I have tried several recipes that include hashbrowns and the problem I always come up with is it is never the crispy texture that you get from hashbrowns it ends up just being potato mush, and it’s not appetizing at all
You have to cook the hash browns first to get them crispy, then they won't turn into mush on you. I would put the hash browns between the biscuits and the sausage, unless you make your gravy the proper way (incorporating the sausage into homemade gravy, instead of a mix), then do biscuits, hash browns, eggs, then gravy.
It blows my mind that on all these videos no one knows the correct way to make sausage gravy. Why kind of psychopath makes the sausage and gravy separate? It’s just wrong and bizarre to me. The proper way: After you brown your sausage, you sprinkle the flour all over the sausage and you mix that together until each crumble of sausage is coated with flour. Once you brown the flour you pour in your milk. Then you add your pepper and/or sage (whatever seasoning you want). You’re welcome.
