@@ballas8656 omg imagine if all the racist human characters got a boost in their damage output against omnics and all racist omnics got a damage output boost against humans
@@alexcount5130 No, as far as I know, Reaper just hates everyone that was involved in Overwatch, and I guess Omnics too. He is in Talon to do good for humanity in his own way, the stuff he wasn't allowed to do in Overwatch or Blackwatch.

Her sentiment has changed since spending time with him. -Ashe has omnics in her group where she treats them like everyone else. -Pharah has an omnic on her unit of whom she respects a lot. -Lucio builds Orisa's supercharger when he fuses her tech with his sonic tech. -Efi is from Numbani where omnics and humans lived side by side through the omnic crisis. Fun fact, bastion can talk normally, it's just that he says the most horrid things to his human teammates and enemies that the devs have no choice but to censor everything he says as deeps and boops
Hanzo is actually kind of Racist , he only disarms humans but he does kill omnics . And he literally does not believe Genji is his brother just because he is half omnic .
Tbh I feel like the part with genji was more of him being shocked and disbelief then him being a cyborg. like Hanzo was 100% convinced he was dead so he was probably just surprised
Weird seeing Lúcio as Not Racist vs Anti Racist. He has (or had) so much cute dialogue with the omnics. In OW1 he had an interaction with Bastion where he just says "Yo bastion! Check this out! *Makes beeping sounds*" Bastion: *Curious beeps* He's always seemed full harmony. Only time I see him upset is with Vishkar (Symmetra)
Some voice lines I remember that could influence the tier list: Reaper: "Bots, a dime a dozen." Moira: "This place has such a medieval view on omnics." (Against racism towards omnics)
@@swagmeisterVLR there's a voice line between her and zen that kinda goes like this Zen - You have an intense stare, doctor. Moira - I'm thinking how to best utilize you. Zen - In the coming battle, you mean? Moira - Maybe. So i wouldn't say she's completely not racist
I like how ramattra is seen as a violent racist (sometimes on levels with junker queen) yet he only gets violent to those who are racist to omnics, he actually seems like a chill dude if you're nice enough to give him a chance, like bastion, just without the trauma
I'll be willing to listen why he hate human, he got all the reason to. Being a killing machine that wanted to find peace yet he realize human are fucked up, what a emotional rollercoster.
I love that the only humans that are racist are Australian, as an Australian it's pretty accurate to be honest lmao. I watched an indian video once that described 70% of Australians are casual racists while the other 30% are full time racists
Also of note about Pharah is that in her comic an omnic member of her squad shot himself in the head in order to avoid being controlled by an AI and she subsequently honors his memory.
If you have a torb, brig, and multiple ominics (or at least an orisa) on your team, there’s a chance for a voice interaction where brig says something like “what do we say to our new teammates papa?” And torb awkwardly says he’s happy to work with them. Orisa then says she’s happy to work with them as well
Fun fact is you didnt know about torbjorn, on some maps like kings row and nepal, he states that he couldnt believe that he once supported that anti omnic group in london, and nepal he states thats hes trying to change after he sees omnics for who they are and not what they are, all because of one bird loving robot
I think something that was overlooked about Hanzo is how he kills the omnics in the animated short "Dragons" at around the 1 minute mark you can see him kill the omnic but only knock the humans unconscious. Also when genji reveals himself Hanzo just thinks it's just another omnic he goes straight for the kill. Hanzo also says "What have you become" to Genji after he reveals himself, possibly being a racist comment.
The only thing I can say against this is you can’t knock out a omnic without putting a crater in its head. So that could have been why he killed them but just a thought.
