I checked out a bit of the website. Very cool. Would love to see more pictures of your welding art on there. I'm not on Facebook Or Instagram to check things out there. The welding course sounds like it may be a good option in the near future. For now I'm subscribed to this RU-vid channel and watching many of your videos and some from a few other channels too.
Hi Greg! Thanks for checking it out! There will be more pic uploaded in the next week or so, as a new art project will come out tomorrow on my channel here! You can also grab me on email through the form on the site:) Happy to chat anytime:)🤙
Great point on the practicing… In the fire department, we would say “We don’t practice until we get it right… We practice until we can’t get it wrong…” Thanks for the great videos!
What makes this content so good is your ability to focus on what's important, that is, the fundamentals. Many other TIG RU-vidrs often gloss over these critically important things, whereas you don't, and, moreover, you provide examples of "what to look for" when making common mistakes.... What you could also add is 'why' you do what you do, for example, why have you chosen that Tungsten diameter, why that flow rate, etc and 'what' would be likely to happen if they were changed etc. Just remember, the more information you provide the better, because as a relative beginner we are listening, eager to learn, and the more you tell us the better.. Keep up the great work! One of the best TIG channels around
I “learnt” TIG welding about 30yrs ago and really only had a bit of guidance from senior work mates. I’ve always known I’m a pretty hack TIG welder. No RU-vid to get this sort of advice in the 90s. Dusty, you are a total champ! I’ve learnt so many of the mistakes I’ve made form just a few of your vids. I am excited to buy my own machine and get back into welding and learning properly this time! Max respect brother!🤗
G'day from Australia, I have just brought ACDC tig and have a lot of learning to do. Your videos are perfect for a newbie like myself, great info, interesting and not too long. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
My friend! Aussie Aussie Aussie! My favourite country away from home! Thank you so much for checking out my channel, I really appreciate hearing that you enjoyed a vid🍻 I’ve got a few different ones on here now, so feel free to watch as many times as you want! Ive also got a website I’ll be adding how to and setup blogs to, www.pacificarctigwelding.com so check that out, and hit me up on Instagram anytime and send messages. I love helping people getting started! Glad you got into the trade! Stay in touch and cheers my friend 🍻
Hey! Great videos. Just got my Prime Weld TIG welder and all the necessary bits and pieces. Argon should arrive today, so the adventure begins. Thanks for the great videos.
Ha the only reason I speak on them is because I did them all as well!😂 Matter of fact I’m sure I could do a top 10 next! 😂only way for me to learn apparently!
I learned I was getting my tungsten too hot sharpening it and was contaminating the tungsten. Do I need to break the tungsten off if it turns blue from getting too hot during sharpening? I also turned up my post flow to 2.5 seconds from 1 second. How much post flow for 129-130 amps on mild steel.
Thank you for all the awesome videos. I'm just getting started with TIG and have been watching lots of videos. Your videos are very informative and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos ! As a new industrial millwright apprentice I’m new to welding and have tig and mid welders at work, these videos really give great insight and dumb down the process for me great work please keep these videos flowing brother !!
Very good and straight forward explanation! 👍👍👍 question : does anyone make a pencil/marker that won’t effect your tig weld? This way you could draw straight lines and follow them for practice.
Number 2 - I needed this. Couldn’t understand why my tungsten was black even with high post flow. I was removing it from the weld rather than waiting till the gas shut off.
+Adrian's Wood and Metal Hobbies Yes! Makes total sense hey!? If you run a long tungsten stick out like I do, it’s even more susseptable to this problem. And I STILL do it all the time 😂 I’m Still learning after 17 years apparently...!
Dang thank you man! I genuinely wish that too... not to hype my own videos, but I struggled for years with small stuff like this. Would be nice to cut someone’s learning curve down a bit:)
Hey thanks for these useful videos which caused me to binge watch for the past 5 hours. Is there anyway you can show us how to weld intercooler pipes or something similar?
Hey! Thank you so much and I’m super glad you enjoyed! That’s a topic I haven’t looked into doing, yet I’m sure people would appreciate it, perhaps I’ll look into it and see! I really appreciate you reaching out- ideas for episodes are always welcome! Cheers to you! Dusty
Thank you! I've already considered remaking this episode, as I've got lots more ideas of how to fix more common mistakes that I can help people with. I'm glad you enjoyed! And thank you for reaching out! Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I have a question. So I have a lift arc welding machine. A miller multimatic 215. How do I lift arc without touching the tungsten to the material?
Ha awesome! Weld guru status!;) I’m really glad you enjoy the vids- it’s a very difficult art to learn, but with enough time and practice, as well as a good teacher, you can absolutely learn and become really skilled at it. Please feel free to hit me up with questions, let me know how it goes! :) Where are you located?
@@PacificArcTigWelding thank you for your quick reply, I am in Ontario Canada. I bought recently a a small TIG Chinese machine DC and I am not sure if machine is not working properly or my skills are not enough to start with. To run machine without argon is possible? The arc cannot stay on no more than 2 seconds ..any help with that please?
Hi dusty.. nice video. Verry helpfull for me as a beginner. One question, when my tungsten was contaminated, did I cut it off or I jus grinding it to sharp again?
Been watching you for a while and your awesome. I bought a used Eastwood Tig 200 and cannot get it to weld Aluminum. I'm clean, new gas lens, changed out my Argon, good pre and post flow and I still get white powder all around my puddle as soon as i touch the aluminum. It smokes my tungsten and white powders my cup and lens. Please tell me What is going on? Thanks, Keith
I think im going to make a video on how to sharpening tungsten with a drill and angle grinder. As people should own those tools and might not own a belt sander yet or have access to one. I use designated flap disk for tungsten. I marked it with a sharpie on both side so I don't accidentally use it on other metals. I went through 12 tungsten this morning. The first one ruined was me flipping the torch off the welding table I'm building. Not how I wanted to start my day!
@@PacificArcTigWelding you are more than welcome to also make that video as I don't have a channel started and yours would help more people. I use 3 small pieces of 2x4's on wooden table then toenail screws in the sides to secure the angle grinder. A piece of electrical tape across the handle to prevent it from vibrating out from the blocks. Then grind 10ish tungsten at a time. Well because I only have 12 tungsten. Is the CK Lazer tungsten a good on all metals tungsten? I'm thinking about buying some.
GREAT question. It is strictly for keeping your tungsten healthy. If you are welding steel however, it is for both. Your steel weld will be glowing just as your tungsten is, so both need shielding:) Usually with steel you will run a longer post flow, as the material will glow longer than the tungsten, so just adjust accordingly:) Hit me up with any more questions! Weld on!
@@Crawlerjamie AHAHAHA Sorry I assumed you meant 'see the shop, dogg.' I listen to too much rap haha. Yes I will show the elusive Shop dog name Frank more often :))))
