As someone who has a fear of tight spaces and can't hold their breath for that long, this is the single most horrifying thing I have ever seen. Just thinking about it scares me a bit
okay, so, looking at it, it LOOKS worse than it is, there is evidently a current, because he ZOOMS out the other side and without much movement. To get stuck in there, you'd REALLY have to try.
There was always a lifeguard watching which could drain the whole slide in about 3 seconds if something went wrong. Unfortunatly the slide was removed due to high maintenance costs.
Went through this many years ago whilst staying at the theme park , only myself and my dad did it . I have no fear of the water and consider myself a good swimmer but even so I thought it was nuts !! Never be anything like that again for obvious modern health and safety concerns. Shame really!
It would either continue throughout, but it’s a short ride, but if someone happened to not fully make it through the slide has operated to drain itself in case. It was removed because of the fact that some people would panic halfway.
This reminds me of 3 Rocks on the naches river in Yakima. It's 2 huge boulders right next to each other and a tiny hole you can fit through but the current creates suction so you get stuck going in-between the boulders. I went through once and it was enough for me lol
I thought it was a cool idea. Just because you think it’s bad doesn’t mean that the designers deserve a lawsuit. In fact I think the designers should be applauded for implementing a cool scientific principle into a waterslide.
Father Filth I don’t know if you’re a complete moron or you’re just not using common sense. The slide if full of WATER, I repeat...W.A.T.E.R. Anyone could drown in that thing for Christ sake. What if there was a malfunctioning? 🤦♂️ The science for this thing is bs and the designers are nothing but pure stupid.
Gellert Grindelwald If anyone drowns from being underwater for 10-15 seconds, then they shouldn’t be at a water park, they should be in an ICU at the hospital. Not to mention the slide was outfitted with a safety mechanism that could clear the whole thing in around 5 seconds, not that much time considering you can go over 3 minutes without breathing and live. If you did the tiniest google search you could figure out that the science isn’t actually BS, it’s the same principle behind pimples siphoning. The second pool is lower than the first one, so gravity does it’s thing and brings water down through the tube into the lower pool taking you with it. The designers of this slide are not in fact stupid, I would even guess they have years of experiance in physics and engineering, something you clearly don’t have since you clearly have no idea how this slide works.
Father Filth You can go along researching and using science to support your argument for as long as I care, but there’s no denying that this slide is still dangerous either way 🤷♂️
Gellert Grindelwald well alright, if you don’t want to look at the science behind this perfectly fine and safe slide then that’s your loss, it’s a cool science principle you can try at home but I can tell I’m not swaying your opinion. Science says this slide is safe but if you don’t agree that’s alright.