I think for that we know too little about how Omnics work. Since they are robots their bodies can probably endure things that would kill humans. And even they "died" they could probably be rebuilt as long as their core AI stays intact. The same thing can be seen in McCree's/Cassidy's short: Ashes group has an Ommic sniper in it who seems to be the only one "killed" when McCree shoots him in the head. However he does this after the Omnic sniper already survived several shots and a fall directly onto rocky ground. So I believe this snipers body is just much more durable than a humans and as such it took more to incapacitate him. After all after the fight McCree took off Bob's head to make sure he stays down, one more thing you can't do to a human. Tldr: Omnics can endure more damage than humans so Hanzo might've just incapacitated them
I think it was honestly just to keep the short pg bc it’s easy to kill a robot and get away with it on screen but not humans, especially with a bow. And Hanzo is totally the character that would have just killed them all in that short.
"I'm sure if a friendly robot came up to [dva] she'd be okay and she would like that robot." There's a voiceline between ashe and dva where she calls bob a cuuute guy, so that's absolutely true
I get the reference, but for those who don’t, in the Shadow the Hedgehog video game, one of his voice lines for completing a level is “disgusting black creatures, get out of my sight.”
Actually, in Kirikos cinematic, apart from headshoting that one human with the mask, she only beat up the humans while shanking the omnics. Same as in Hanzos trailer, where he straight up shoots omnics but only beats up humans. This is probably done by Blizzard, where they cannot show any blood cos its PG so they only kills omnics. Still, says a lot.
Moira actually has a voice line in Kings Row. Canonically the most divisive map on omnics in the OW world. She states that the people in Kings Row have “backward laws towards omnics”
or when youre playing an omnic-aligned hero on junkertown attack and when you get the first point shes like “you belong in the scrap heap!” at the door :(
18:53 If I showed someone this clip who knew nothing about Overwatch and didn't know Winston was literally a gorilla they would be convinced that Reaper should be at the top for that
Genji is not "part omnic", he is cybernetic. Omnics are specifically those built in omniums that gained sentience. Genji just has metal affixed to him. Same with Sojourn. She just has cybernetic limbs, she isn't "part omnic"
You forgot one VERY important racist fact about Junker Queen: She LITERALLY has an omnic's decapitated head worn like a shoulderpad, and an omnic hand on her hip. We stan a racist queen!!!
Another thing about Ashe is that in Mcree's animated cinematic we can see that there are Omnic gang members in the deadlock gang, ( A group of bandits that Ashe founded) so it appears that she does indeed have an understanding about them.
Dva has an interaction with ashe where she calls Bob cute Dva: "I saw you on a wanted poster with a cute guy" Ashe: *scoff* "please tell me you don't mean cassidy" Dva: "e w NO, the tall one with the little hat" Ashe: "oh *bawb,* I'll tell him you said hello"
Thing to note about Brigitte, in one interaction she basically makes her dad (Torböjrn) say to any of the omnic characters that he is looking forward to working with them. So I think she would be in anti since she is actively trying to make her dad not racist lol.
@@justsomeguywithnomustache6245 Try to imagine Siri somehow gaining the same level of intelligence as you or I, and then calling her something like a "tin can" or something.
there’s now an interaction between zarya and zen in ow 2 where zarya asks zen if he dreams and he answers ”i dream of peace and sometimes falling”. zarya answers something like ”i guess we’re not that different then” and i think it’s pretty cute, something very different compared to ow 1 zarya who absolutely hated omnics.
@@lazarus1540 that could definitely be the case, but it doesn’t exclude the fact that she finds something she can relate to about zen, hence the more gentle approach to him :D
Well of course woke Blizzard had to remove all kind of fictional racism, the real corporation is on thin ice considering all the rapists, homophobes and racists it has.
Note: Roadhog and Junkrat aren't exactly friends It's clear Junkrat thinks they are, but Roadhog seems more like he tolerates Junkrat since he hired him
Sym has an entire comic about gaining understanding about the omnic beliefs, talking with Zen and restoring something her cooperation destroyed that was precious to omnics using respectful methods and taking the time to live with them a and understand . Her and Zen seem to be buddies.
