"Gentile Kelipot can only descend into Nothingness and cannot undergo Rectification (Tikkun)-the ascent of Epistrophé back to the One. When the Sparks outside of Gentile Kelipot are Rectified through Tikkun Olam, the Kelipot of Gentiles which composes Gentile's Dark Souls is annihilated through the Deprivation of the Light which gave it Form. Eating the fruit of judgment means building an attachment to your concept of right and wrong. Forgiveness is spitting out that fruit. Grace means leaving it on the tree (or "reserving judgment").
With the deepest respect, I would push back against the notion that there is a desire in Jewish tradition for a “return to Eden” (any more than there would be a desire to return to the womb). We are MEANT to understand the nature of good and evil, and to be in the wide world in which we are exposed to (and can be the authors of) both. Tikkun olam is not, I think, a response to an unfortunate mistake of having gained knowledge, but rather the reason we come to exist.
Didn't the people that destroy the temple think they were doing good and making the world better? No culture in the world promotes being bad. You need to explain what good is....
