Definitely a manic episode. My friend had one and had a very similar train of thought-she believed the CIA had sent people to follow her and try to kidnap her, and she had to uncover the conspiracy herself. Hearing him talk, the “delusion of grandeur” that he’s at the head of this investigation…it all seems like that, and I hope he gets the help he needs.
@@nowirehangers2815 eh, psychosis can be a part of mania. All depends on how severe it is. Concidering he was talking about getting little to no sleep to, if he was tettering on psychosis that might have been the final drop.
I’m a licensed therapist and the whole time I was watching this I kept thinking “kinda seems like this man is having a manic episode and convinced himself this is real” and then bam, the PI said it for me.
People feel so comfortable scamming and lying. Does no one have a conscience? Or even sympathies? I worked myself to the point of burnout and quitting because I was a people pleaser and couldn’t say “no”. I would feel immense guilt to call in even if I had valid reason. I just can’t imagine being thoughtless and careless. (Would be nice sometimes tho 👀 )
this is unsolicited advice so take it how you want: learn how to slack off at work lol seriously. i used to be the person who gave 120% until i had a coworker/supervisor who could see that, and was like hey. you do not need to burn yourself out like this. he would make me practice halfway doing tasks (nothing important, i was sweeping the patio at a bar lol). i hope you find someone like that, so you can devote that energy to people and hobbies you truly enjoy. i can't say shit though, my life ain't that Hot lol. but yeah, try it sometime. idk your job but maybe just one day try giving 90%, see how little anyone notices. (not on important shit though, i always give 100% when it comes to food and beverage safety. but that cigarette butt that's wedged under that 70lb picnic table can wait lol)
I so believe that there are people that are offering people free rides in order to extort them and do other illegal activities but I don't think that there are enough of them working together to be considered a criminal ring
There’s quite a few young white men that have been found in the river and the lake in Chicago. There’s definitely something going on. It’s not just as simple as people getting drunk and randomly falling in the lake.
@@SonTerrific maybe, but correlation DNE causation- "white" is an extremely broad description, and men are far more likely to walk alone and/or drunk rather than in groups that could help them if anything went wrong. it can only take a split second to irreversibly condemn yourself to death by misadventure, accidents claim a LOT of lives
@Yvon Q. I agree, however, just because it isn’t something that typically happens, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It may not be an organized ring, but it’s possible it’s a copycat style of killing. Again, not all of the times a young white male is found dead in the river is due to murder. But I’m sure there’s a percentage involving foul play.
He should have just said he theorizing. Make it blatantly clear that he was theorizing. But, I understand the drug of clout coupled with paranoia. Although, this guy just seems smug. And oddly oblivious. And suspicious.
Pretty sure his job was to just promote the app in any way possible and this is what he came up with. This isn’t new he just got caught, we are being lied to and manipulated constantly.
He just looks annoying. Like that one kid in class who always wants something but never gives back. The kid who asks the teacher to give out homework. "Do you have games on your phone" kid.
okay after watching this whole video i’m going to type out what happened in my experience with the gypsy cabs. I moved between the west and south loop fall this past year. I was leaving my apartment later at night via uber to stay at a friend’s instead and I was waiting on the side of the street outside my apartment building waiting for said uber. While I was standing a white/grey colored van slowed down next to me and rolled down the windows asking if I wanted a ride. After I declined the man in the car (he was alone, looked to be late 20s/early thirty’s ethnic white) then attempted to offer me drugs as a lure to get me in the car. I also declined this offer and he attempted to make small talk with me about why I “don’t do drugs”. I was holding a bag and was armed with pepper spray and a knife, but due to stress of the situation I froze and forgot I had these items on me. I lied to the man and said I don’t do drugs because im military (i am not and yes I know this is wrong) and then gestured to my bag as if i had an armed weapon to bluff the man. He then came up with an excuse to leave immediately and sped off. My uber came about 30 seconds later. He’s overdoing it but it is a real problem happening in chicago.
It's not like you were "stealing valor" for your own personal gain. It was to protect yourself. Make up whatever lie you have to in the moment to stay safe
@@msjkramey seconding this!!! that ain't stolen valor, imo. i am not a vet so i could be wrong, but i know several and i'm pretty sure they'd agree. you gotta say what you gotta say to keep yourself safe, it's absolutely not the same as taking benefits away from vets.
