just straight top of my head

But anyway, I enjoyed the video it was funny as always which I love!!

ok some other thoughts on individual tracks here: - "Spicy" is so good what is that commenter snorting - as someone who wept tears of profound joy at the Everglow concert I do have to say that, *on its merits as a song,* "Slay" was fine but a lil weak. however every bit of context surrounding it, from the performance to the fact that EG was back at all, certainly elevated it and I do agree it should be illegal to say it's bad - thank you for always standing up for my close personal friend "Stamp on It" - I thought "Baddie" was the second best Ive release of the year after "Kitsch" please don't block me - "Cake" is fine, I get why it gets hate but at least it wasn't as unjustly hated as "Sneakers" (masterpiece) and it's MILES better than "Cheshire" which we can all just agree never happened that's totally fine w me - NMixx taking hits left and right! thought the other 2 were forgettable but YDS kicks ass (and you're right that "Party O'Clock" is way better than RC). also YES JIWOO SLAYED that's why I stay subscribed to this channel for the UNENCUMBERED TRUTH
