Tiktok Algorithm update ( June/July 2020 )
The recent algorithm update has impacted small and large Tiktok content creators (Tiktokers). Many are experiencing drop/low in views
In this video, I review the recent update in the Tiktok Algorithm by commenting on a tutorial video I posted on June 6, 2020. Over a period of 10 days, I observe and share the video behaviour.

The new Algorithm ( June /2020 ) is so confusing ... I have a video that is 9 seconds long with 9 seconds Average watch Time and it didn't even make on the For you Page

I personally have noticed the same. I’d have to make more research on this topic, but most videos I’ve seen on my FYP are also min. 13 sec.... nothing shorter

Same here!! My last three vids only 1 actually have “some” likes from the fyp. The other two vids are only from my followers. Granted it’s only been 24 hours but it’s a big diff from what I was used to. Seems like it’s harder to get on fyp or something

thank you, i have definitely noticed my views are way down but only in like the last 3 days.. some videos are picking up more over time but im not getting that explosion on a typically good and well received video anymore. really quite annoying!!!

Same! I did have one lately that got over 100k and the stats are interesting but it’s all over the place

All is speculative, but yes.. since lots of people joined they had no choice. Another speculation would be the monetization..

I’m actually disappointed. I’ve gained 27k followers in 2months organically, by having multiple videos going viral (2mil views). Now something has changed, and I’m lucky to get 100 views in an hour. It later goes up to a 1000 in a day. And that’s about it. Massive reduction in appearing on For you page. I also had couple videos taken down wrongfully, I appealed and they got re-instated except for one. But that one never broke any guidelines anyway, but it seems tiktok is removing my videos for some un-existent problem? I’m worried this may affect my video views, but none of them broke any guidelines to begin with. I am quite lost and it doesn’t make any sense?

Hi Berta, I really appreciate your comment. You’re not alone and I’m not sure we will see the old TikTok again. I’ve also been experiencing the same thing. Although, i did have videos where They exceeded expectations. I have yet to crack the code. I’ll be working very hard in the coming days to make this happen. Trying to find a formula to works. In my case, I have noticed that TikTok is no longer pushing my content to the countries where I have the most following. My content is being pushed locally now... a big change as I only have 6% of my following that are local. In other words I have to rebuild a following :) don’t give up and thanks for watching. I hope my next video will help more people like you :)

Thank you for your response! I havefollowed you on here and tik tok as well. Really keen to see your findings. My audience is local so it remained the same for me (I live in the UK). But I have tested my viral content by re-uploading and it underperformed like my other videos do. I’ve done it multiple time’s with same results, so am sure now it’s not the content itself necessarily. But I’m not gonna lie, my content is not particularly unique either. Will keep my eyes for your further videos! :)

My question is 🤔 if you happen to post your video in the wrong time (you said for you best it s 11 i think) and video get stuck in a « less than 10 views », should I private it / erase it and try another time later?

Nienna Surion à few options there. 1. Just leave it alone, it might be under review. 2. Private it and put it Public again later. I would try to avoid deleting it but that could be the 3rd option
