If you love baseball, if you really do, you have to be willing to have your heart broken time and time again. Yet sometimes, there are those great games, single games out of a 162 game season that truly restore hope not just in your team, but in life. As a Tigers fan, as a baseball fan, as a human fan, this was one of those moments worth remembering.
One great thing about the Tigers is there are fans allll over the place. Right up there with yanks and Red Sox and a lot of people don’t realize that. Watch any tigers road game and you’ll always get a huge crowd response for them.
Such a top heavy team. Could’ve made noise in the playoffs. Just gave Mike Aviles wayy too many AB’s Also how the hell did Al Avila think Mike Pelfrey was a major league pitcher deserving of not only a roster spot on a playoff contender, but $10 million too?!?
I wasn't watching the game, so I looked at the score on the MLB app and saw that the Tigers were down 7-2 in the 9th, and I didn't want to watch it, until I got the notification that the Tigers made it 7-5, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time
Man just seeing who was coming up to bat after each guy, that tigers team was stacked. Shame they couldn't win it all, but still some fun years in Detroit for sure!!
I miss them too. Hopefully the announcers that come after shep and whoever else does a good job because I listen to the radio while I watch now. Dan dickerson is the best.
I remember waking up during this game at about the same exact moment this video started. This was pretty awesome lol. I miss Maybin! Also Kinsler absolutely flying at 2:47 lol
Tonight's 9th inning Grand Slam right up there with this one.. probably bigger since San Diego is a great team and had the Tigers shut out and down to the final strike! Meadows Grand Slam!
I remember this game, but not for the reason you might think. I watched this game on TV as it was happening. The score was 7-2 and it was getting a bit late so I shut the tv off and went to bed, thinking welp we lost another one. When I woke up in the morning, I saw that the tigers had won and shouted "What?!" so loud I woke up my boyfriend next to me. He was kinda ankoyed at me when I told him what happened but amused as well. Im sad I missed that comeback live, but at least I can watch the video of it years later.
I miss Mario and Rod. This is prime commentary and I miss it. I can't stand Matt Shephard and I really don't like Gibbys commentary although he does have extreme knowledge of the game. I met gibby while I was working at Gilbert's lodge and asked for an autograph. He was nice and had no issue but man he should not do color commentary.

I put that on Kevin Cash even more than the players. That’s just really poor game management. Cash has learned a ton since that game, he’s a much, much better manager now.
