Tim, I went down to my hunting lease yesterday. They are cutting timber on the 5000 acres we lease. The timber guys were good enough to let me go by them and get one of my ladder stands off of a pine tree I’m sure they were going to cut. On the way out, I stoped and talked to one of guys. He told me I could watch if I would not get in the way. I took him up on it. It is really amazing to watch. He even pulled a couple of small red oaks up close so we could use them for firewood at the camp. Super people. Thanks. Y’all have a good-un!
If you let me come to MS and play with your hotsaw I will let you come to NC and play with my dangle head..... wait a minute that didn't sound right....lol
Man I could watch this all day long good stuff for sure. Bet Derrick gonna check his pants after that... Keep up the good videos and be safe out there.
That was a great video. Love to watch him cut them tree. He is great at it has some fast hands and thinking to save it like that. Stay safe and. God bless you'll.
My dad had a friend that cut small under brush and chipped it on site for fuel wood. He worked in Mississippi and Alabama. They would ahead of timber crews before the timber was cut, they said that by doing this the under growth would not come back as fast. Are there anyone still doing that?
You don’t need to keep an eye on the fuel usage on that 635. I bet if you were running two skidders using less fuel they’d still work out using more than just it by itself to pull the same amount of wood.
Running the same Machine in northern California right now and I know that feeling he just got. Watched his videos of steep ground cutting t get an idea of how to cut here. I'm from Florida I'm used to swamps not these mountains I've been cutting monster fir and ponderosa pine they heavy heavy
You have one seriously efficient logging business. My wife is a book keeper for a logging company here in SC and shows some of your videos to her boss.
I'm originally from the mountains of South Western Virginia, the Appalachian coal fields. Even though most of the timber must be hand cut. You can use a track buncher in some places. What I would do is run the dozer out ahead and punch little roads in to the steep timber, that helped the buncher man a lot. Of course now that I log down South, I don't have to do things like that to often anymore.
That viewer that said...why do you keep showing those videos.... Tell him to come up with is own RU-vid show. You keep showing these videos...... Awsome Take care of from New Hampshire
Fantastic video Tim !!! You can make 6 hour videos of the 635 bogey skidder and feller. Y’all got 2 good operators there. The audio is almost like being there. Keep’em coming
Awesome video Tim, man those big machines are really impressive and you guys are a well oiled machine the way you work together. You made a comment about you wished everybody could be there and watch that operation in person that would really be something. Good stuff man. Be safe and have a great day. 👍
Knowing where you are cutting, it amazes me seeing Derick and Chad move those machines around in the gullies/ ravines. Talk about torque monsters and top notch operators.
I was in my community colleges heavy logging equipment training program a little over a year ago, and while I was in the processor, a forked tree snuck up on me and I barely hit the stop button in time before the fork hit the knife’s on the Waratah head.
I love watching yall with the equipment and would love to come out and see in person this one time I'm fixing to try and get my own blogging outfit started and would love to see it all in person one day if you dodnt mind sir showing me I've got a good friend that logs and hes busy all the time and I don't want to be in nobody's way I would love for somebody to show me the equipment and walk me. Threw this from start to start game by frame and what's needed to get started in the business not to take away from nobody but just to see thanks and keep you're great videos come I watch bout all of youres their great thanks and have a great day ok
So 100 gallons of fuel a day and if you pull 20 loads that day that’s only 5 gallons a load. That’s pretty friggin good! That’s about the same or slightly better fuel consumption per load as a 540 cable skidder!
Good looking machines. On that buncher does the house have a manifold like a excavator so it can 360 or is it like a Timbco were you can swing all the way around but have to swing back the other way to keep from pulling the hoses apart?
😱 YA, I'll bet there was a BRAIN FLASH when that track came up😵😊 What is that undergrowth vine o them trees? NICE CLOSe-UP COVERAGE Tim !!!!👌👍👍👍 KEEP THEM CHIPS FLYING 😍😍😍😍😍
???? -- In the Tigercat LX830D, are there track and tip sensors in the cab to show how close a tip-over might be (like a warning system)? It looks like with a self-leveling cab it might be difficult to tell if the machine is about to tip. ????
For all the experienced tree felling guys out there. And girls. Ive run a chainsaw quite a bit because we burn a lot of wood every year and I have a husqvarna 455 that I use the most along with a stihl ms310. I have a few trees that need to be dropped, the one has a back lean. Any advice before I tackle this? And is the bore technique for the more experienced? Thank you, keep the great content coming man. Ive been watching a lot of your stuff to get schooled.
This video will make you think twice about cutting a dead tree!!!!! I've got five post oak trees to do but I will not be cutting them until I have a spotter and or a young pair of legs that can run!!!!! I LOVE me some TigerCat videos.
I thought about moving back home and pull logs after my last truck payment in August. That rain dictates how much you work and that's kinda scary for me being long haul for so many years
I bet that tightened Derrick's old sphincter up! Or he needed to change his shorts. I would have been changing my shorts shorts had it been me. Great video!
