When he's playing any tournament, there's a different feeling. Just walking on the course you can feel it. Seen him many times, the air is filled with excitement. Love the man ⛳
All the others have their place. But no one changed the game like tiger did. The man won a major with 2 badly injured legs. Courses were redesigned because of his length..... it's not a discussion imo. And I love jack. Hogan. Hagen. Jones etc etc.
Huge advancements in equipment led to courses being redesigned because everybody was hitting it longer. What separated Tiger is his superior short game. I respect the opinion that Tiger is the GOAT, there is plenty evidence to support it. But to say it isn't even a discussion is absurd. Despite Tiger being tops in multiple stats, Jack still leads multiple categories too, especially pertaining to majors. Jack faced tougher competition as well. I hear plenty of people say Tiger has faced a deeper field, but if you do the research it just isn't the case. But if you have some better argument on why it isn't even a discussion who is the GOAT and why, I'd like to hear it. The course redesign thing and winning the US Open injured isn't convincing enough.
O. G. The young Tiger did not have many friends on tour. He was so focused and it rubbed some the wrong way. But it's what he was. When at his best he was 10 shots better than everyone else. When he wasn't he was still able to grind to wins.
Tiger, lost nearly10 years in his prime due to injuries both physical and mental, if he had played those years his majors wins would be well past 20 and his PGA wins would be well past 100.....GREATEST GOLFER WHO HAS EVER LIVED NOT EVEN CLOSE....
You're right: Tiger COULD have won more majors than Jack if things had worked out differently. He didn't though. Maybe he will win three more majors and catch Jack? Time will tell.
@@SimpleEats35 This is ridiculous and foolish. Do "would have/could have" arguments work for you in your workplace? I bet not. By the way, how many majors do you suppose Jack Nicklaus would have/could have won if he hadn't been plagued by debilitating hip injuries throughout his career? I don't suppose you knew about that, right? Look into it; it's not a secret. The fact remains that Jack - in spite of his injuries - managed to win 18 majors during his career. Tiger - in spite of his injuries - managed to win 15 of them. 18 is greater than 15; Jack is the GOAT. Tiger can't even play any longer so I don't see how he's gonna win three more to tie Jack, but the guy certainly is tough and driven so I guess we'll have to wait and see. My advice: don't hold your breath waiting. Jack's record is safe. He'll be golf's GOAT until the end of time. NOBODY will EVER win 18 majors again, much less 19. And you can take that to the bank!
What made tiger woods so great with his father teaching him since the early age since age 2 was because they gave him a golf club inside his baby crib since a day is born the guy was practicing in his baby crib and went to bed with the golf club this train these people from day one to the present to make him champions
Tiger is goat imo. But if someone says jack I don’t think they are crazy or anything. The one thing you can’t argue is jack and tiger are 1-2 no matter which order you put them in. I think everyone would agree whichever you don’t consider the goat, great still isn’t enough. Both of these guys are beyond legendary.
Finally a sensible comment. I still give the nod to Jack, but it's close. If Tiger ends up winning a couple more majors, then he will be the GOAT imo. But it irritates me to see people say "there is no discussion" or "it's not even close." That's just absurd.
Its hard to NOT wonder how many more wins and majors he would've had if not for all the injuries and personal problems that robbed him of 6 or 7 years... he very easily could have about 100 wins and 20 majors by now...
There is a huge difference between good, great, and fucking goat. You have to separate those players. 79 wins talks, he has changed the game forever, so many people, including my golf coach, have been inspired by him. People can say whatever they want, eldrick woods is the goat
Before Tiger's self-inflicted drama, we all anticipated Jack's majors record to fall. Jack fully expected this too and he stated this publicly at the time. In light of all of Tiger's self-inflicted drama, Jack now publicly sings an entirely different tune.
