'Freedom To Sing' was recorded & filmed LIVE at Illuminati Superclub in Tauranga during NZ Music Month in May 2011. This song is about Tiki's experiences, from his controversial arrest by Tauranga Police in April 2011. Tiki was handcuffed, arrested & detained in jail for singing NWAs "F@#k Da Police" during his R18 concert at Illuminati, and was charged with "inciting violence." The charge was later dropped & the Police admitted there was a "misunderstanding".

Brother Tiki, its people like you and waiata like this that really help me step out of my comfort zone and express who I am through music without worrying what anyone has to say. @100travy - Hey there, If getting handcuffed & arrested for singing NWA's rap anthem "F@#K Da Police" at a private R18 concert is not an abuse of human rights, then times have really changed. I have been hand cuffed and send to jail for playing music and yr song this one was played in court. Our council put an injunction not to play music that could be heard outside at any time of day or night.

Remember Tiki never wrote "F@#K Da Police", he only sings the song at his private R18 concert in which adults only are in attendance. He was arrested because a Police Officer was offended. Have you heard his "Starship Lullaby" song which he wrote for Starship Childrens Hospital.? All proceeds from the download go to Starship. All the best.

@MinkBomb - Yes indeed it was "self defense" because the corrupt Sheriff was trying to take him down. Just like NWA's song "F@#K Da Police" was in self defense against the LA Police for beating up, arresting & some times killing the youth of Compton. Go Tiki! Cool as ice and twice the fun.. Someone has to speak up for the disenfranchised, and give the underdogs a voice; ok, so swearing etc isn't that cool, but get real, that's what life is like for a lot of people out there; words don't create violence any more than guns kill - people do that.
