i just came here to see if anyone else felt that this cover strongly rivaled the original. i keep listening to them side by side and the drums are much more pronounced in tigers jaw's cover, and gaaaahhh the guitar standing in as the keys is EVERYTHING. soooo good. tigers jaw is my favorite band, and i love fleetwood mac. this song makes me so happy.
Same, I love both bands, and I think this is my fav song by both of them. Stevie and Adams' voices couldn't be more different but they're both amazing.
So I'm back, to the velvet under ground Back to the floor, that I love To a room with some lace and paper flowers Back to the gypsy... that I was And it all comes down to you Well, you know that it does And lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice Oh, and it lights up the night And you see your gypsy You see your gypsy To th gypsy that remains faces freedom with a little fear I have no fear, I have only love And if I was a child And the child was enough Enough for me to love Enough to love She is dancing away from me now She was just a wish She was just a wish And a memory is all that is left for you now You see your gypsy You see your gypsy Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you And it all comes down to you Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes I have always loved you And it all comes down to you
Always find my self here ! I love this song a bunch. It reminds me when I was 13 and there was this older girl that I really liked and she and I always flirted till the sunset and walk each other back to our neighborhood I wanted her so bad but I was moving away so I never told her how much I liked her.
@@JaredOLantern Okay, good, it's not just me. The singing doesn't do it for me at all. Although I don't agree even the instrumental work is as good as the original. That at least can be just a different style, but I don't feel the vocals at all.
I love this song although I really want to hear Brianna sing it. It would add more of a softer tone and maybe adam do the harmonies. That would be sweet!
I love Tigers Jaw but thats a pretty bold statement. Adam McIlwee has a good voice, but its really only good for the style of music his band plays. Stevie Nicks' voice is ACTUALLY good. Still a cool cover though
Undoubtedly the original is the best. However, this is a COVER. It doesn't necessarily need to sound like the original. Tigers Jaw did it the Tigers Jaw way with the Tigers Jaw sound. If you prefer Fleetwood, listen to that. TJ fans will stay here and listen to this.
love this cover. listened to this song many times and I'm now just connecting it to an experience I had where I hit it off unexpectedly with this totally beautiful girl at the bar. she was stunning. and kind and interesting. she even told me straight up "I like you" 5 minutes after we left and asked if the girl I was with was my girlfriend. I was like oh, nah. totally fuckin clueless. we had a great little conversation but I was so blind to the fact that she could have been interested in me I ended up missing some signals from her and for some reason didn't push past polite conversation. I hadn't really been in a situation like that before because I'm very shy. I unfortunately lost track of her and all of my friends later told me "you were doing so well, what happened?" and that i'd fucked up. I don't go out to bars anymore, but maybe I will see her again one day. she made me feel really good about myself even during our short conversation and was so cool. she was just endless you, could say lol.
This song is like an iphone screen turned to maximum darkness trying to outshine the sun. totally devoid of anything nice sounding. Even in a DIY indie rock way this song is truly disarmingly abominable.
I don't like Adam's voice in most TJ songs, but for some reason I do like this one. I can completely understand why some people would hate it. This song would have been better if Brianna sang the whole thing.
This is a far superior version to the original, Stevie Nicks sounds like someone strangling a cat and she's forcing the vocals far too much, this is subdued, clean and the harmonies and mix just sound so much better.
More so than this being a bad cover, this is just a bad release. Why didn't anyone in the studio say "wait, we need to rerecord the vocals, you're singing out of key." Was there anyone in the studio who listened to the vocal take and honestly thought to themselves "Nailed it"? I certainly would've had him redo the whole thing. Instrumental was good, but my god redo that fucking vocal take because Fleetwood Mac deserves better.
