Ordered some MREs from Europe. Legally. They got held up in US Customs for inspection. They opened the box and then opened the individual MREs, removed their contents and inspected them before putting everything back neatly. They didn't take anything. It does show Customs WILL check packages. Doesn't matter how thick, or strong, the packaging is, or how harmless the contents are. They WILL open it.

You can tell that his lawyer(s) told him not to say any of the stuff he said, and he did it anyway. Definitely don't take any advice from him. He is banking on it taking years to go to trial. Nike is asking for a summary judgment, which means no trial. Basically, they are saying they have so much evidence (they do because he recorded and posted everything) that a trial isn't necessary. Not only that, but these are expensive Nike lawyers, and part of the judgment is that he has to pay their legal fees.

Why is he ac ting as if knock-offs are a viable, legal option to just buying the brands one can actually afford? His whole argument about how he only intends to wear each pair once or twice proves he IS obsessed with brands and image. Buy shoes that fit your proce range, plan to wear them more than twice. Does that sound like some sort of insane hardship in a world where so many people actually go to bed hungry, if they even HAVE a bed? so here is a fun tip how to get actual good stuff for relatively cheap: Look for places that sell second hand clothes or, what we call in Germany "B-ware", which is just brand new stuff that didn't make it through quality control within the production somewhere due to a small (most of the time minor cosmetic) flaw. I actually work at a store that sells things like that and while we don't get luxury brands, we get pretty decent stuff sometimes. Some people even come in to donate their big brand things they barely even wore. Also, companies like Tom Tailor donate their brand new shoes to us on a regular basis and we also sold some very high quality toys once (some Baby Born that had just come out, we even have a few Barbies!) There are legal ways to obtain original, good brand clothes for a fraction of the original cost is what I am trying to say. You just need to put some effort in and look around your local thrift/second hand stores or find out where you can buy "B-ware" or maybe even go and look for warehouse deals (stuff that was bought online and then returned so it can't be sold as new anymore)

I've worked with Customs, they are more likely to open an overly well wrapped package. They get flagged as possible attempt to conceal. Also certainly in Europe the postal services do not employ minimum wage people to check items coming in, these are trained customs officers, we also have sniffer dogs on site too.

Customs absolutely doesn't give a shyt about how well the packaging is done. Putting the package back together after its sliced open for inspection is the least of a customs officer concerned. Now, i have no idea if that's true, but I'm not the one getting sued.
