Tiffany Poon (12) - Mozart Fantasy in d minor

I’m playing this song in a piano recital in two weeks. I’m 61 years old and retaught myself piano for three years after forgetting how to read music do to heart attacks and stroke and now I’ve been in lessons for one year. I’m trying to memorize the piece and I have 6 sections memorized and five to go. Recital is in two weeks. Teacher says I don’t need to memorize but all her students which are kids are so me being the only adult has put myself to the challenge. You are awesome Tiffany!! You play piano very well and I hope to see you in concert some day❤ I’m in Idaho, USA

Wow tiffany... this stressed me out, I'm learning this piece and Skype with my piano teacher (lockdown times...) and I am stuck in some spots I feel like I will never master this piece. I'm 22, started piano lessons at 18, and you inspired me to practice harder :)

Wow! Her fingers flow so beautifully with the music!! I thought there were a few parts where she could have held the rests a little longer so we could here the melody, but I mean she played it so well it was hard to tell!!

Quasi una Fantasia is the original name. Yes there were a few mistakes. What is most impressive though is that a 12 year old is playing much more proficient than many older adults. She is someone to watch in years to come.

Really nice interpretation. It sparkled in a generally plodding piece of music for many pianists. Changed my interpretation of the Allegretto. I still have trouble getting an acceptable ascending flow on the presto runs. So young here but truly talented.

"quasi una fantasia" means "almost a fantasy", an established name for one of the "mixed forms", that didn´t totally match the classical schemes.

I know this piece by heart and can't help to notice all the mistakes - they bother my. Sorry but I'm not impressed....it's just my opinion! I think your expectation is too high for 12 yrs old. However, I found that maturity and integrity of her overall play are unbelievable. She plays like most professional pianists who have many more years of practice and experience.
