I remember the days of old, in our Great War, when our forces fought to destroy the normies’ evil ways. Their fight was valiant, and those fighting it held their heads high, leading the troops into glorious battle. We were winning... but what happened? Little by little, our munitions fell, our forces diminished, our morale plummeted... By the end, it was just me and my squadron, isolated and alone in the vast battlefield of insolence and ignorance. We fought to spread the enlightenment of knowledge and clever jokes... But we learned on that day the hard way that our cause was not the steady state. That what we believed... Could not exist in the majority. No matter how right we were, no matter how woke we were, people didn’t want to give effort. More and more of our men simply... vanished... Until there was no more. We, and in spirit, our ideology, were left to die. We were forgotten... The worst kind of death. I still live to this day, remembering the smell of victory, the laughing and joking, the most fond memories of fighting for what we believed in... What we still believe in. I still dream about what could have happened if we had continued, our great combined effort to destroy the hold of the normies on the people of this cyberscape. One day, there may be a new generation, a brave generation, one who is willing to follow in our footsteps and take back what once was ours. But that day will not come for many a year. For now, we must lie in the shadows... Contemplating... Pondering... Regretting... Hoping. Hoping for a renewed promise of gamerdom.