@@christian_k_e more classist than anything. Sym does come from an impoverished background and now that she’s crawled out of it, her voice lines give me the vibe that she was miserable in it and hates any reminder while Lucio tries to thrive and make the community thrive with him. Just a thought. I really wanna know more about his father since he apparently worked for the same company and made his weapon and we know nothing more.
@sunrise Like when he asks her when are they gonna rebuild the favelas that were "burnt" and she says like "it is in the backlog", then lucio points out that it always get deprioritized. The way she says it is in the backlog already sounds very mean, but I would agree with the comments before me that she may be classist.
@@daddymyers3322 To be fair, Bastion is from the E54 series, which served in the Omnic Crisis - He hates enemy Bastions, nowadays all of Overwatch like this particular Bastion (just look at McCree asking him for a bottle opener).
My brother mentioned to me that during the two dragons cinematic, Hanzo killed the one omnic but not the humans. Also mentioned Hanzo's "disgust" to seeing a robotic brother, but that's debatable.
yeah I wouldn't say disgust. More like horror. If anyone saw their sibling with new prosthetics I'm sure it can be agreed that it'd be a horrible sight to see, and painful to look at, but not in a racist way lol. Hanzo has more of a painful look in his face
There's a dialogue between D-va and Ashe were D-va says she thinks Bob is rather cute, so I think she'd be higher on the "not racist" since she actually likes an omnic
Roadhog was actually one of the founding members of the Australian liberation front that tried to get rid of omnics and bombed there fusion core that nuked there region which is why they live in a wasteland
@@awakenedgraphics4023 I mean I don't think he cares anymore. I think you can even see a normal person version of roadhog, junkrat, and probably junker queen's mom heckling ramattra while he holds a dead omnic in the new story short.
i'm so pissed about that. in overwatch 1's launch trailer, theres literally a clip in there of him protecting an omnic from rioters. they literally just made him racist to make more contrived internal conflict for their garbage PvE mode.
10:50 I'm pretty sure hammond has some voiceline that plays after he kills either winston or some human where he refers to himself as a "higher mammal." Also I do recall roadhog calling some omnics shit like "bucket of bolts" after he kills them.
@@KendelR ngl it’s kinda strange, but mostly because if I know how people get when someone else brings up racism on the internet. Actually a good video though
I recently played Overwatch 2, and there is a voiceline from Torbijorn where he says that he "couldn't believe he fell for the anti-omnic bullcrap" he was racist before, until he met Bastion. There's also a voiceline if you have Brig, Torb and some Omnics on your team where Brig will encourage her dad to say he looks forward to working with the Omnics, showing that he is trying to be better towards Omnics
The thing you said about Mei made me realize that when she says in her story "I could save millions of lives with this data" she's referring to omnic lives, not human ones.
Not really, it’s more so both human and omnic lives as climate change is a danger for living organisms and solving it could save millions of lives and finding out that, the solution isn’t caused by the creation of omnic will also save omnic lives.
11:03 Hammond has most likely participated in the killings of many omnics in junkertown, as he used wrecking ball in the giant robot arena thing, where the corpses of omnics are scattered everywhere
Widow has a voiceline with bastion where she says "you're lucky you're just a robot" and then bastion beeps and she goes "that doesn't not mean you're allowed to talk to me" or something along those lines
I mean, she is just outride rude to many characters in voicelines, but for example for Lucio she corrects to music when she calls his music something like trash and still says its annoying and is rude. I am not saying that does not mean she is racist, but it can be that she just looks down everyone, which is kinda her image
@@NUKIRUKIreal It felt like the opposite. She isn't assassinating because he's "just a robot". That would be the racist part if anything. The "that doesn't mean you can talk to me" has no racial motivation whatsoever.
