I'm not sure whether that video was real or not, but I've seen a glitch in Zoom before where the mute didn't work every time. I've noticed it happening more on my phone (Android) than pc. Though they may have fixed the bug, as I've not seen it in a while. Now if I need to be sure that I'm muted on pc I disable my mic in settings to be sure. While using the app on Android I'm careful even if the icon indicates that I'm muted.

Lol the zoom thing doesn’t make sense. Unless it was specific so that they can choose to hear. Imagine all the background noise. It hard enough with one student who forget their mic is on. Also would have to be some sorta of 3rd party thing because zoom would be caught in a lawsuit for communication privacy laws. But lastly. I can’t believe even half the teacher would know that was a feature if so consider the professors I had in zoom couldn’t figure out how to unmute, transfer host, join the meeting as host, figure out breakout rooms, or share screens. Sure didn’t all happen at once but I always had a professor struggle with one of those problems throughout the semester.

When i worked in tree trimming we would use either brake fluid or unleaded gas to clean the gunk off of our chainsaws. So gas does have cleaning purposes just not something that you will start immediately causing a spark that sets everything on fire.
