Everyone loves to talk about the British Museum and the treasures, they've taken, but don't let this distract you from the fact that the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in NYC has a whole EGYPTIAN TEMPLE! Though it wasn't actually stolen! The reason it's there is interesting! During the 1960s, Egypt was building the Aswan Dam, but this caused flooding to many ancient structures so UNESCO launched a campaign to save different temples and relocate them. The US contributed 16 million dollars towards saving them, and as a thank you, Egypt presented the temple as a gift, and President Johnson awarded the temple to the Met, where it has been exhibited since 1978. It's called the Temple of Dendur, and it was built by Petronius during the Roman period. It was commissioned by Augustus and dedicated to the goddess Isis. When it was relocated to the Met, they had to build a whole new wing for it!
Yes they put the strawberries on the tree. Strawberries don't grow like that. Strawberries are in the rose family Rosaceae and they are like a bush but something called a forb which has non-woody stems. That place in China that looked like London might've just been a garbage dump, but there ARE places in China that are straight up copycats of European places. Within the city of Huizhou is a copy of Hallstatt in Austria. Tianducheng is a copy of Paris, but the development is surrounded by farmlands and remains sparsely populated, the large Parisian streets are virtually empty. And then there's Suzhou which has different inspirations. It has an accurate copy of Tower Bridge but unlike the actual Tower Bridge, it doesn't have a raising mechanism to allow boats to pass underneath. It also accommodates its own Sydney Harbour Bridge and Paris's Pont Alexandre III Bridge, and even a Dutch Town with windmills and Dutch-style housing.
I remember me and my girlfriend watched revenge of the sith and she wanted to do the naughty's half way through. I said after the movie was done. By the end, after watching her favourite characters killed or badly burned, she wasn't exactly 'in the mood' anymore
The only fun thing I did in Primark was play tag, go up and down the escalator and go up and down the lift while waiting for a friend, security began to follow us so we promptly left.
How dare you the GOAT of cereal toys were the Horrible Histories audio books and the DC educational computer games and nobody will ever convince me otherwise x
10:32 hate to be the one to say it, but this is literally how footage in 2014 looked when its stretched or upscaled to a modern phone screen, I literally have old snaps in this quality and back then had the current iphone.😂
Those bonfires were normal when I was a kid before health and safety took over you literally had to stay 50ft away cos of the extreme heat now schools near me have videos of bonfires on big screens what has happened to us ,they used to get so big the council would turn up 2wks before to remove them cos the massive pile of crap ready to be burnt was getting out of hand