Tiger is the GOAT.. not even a question.. Nicholas accomplishments are very impressive but different era.. back then greens stimpmeters average on tour was 10
Actually 8 to 9 tops. The only greens that slow on the PGA Tour is Spyglass Hills, which is one of rotation courses used in the Pebble Beach event. Spyglass is straight up the road about a half mile from Pebble. It is harder to play as well. Part of the difficulty is the speeds of the greens. The pros don't play 9 stimp courses. They play courses that are 11 and 12 stimp. The US Open gets up to 17 at times. I love Spyglass. I've played it dozens of times. It's half the price of Pebble. Easy to get on too. I bet half my rounds there it was so empty, I didn't see another person while playing. I have yet to play as a foursome there. Most times I get paired up with a single. At times I've played alone. I absolutely love the first 5 holes. I hit a draw and the first hole is a forced draw around the corner to a down slope fairway, so I get smoking run out. It's a par 5, and I have had plenty of attempts at eagle. The green has a huge green. There is a flat spot in the back left-hand side. Its a weird tier, as it drops below most of the putting green level. If you ever get out there, play Spyglass. You will never regret it I promise. Most of the time when I played it was about $135. I always buy a new cap because they embroider your name on the back. at reasonable prices. Not a big pro shop like Pebble, but more intimate. There isn't a range to warm up, but about half way from Pebble there is a range on the right hand side of the road. Stop there are warm up. Spyglass does have a practice green to the left of the clubhouse, and they keep it at the same stimp as the course. Tough course, so be ready to do some heavy thinking. Watch out for the third and four holes... DANGER WILL ROBINSON. There is ice plant, and you are not hitting it out of that stuff. lol Have fun... it makes for a great experience, and it too is a PGA Tour course, kept in pristine condition at all times.
How good was Ben Hogan could the old guy said today with the better clubs stood up against the tiger woods could they how good was the those guys back in the 40s
Just my opinion, but he is the "greatest of his generation" but Jack is the GOAT. My two arguments are in the competition and the Majors. Tiger never faced an Arnold ,Gary ,Tom ,Billy Casper ,just to name a few. And as to the Majors, while it is true that Jack has only a 3 win difference(18-15) while Tiger had 7 finishes of 2nd or 3rd, Jack had 19.
Tiger didn't have anyone who won anything, rocco ,billy Mays? I mean these were not gary player palmer , Trevino, tiger won because he played awesome nut the men he played against choked every single time
There is exactly one reason that Tiger is not the GOAT. Jack has 18 majors while Tiger has 15. As such, Jack is the confirmed GOAT - an indisputable fact.
i don't think you can have a 'greatest' in any sport. to single-out a single individual is to neglect those you paved the way for those who came before. i think the best way to categorize 'greatest' is in eras. jack nicklaus is the greatest of the last era and tiger is the greatest for the modern era. you should only ever put players like these into their own greatest group. jack and tiger are in their own super elite group with only two members. well that's what i think anyway.
In golf, the GOAT is the player who has won the most major tournaments. Jack has 18; Tiger has 15. Jack is the GOAT and this would be true even if he was green and even if everybody hates the game. Aside from envying his massive bank balance, there are probably not so many people who would want to be Tiger. Would YOU want your kids and your mom to know in explicit detail what kind of deviant sleaze-bag Tiger is? (or was assuming that he is now reformed) Would you want everybody to know about your illegal abuse of prescription medications? Would you want to have a leg that is so ruined (Because of your own terrible choices) that simply walking is extremely painful? Would you want to have to face the fact that your piss-poor decision making has ruined your chances of attaining your lifelong dream of surpassing Jack's golf records? Maybe you would! After all, if you could be Tiger, you'd have a huge house and a jet and a yacht, but you will never be the GOAT. Sorry.
Easy question: Since 18 is greater than 15, Jack is the GOAT and Tiger is Great. If/when Tiger wins 3 more majors, he will become the GOAT and Jack will be demoted to Great.
Hmmm, Palmer was the first great, He was surpassed by Jack. Nobody thought there would be someone better than Jack, who, by the way has less wins than Snead. Tiger will pass Snead next season and be the winningest golfer of all time as well as the best player of all time. He brings more to the game than the other did. Top 5- Tiger, Bear, Snead, Hogan, AP.
chessman19 pretty good for his first showing in a few years. And many years not healthy. Keep in mind he’s playing against the top dogs in the world...who the fuck r u
