If you get some kid to listen to free bird he’d probably recognize it as the spinning rat song so he is technically right, free bird is (from the audience watching this) more commonly known as the song from the spinning rat meme. Also he’s just saying that the sound is fucking popular on tiktok, no shit it’s not a tiktok song. Im so fed up by seeing EVERYONE attack this guy in his own comment sections
@@Baldchoppa ngl bro i genuinely forgot about this video and my reply. You're correct, but I don't think what I or the people I replied to said was insulting enough to warrant this response. The way I see it, he meant this lightheartedly to relate to his audience, and said audience is taking jabs at that. We aren't attacking him, but we're attacking the very notion that someone would recognize this as the "spinning rat song."
@@armando6169 Its easy to learn each individual riff in the solo. The solo is. basically a bunch of blues riffs all tied together. That being said, being able to seamlessly transition between all of the licks for 5 min straight is the hard part.
Learn it lick by lick, and practice the transitions between them. This is how you should learn any long or complex songs, bit by bit until you get it implanted into your brain.
Little Barrie is brilliant. Barrie Cadogan is currently the most proficient rock guitar player in the world. Go listen to their “King of the Waves” album. It’s incredible.
Not necessarily hard just need to be precise for it to sound right and it’s long so a bit of room for error but I’ve never thought it was specifically hard though

I’m starting to notice that he only picks simple or moderately difficult riffs and shares opinions about them being “harder than they seem”. My assumption is that he’s playing into the unpopular opinions algorithm hack and exploiting the naivety of viewers to appear more knowledgeable about guitar than he actually is. If this is the case, it’s very smart and obviously working and I hope it continues to bring him success
I think you nailed it. He's a reasonably decent player, but continually spews some very dubious information, actually hilighting his lack of actual knowledge to anyone who knows otherwise.
What is harder about free bird, is that this solo is basically at least 2 or more guitars playing at the same time. I still am amazed that they remember this solo almost note to note somehow
im pretty sure the original recording Allen Collins uses the same recording and just layered them for that sound. Thats why the live performances when he plays freebird something sounds like it is missing.
