My heart hurts for Melanie. You can see the pain in her eyes. It’s SO sad. The way Miranda is so cold towards her. Miranda posted a video the other day dancing with a friend and the caption was “just dancing with my sister” you know she posted that to hurt Melanie after the documentary came out. The way her and husband said Miranda’s family didn’t like him because he was black, so they cut her family off. You can tell her parents are genuine people who aren’t like that and it’s so sad.
Maybe the parents learned their lesson with what they did with Miranda’s husband. Like they’d do that to their other daughter too and risk another no contact? Plus, Melanie’s husband is wealthy.

But Robert has been pulling stunts like this since the early 2000s. He took half their revenue, brainwashed them to believe that he himself is blessed by god and therefore he used that power to his advantage making very high profit off them, and sexually assaulting and exploiting quite literally all the females. He has them convinced that they are sinners unless they have his blessing. If they try to leave he has them convinced that they will automatically go to hell and be sinners. So he has them under his full control unless they realize it themselves.

The way cults work is that they cut lure you in, cut you off from anyone in your old life, and make you feel you need to stay with the cult. Of course she wants to stay with the cult right now. She doesn’t have the ability to understand she has been psychologically manipulated overtime and stripped of herself. She is a victim of psychological manipulation. This means she does not have the ability to be able to truly understand her actions or their consequences . The documentary covered a lot, but only she and God knows what other type of abuse she is facing Under the hands of Robert and Shekainah church. You could be right, she may like the attention, but what she can’t see and have, is a choice of whether she wants that attention in the way that it’s been thrust upon her. Through the evidence in the documentary, it was really compelling evidence to brainwash and control. We need to have compassion for the victims like Miranda. Robert is the true villain here. Along with anyone else related to 7m and Shekinah church.

My sister is in a church related cult in NC and I don’t talk to her at all. She has to obey her abusive husband. She too gives all her money to the church. I lived with her in NC for two months and I had to move because it was so weird. They would have groups of people over and talk in tongues.

I’m also disgusted with the police department. One went to the police to file a sexual assault complaint and was told, “get more victims” so we can do something. So ONE victim isn’t enough for them to do anything? That is the most absurd and obtuse answer I’ve ever heard!
I think it’s because there’s been cases of people lying about SA. If police just believed every single person that accused someone of SA, there would be a lot of innocent people who just had someone who hates them throw them in jail. If there’s someone with multiple accusations, it’s less likely that it’s a case of someone trying to slander them. It’s still possible a group of people can get together and lie about it, but it’s less likely than just one person doing it. If there’s someone to blame, blame the people that try to abuse the police system. People lying about this kind of stuff is the reason police can’t just believe anyone that comes forward. It’s a hard truth pill to swallow, but an important truth nonetheless. The people that get falsely accused have equal rights to people that have been SA’ed. The world is evil, we just have to do our best to navigate it :/
@@Akikihalo1 yes, people lie. This is why the police are obligated to investigate. This is also why it goes to court so the allegation can either be proven or not. It cant be arbitrarily ignored by the police based on the percentage of people that lie. Especially when it’s a serious offence.
The whole cutting family off thing is a classic cult/abuse signifier. Hell, even Connexions had Ruby Franke cut off any family member that wasn't part of Connexions. Many people have family members that aren't in the same religion as them. Churches don't require people to cut off ties with family just cos of that.That's not how religion works. I remember watching that video of Melanie and her parents talking about Maddie back in 2022. I'm glad that they made a documentary about it but I'm sad that they haven't been able to get her back.
I have been following Miranda and other dancers for years before the 2021- 2022 scandal between Miranda, James, and her family. It was all over social media. Didn't think much of it at the time but after Dancing for the Devil I'm waiting to see how this all plays out.

I remember going to a prayer retreat once with my friend. It was so peaceful and we were fasting and all. And let me tell you in environment like that you can be easily be brainwashed,the pastor/leader seems heavenly,we see no flaws in them. When we were there,my friend's dog died and she was crying hysterically (me too) and the pastor didn't let us go back home. He said "this is a temptation from the devil" and we believed it and didn't went. Also he was always so touchy. I hate people touching me but I was telling myself there that I shouldn't think like that. It was after I came back home and after some few months,i realised how easily we get brainwashed in situation like this Made me realise how people in cults become so puppet like.

Situations like this are so terrifying and heartbreaking. I feel like when people think of cults, they default to ones like Heaven's Gate, Jonestown, or the Manson Family. Without realizing that as society evolves (in some aspects), so too do criminals. Imo, cults and cult leaders are more modernized as time goes on. Nowadays, they can look drastically different on the surface apart from cults back in the day. But will hit all the same notes as those aforementioned cults from before. Charismatic leaders who are obsessed with control and power. Preying on peoples insecurities and/or faiths to manipulate them into surrendering any form of free thought, independence, and individualism. To the point where the followers can't make basic decisions without permission from the leader or higher ups. They're isolated from their family and friends, until their whole world revolves around the cult and the leaders teachings without any outside interference. While said leaders reap in the benefits from controlling their followers, which is usually some form of power, sex, money, or a combination of those. Just because an organization doesn't have their followers live in shit sheds or tents, or planning to commit mass harm to themselves or others, doesn't mean it can't be a cult. I truly truly hope Miranda's family, as well as the loved ones from the other victims, are able to get through to them and help them. It can be such a legal nightmare, and the delicate balance of someone being brainwashed versus deprogramming them can be tense. This needs as much exposure as possible.
