I know this isn't much but, Tigran Hamasyan was my best friend's favorite artist. He introduced me to your music two years ago. He first had me listen to The Grid in his car which at the time was so weirdly musical to me but was so otherworldly that I thought I'd never listen to it again. It is now my most listened to track. My friend took his own life on 5/21 of this year. This track, The Kingdom, was the last song we've ever listened to together. Tigran, this is an absolute masterpiece. You have no idea how much I appreciate this track. Thank you.
Tigran is the only person I know who can make music that sounds simultaneously like the most chaotic unorganized nonsense imaginable and also some of the most beautiful melodies and harmonies among the chaos
I've listened to this probably 50 times already and it's been out 3 weeks. I love this piece of music so much. It's invaded my life, I think about it often throughout my day.
Animals as Leaders? King Crimson on steroids? No! It is Tigran Hamasyan. This amazing man is full of musical surprises, and yes, I can hear the KINGDOM coming ... and I enjoy it
Tigran, Areni, Nate, the dream team from The Shadow Theater is back and this single is just already an amazingly inventive piece of music ! I can't stand for the entire album !! :)
LOL, your description is brilliant. This tune is like the opposite of The Consouls who brilliantly turn vgm that sounds somewhat like this into acoustic jazz.😊 Edit: they also love a bit of odd meter
I think ... it is somewhat difficult to say ... I was caught up in the moment ... that I heard you perform this awesome piece in Boulder ... FANTASTIC!
20/8(3,3,3,3,2,3,3) i.e. _long, long, long, long, short, long, long._ Later around 1:55 every other bar shifts the short beat ahead by one: 20/8(3,3,3,3,3,2,3). Only times they break away from the 20/8 are at 0:53 and 2:39 when they play a short 20/16(5,5,5,5) as a transitional bar. I wonder if the game will use rhythm mechanics/puzzles?
this is just my opinion but I think the main 40/16 can be called 20/8 because the subdivisions never stray from the 3+3+3+3+2+3+3, but keeping the 20/16 the same because of the odd subdivisions, except for the 3+3+3+3+3+2+3, but the principle is the same.
@@Isalick34To clarify, you’re saying you’d keep those transitional bars with the 5,5,5,5 20/16 but make everything else 20/8? Yeah, I like your thinking. That way everything is 20. Edited my comment now.
Could be Arthur here. The orchestration sounds like him. But then again Nate could be on this. Matt Garstka is involved with this new project (he's credited in the official site). Maybe Garstka is just playing some dates.