Lucio's canonical map in OW2, Paraiso, only shows a hate for Vishkar Corporation - at the Tropical Discos shop, theres a sign that says "omnics welcome" in the storefront window. Considering the city is strongly influenced by Lucio's opinions, it's pretty safe to say he's not racist against omnics. That and there's spawn-dialogue of Lucio being extremely friendly with the omnic heroes.
Soujorn and Genji aren’t “part Omnic”. One is cybernetic and the other is a cyborg. “Omnic” specifically refers to highly intelligent robots made in an omnium, each unique. Very different from cyborgs and cybernetic individuals in the Overwatch universe
nerd to nerd, also what makes omnics _omnics_ is the fact that they can feel emotions or have human-like feelings and behaviour, that is why killing them is such a big deal bc if you kill the sentient bots they ain't coming back.
There is actually a quote by Symettra with Zen where she says something like "To be lectured by order and chaos by a machine" which does imply she has some racist stereotypes
That was before. Since the release of OW 2 they replaced that line for the one where she shows respect to him. Granted, this video treats past behavior as current behavior, but I wanted to point out she's having some growth
I would say that Sigma is more "not racist" than other characters in that category, in an interaction with Zen her states that he's met the Iris and that he enjoyed his time with it, whichbmeans he enjoyed the presence of an "omnic" although it would be more of an ai than a physical robot
@@bena8805 no, that would be "Aurora". The Iris is the phenomenon that gave them consciouness. Sigma probably experienced the Iris when he was experimenting with black holes and ended up being mentally damaged.
The way you can logically look at the situation is that Aurora was the first omnic who became self aware. She then basically sent whatever code gave her that sentience across the entire omnic network and the others downloaded it but in turn it destroyed her in doing so. This code is what the Iris basically is, a software update that they all downloaded and now worship it as a spiritual being signifying mental awakening and enlightenment. If the Iris is something truly more then code then we aren't certain. It could of been some kind of God Program.
I feel like Ramattra should (now that he's out) be in Some/Prior, as In-Game, If you have a Ramattra and a Baptiste on the same team, there's a chance you can get the following interaction B: "Are you sure you want me helping you? I am a human after all." R: "A helpful human would be a welcome change of pace." I might've gotten the exact words a little wrong, but it's something like that. This signifies that, while still willing to kill Humans for Omnics, Ramattra isn't blind to the fact that there are humans who want Human and Omnic peace. _this is just coming from a 14 year old tho so i could be completely and utterly wrong._
no you are right, i see it like this, ram is tired of the hatred and killing of omnics so of course he hates humans that do that but he genuinely wants to have peace between the two. He doesnt want to kill all humans, just stop the killing of omnics.
Hmm I put that in the evidence towards racism tbh, it's just his tone. I have a feeling that Rammatra has a lot of racism but because he sees himself as a saviour and a hero that he tells himself he's not racist.
For Ashe it's the same reason as those who protects everyone (human and omnics), she didn't care if it's human or omnics, as long as she can get the cash, she'll get it.
Ramattra said that their generation of omnics are Finite and dying. Meaning they cannot be rebuilt and are going extinct. That’s why Mondotta can’t be rebuilt. Also for Junker Queen her outfit literally has omnic parts and heads on it
It’s not done out of her own motivations though, since she has none. She’s been brainwashed into being one of Talon’s goons with no free will of her own (which is why she killed her husband. It was something they made her do).
@@cocob0l0 there’s also one where she asks “how are you feeling?” And Widowmaker says “nothing. That’s the point, isn’t it?” Kinda seems like what somebody pretending to have no emotions would say. Kinda bitter like “this is what you wanted, right?”

He does that to everyone. But I agree that it is racist tendencies and he should be in high possible racist. Full on racist? Not really, since he’s malicious to pretty much everyone.
@@Chuchel-hh6hq You really surprised by that? Reaper would make fun of everyone because of how edgy he is. Genji, whenever he kills bastion he says "Back to the scrap yard" does that make him racist too regardless of his respect towards zen?

