Very few manufacturers' first car design has stood the test of time like the 356! The Speester is still the most sought after car for ads selling everything from suitcases to clothes to watches!

Sad to say, but this video sums up the gentrification of a formerly wonderful hobby. Pristinely dressed people in pristine classic cars that create a pristine profit to a pristine showroom that sells to pristine investors. About as far removed from the good old days of young enthusiasts with dirty hands having fun with cool old cars as is possible. Thank goodness Tiff is the same

I agree, but I suppose old MX-5s, Boxsters and the like are the cheapest way into sports cars for young people these days. Also there are a number of companies making replica 356 Speedsters and 550 Spyders for less than 10% the price of what the originals go for, so for true enthusiasts it probably the better option to actually drive.

@@NoPrivateProperty yeah i wanna see u after aunty Margrit completely frys ur clutch while trying to drive up a hill or when family friend Mustafa money shifts the freshly repaired gearbox to let it explode. Or when ur nephew John takes a girl out with ur car and forgets the used condoms under ur backseats. Majority of people cant be trusted and even less trusted driving ur own, beloved car. Most people are not car guys and dont know to value or treat a nice car. u must be a nutjob if u let the whole community drive ur car. do u also let the community use ur girlfriend and ur tooth brush? where is the limit? and what if the community has a different definition of limits then u? i know hippies who live in communities like this and its far from being always peacefull and respectfull. It brings other problems.