@@msjkramey of course it was personal gain, it protected them! Frankly I think they should have the book thrown at them. Joking. I’m retired army and what you did was smart. Hopefully you don’t need to use it as an excuse again but just FYI: you wouldn’t have any issued weapons in your bag. We don’t just carry them everywhere unless you’re deployed and in a war zone. Weapons are all locked up in secure vaults controlled by the unit armorer. If a weapon gets lost the entire base goes on lockdown and no one can leave or enter until it’s found. What you did was fine, it’s stolen valor when it’s someone in a uniform displaying medals they didn’t earn and using the uniform for personal gain, like getting a military discount, first class plane upgrade, trying to coax someone using the uniform, etc. Glad you’re still here and nothing bad happened.
@@jsbzoh6 to be fair, an average civilian wouldn't know that. i would personally assume that if someone says 'i'm military' and gestures at their bag, they probably have a concealed carry license (if that's still required in your state lol) or some form of self protection. you got me in the first half though i thought you were gonna yell at her 😭😭
I had a similar experience with having to lie to save myself. I was on my way home from work and stopped at the store to get something for dinner. When I got back to my car a guy about my age walked up and asked me for a ride. I ask where too and he says the name of the town I was living in. I said sure because he seemed normal enough and I used to hitch rides myself. He gets in the car and then after we are driving for awhile he won't tell me exactly where he wants to get dropped off. When we get close to town he says he needs a ride further north out of town the opppsite direction of my house, I say "no, you can get out of my car right here" He then threatened me saying "what if just punch you in the face" I just looked at him with a little smirk and said "that's exactly why I just got my concealed carry permit" He suddenly got a lot more friendly, said thanks and got out of the car. I don't even own a gun.
Did he really scam a family with a missing son? Idk if I can hear the rest of this video without inducing blind rage. Aww shit, of course I’m going to watch this.
Off topic but was curious if you are going to cover the recent iillumanughtii things. A lot came out about that creator lately. I would love to see your take on it and your views.
The guy claimed that he had to give up on the case because he was burning himself out and totally exhausting himself! Look at the jerk’s face, no bags under the eyes, no fatigue lines, nothing!!
I walked home from the bar approximately 700 times and still have yet to be offered a single ride home. Ive walked hone blacked out, through fields… Im still well and alive. I also never been pulled over the numerous times i walked home with stolen goods from a)the bar or b) a construction site I happened to walk by 😂
your custom background is really cool! however I noticed immediately because the last road rug was nostalgic of when i was a little lady play "town" out of legos and nascars with my brother on that exact rug. Great video, and cool background.. But I just wanted you to know the reason I loved your videos orginally and subbed was that nostalgic background. Still here, not going anywhere. Love the new one, sad that that era of atozy is gone tho, been waiting for the iconic return of ur rug.
I'm kinda baffled as to why he didn't add a feature to his app where people can share experiences like, idk, almost getting kidnapped? Seeing as how it's a travel planning app? I thought that's where this all was going, but nope. Lol
ive been offered a ride in a very sketchy way when i was just outside a bar, leaving while alone & late out night. it was obviously sketch and i said no.. my point in saying this isnt to say that i think its connected to some huge kidnapping/murder ring, and that i almost got got, its to say that there are crazy people out there who want to hurt people and offering alone and vulnerable people by themselves late at night seems like a pretty simple, obvious method of enacting that and is probably utilized all over by different, totally unrelated people.
@@shanehiggins4983 even if that's true he has definitely derailed some investigations in one way or another by going crazy like this because of the amount of views this got. Causing harm to families. Maybe he did go to the police station. Hell he did really try to get on the news. So that's a mystery. But he put himself into this investigation and talked about stuff in detail that he shouldn't have. Especially making that map and getting in contact with victims and victims families. He still deserves jail 100%
I think it’s pointless. I’d get being sued and giving the money earned to families or whatever, idk what they’d sue for bc I’m not a lawyer, but jail time just seems like all it does is cost taxpayers money and doesn’t help anyone at all. I mean, it’s not like he’ll do this again after losing his job which is probably punishment enough, it’s also not like he’s a danger to himself or others. Just a liar, tons of them around.