seems like junkrat has been getting along w bots better recently though, his new voice lines with ramattra and bastion are kinda chill. he does call zen creepy in one tho
Torbjörn expresses horror whenever he’s in Numbani, whereas Junkrat says the city makes him sick. The reason why is because Numbani is a haven for humans AND omnics.
if you want to further reinforce junker queens spot at the top, taking a look at her design for more than 5 seconds reveals that parts of her armor include the body parts of omnics (a faceplate being used as shoulder armor and omnic hands being used as part of her belt. this is also the closest thing to gore in overwatch)
I think Sombra and Doomfist are actually very interesting in how they are potentially racist. The fact that Sombra can and does hack Omnics makes a lot of sense and, can definitely be argued to be racist, but I think it is more done out of opportunity than specifically to spite omnics. Like, if she could do the same to humans (gameplay notwithstanding) she definitely would. Doomfist is also interesting as he is deliberately sowing the seeds of conflict by further increasing the tensions of the Omnic Crisis. Having Widowmaker shoot that one omnic dude being the primary example of that. There's nothing to indicate he personally holds anything against Omnics, but he is deliberately weaponizing their plight and anger to cause riots and more uprisings. I guess you could maybe put both of them in their own category titled: "Opportunistic Racists"
i had the same thought with sombra she dosent hack omnics because she thinks them to be lesser, she hacks omnics because she can and it helps her achieve her goals. shed hack humans if she could, and gets as close as possible she dosent give a shit if you are omnic or human she thinks everyone is just a tool for her to be used cant be racist if you think everyone is beneath you lmao
Now this is a proper ow tier list. -Symm had some close minded voice lines towards Lucio and Zen in the old game but Blizz dropped a comic a few years ago in which she hangs with Zen and becomes woke. - I used to think rein was racist. After looking into it I learned he's really just a German nationalist and happens to have the same name as an SS commander who was one of the architects of the final solution. - Zarya and J Queen are basically my 70 year old, alcoholic uncles.
I'd like to say something about Moira, she's not against Omnics at all She got a line in King's Row where she says that the place there has such a medieval view towards Omnics. And her interaction in Circuit Royale with Sombra also implies that she'd be interested in experimenting with them as well.
Then again she also has the interaction with genji where she says she could have rebuilt him without all the chrome- speaking condescendingly of machinery. I think she sees omnics as just a plaything, so her king’s row voice line seems more to me like she’s going “why do people care so much about these things”
The reason why ramatra says the omnics are just one generation is beacuse in ow the only robots consdidered as omnics are the ones who have soul thanks to the sacrifice of aurora and this gift was only given to the robots that existed at that moment, so if new robot were to be created they wouldn't have soul or free will
The thing about Ramattra is that he isn't actually racist. He did for sure create Null sector but the truth is he just couldnt resist the discrimination towards his race. He wants to liberate omnics so everyone can live equal life. He may say some things towards other overwatch agents, but it's only because of the state that omnics are in.
25:47 Omnics weren't programmed with sentience, i'm not sure how it happend but it's explained in the symmetra and zennyatta story (something with a concious omnic sacrificing herself to give others sentence or smthn like that) Omnics that haven't been "enlighted by the iris" or something are more like the ones you can see at the casino on attack spawn on sircuit royale, or some other maps

Bastion is an omnic, and omnic means concious, he can be recoded but his freedom takes over that. You can see that on The Last Bastion. Anubis was controlling him to kill humanity and he managed to stop Anubis protocols to give space to his freedom.
This video made me weirdly realize we need more morally grey characters. In this game it’s either good guy or bad guy, need a character that’s not exactly a full on hero but not entirely a villain
Decryption relies on access to encrypted data or algorithms being exposed; if only radio equipment Bastion has is antenna blasting Big Iron 24/7 (and why wold he need anything else, really) that doesn't even listen to external signals, a first step of any hack would involve an angle grinder.
