I love how people hesitated cuz they didn't want to be hecklers. Then finally a guy subtlely yells out, "Taylor Dayne?"

Tig Notaro brings me instantaneous joy.

So I heard a Taylor Dayne song four the first time, on the radio the other day (which I only knew because of the announcer saying so as it was fading out) ~~ which immediately brought back this story of Tig's, that I'd heard a couple of years ago. 😁

NPR did two great things.... A Prarie Home Companion and introducing me to Tig Notaro via "Wait!" "Wait!" "Don't tell me!". She was on a few different NPR programs and I always loved her comedy on those shows.

So funny, I used to work in a small Ma and Pa music store in NJ. Taylor Dane used to come in often. Most of the employees there were either classical or rock musicians, so basically no one in the store knew who she was. I listened to top 40 so I knew who she but would never approach her.

Needed a laugh and reeeeally got one. Fab!

I maintain that the depiction of Kyle “on the phone” is the best part of this story.