@@user-sf9gs2pg1b tax payers pay for the whole system not just one person. You would pay for it even if he wasn't in jail. This has to be considered a crime in one way or another. Going to jail is different than prison. And of course I'm not saying life in prison. Just a reasonable amount of jail time to get it through his head that what he did was bad because honestly we don't know if he actually lost his job or even lost any money because he is a co founder. The families directly involved can sue him for stealing because he did take money from a grieving family and then not show up to the meeting so he scammed them. Giving false misleading information publicly like this does deserve jail time. Hell people who licked ice cream at a Walmart and put it back on the shelf got charged. A RU-vid prank family was charged for trespassing doing a 24hr hidden inside a store video. Clout chasers should be faced with penalties like jail time, community service and fines. ESPECIALLY these tik tok crime "investigators" this guy and the psychic lady definitely caused problems and deserve punishment.
@Tegan- lynn I don't think our two statements are mutually exclusive to each other to be honest, but if they did choose to believe his very obvious lies, that's gotta at least be partially on the police loll
A big lie, about making a number of unrelated deaths a conspiracy, involving grieving relatives just to promote an app? Just sick and sociopathic to the core!
4:43 "im a passionate guy" *while rubbing his nose* You can see it in his body language that no matter how delusional he is, he knows very well he's lying to his audience.
His speech patterns and general demeanor remind me of the hysteria of the 2016 political conspiracy culture. The line between mania and grift can get so blurred I hope he gets the help he needs
Dude always gave me the creeps. Had all this business knowledge and worked at all these high level jobs and made so much money but lived with his parents.
It's kind of weird that he plays it off as "uh let's not focus on me but rather lets discuss these newfangled ethics on the internet. Who knew this could be a bad thing to do?" If he's the marketing chief then he had to have known that was inappropriate and it's not like the company tricked him into doing it.
I know he did bad things but am I the only one who believes he seems genuinely sorry? Some have been sharing they feel he was experiencing a manic episode and it does seem fairly consistent especially with the way he was coming off of it like he had no idea what he was thinking. I also feel like the company he was with is absolutely just taking advantage of him. But I also tend to believe people a little too easily soo...
Im obsessed with this only cause i want to disown him faster than chicago did r.kelly So does anyone know how to describe the urge to fight someone cause nathinf else will suffice. Maybe he is delusional, but its giving scam. I want to challenge this man to a duel on the lake front using a homelessman glove. He just seems so fragile.
"My employer"??? Bro, i thought he was a founder! If you are a founder, that company wasn't your employer but your company... Unless you didn't own any part of the company because then you aren't really a founder...
Someone should start researching social clout and study the effects on how it can change an individual. They could rack in millions from government funds.
Tbh the company ditching him was not a bad idea at all for the company itself.. No one is gonna go to a company with the face of someone who fabricated a traumatic experience, lied about being apart of the FBI basically which is a felony, etc.. So they’re making the same moves any other company would do.. The things he did were not small and the world would be upset if they said they didn’t give a fuck n let him stay anyway.. In any company, if you do something major, you’re gonna get removed
I would never, ever invest with someone who described his product as"it's cool" and used all the buzzwords that pushed my buttons. Someone on tiktok lying? Say it isn't so Joe😮😅
i just got done watching that 30 minute video to see this was just uploaded lol. getting tired of that guys voice :p Altho i must still watch because i love your videos atozy :)
I agree with atozy that this looks worse for the start up. What the guy did was awful but I can’t jump to a conclusion he fabricated this story entirely without more evidence. Targeting drunk people for sinister things is so incredibly common, it’s just mostly for robbery and the other r word
I fully believe the company had input in what he was doing, they just were smart enough to see that any backlash they were getting was coming in from the backlash against him. So instead of having the project sink and fail, they cut out the main source for the backlash they were getting which was this TikTok wannabe investigator. He can corporate speak all he wants, but once those who don't know how to bullshit well see your bullshit, everything will look and sound like bullshit (which corporate speak is just a nice way of bullshitting to begin with, he just sucks at it). Edit: No doubt he would still have some kind of investment in the company he was involved with.
He says he never wanted to involve the app but ommpaville had a clip in his video on this topic where he said he was going to put stuff relating to the “case” onto the app’s calendar or map. I really don’t like this guy the way he smiles in every video before it went wrong freaks me out.
Isn't his an entire theory based on a creepy pasta? I remember seeing a video regarding a smiley face gang or some shiz like that that killed white young males.
Man youtube hates your videos, ALWAYS a flickering grey bar at the bottom then when the Ads play, it constantly flickers in the grey bar once it is done playing. It doesn't happen on any other channels and it's been contant now here. Even paused and watched from recently watched and still there with the Ad. I took a screenshot.
