Hi mike glad the video helped you out. My technique is not very full proof but what I tend to do is listen to the track and sort of air guitar playing along with it and hopefully get the rhythm correct and then try it with my guitar along with the song and see if it kinda matches. Now there are programs that can separate the vocals from the track making it a bit easier to hear the music. Sorry mike it's not a very scientific way of doing it and probably not very helpful but I wish you all the best.
