She made the mistake of posting this on the internet, trying to expose someone for something he isn't. Now the Internet will go out of their way to identify this woman and slam her work with calls. Her next meeting won't be the greatest.
I drive limos. I've become accustomed to, 'don't speak unless you're spoken to'.. and even then, keep it to a minimum. Everybody's living in 'critical mode,' and it's just not worth losing your job; trying to converse with people nowadays. That lady is a perfect example of victim mentality; taken to a whole new level.
It's sad. Even if I don't agree with what they say, I still try to have a low-level conversation with my driver. Are we supposed to treat everyone like a robot-on-duty now?
back in the early 2000's my friends and I would rent Limos for St.Patrick's day and New Years eve. We would always talk to the drivers. but back in those days the smart phone wasn't a thing
People love making themselves the victims and instead make themselves look bad. It’s annoying, especially since we know the guy didn’t mean anything by it.
Everything about her is a huge red flag. I feel sorry for anyone who associates with her. She has showed millions of people what a coward she really is.
I, as a black woman from the US south, don’t think this was racism. But it was a missed opportunity to teach someone (who obviously wanted to learn) about her culture.
this lady in the video is one of those typical, exemplary, oh so very poor self-victimizers, looking to be offended at the slightest of misunderstandings, just so they can create click-baity buzz to garner the attention of social forces on the internet over to her defense and protection. cream of the weakest SJW crop. nothing like the black people of the American south that endured the harshest treatment through a civil rights era, nor those that rose from the same regions to find amazing success in some of the best industries our country has to offer. sjw's like her are constantly taking attention from truer victims of discrimination and just fanning nonsense so they can grift for a penny's worth of attention. she doesn't have to be in a place where she doesnt feel welcomed or opened to. if I went to vietnam, india, england, china and many other places where the average person is far different from me, or even in the US where there are people from EVERYWHERE, I am certain to feel the same way she does but I'd understand that it's likely the majority of people there have never seen anyone like me. if she really feels like she's reading between the lines then she should go with her feelings and just leave where she is at that time and never come back. just shows how ignorant she herself is, while painting herself to be some holier than thou SJW lunatic. I feel bad for this uber driver because the level of princely privilege she displays is out of this world. I thank tik tok for yet another garbage moment in history
Being black doesn’t mean anything here, American blacks always think we care. Racism exists everywhere and not exclusive to black kneeeeeeeeeee gr000000000000000000wz
My god, she's an insecure one. 'Where are you from' is far better than assuming. It's a common icebreaker to talk about your hometown and share stories of your experiences. Either she's made it her goal to get someone fired, or the paranoia of being victimized is killing her.
These people would lose their tiny little minds if they went abroad. "Where are you from?" Is the most common question I get asked. Go to Vietnam and they'll yell "Hey Joe!" at anyone who's white because they automatically think you're American 😂
No one and I mean NO ONE ever guesses where I'm from.. it's like my country doesn't exist.. if I was insulted by it, I would cry and bitch 24/7/365.. 😂
@@ladaijamonet He only said she looked LIKE HIS WIFE 💀. And again, he was trying to find out if the girl in the video is from the same country as his wife.
This woman is a bully. I almost teared up listening to that poor man begging for mercy. She’s content farming, and she doesn’t care if she hurts people in the process. She’s an absolute garbage person.
Plus he was extremely polite and nice, meanwhile she wasn't. Like turn of the video and get out. He said litterly nothing wrong, yet she's the victim 🙄😒and afraid for her life. Smh.
If her intentions were to get the driver fired, I put the energy out there that she loses her source of income or if she’s in school, her schooling. Whoever represents her should drop her.
don't youmjust love the line she came out with " im not going to report you to your company " then as soon as shes out the so called tears start running then post on Tik Tok and play the victim
I’m a Scandinavian living in London, but because I have brown eyes and brown hair people never guess I’m from Scandinavia. They can’t pinpoint my accent, and my looks don’t necessarily match my accent either, so it’s confusing, especially in a multicultural city like London. I guess I should be offended by people asking me where I am from and thinking I’m Mediterranean, French, Eastern European, South American…Guess what, I have NEVER been offended. It’s a great conversation starter and shows you people take interest in your life.
Eyes, mouths, facial structure - you can still get it wrong going by that. While some people look very classical/typical for their region, others don't as much. It's not without a reason that east Asians themselves often get it wrong (if they don't hear someone speak).
My mum is Asian, my dad is Caucasian. I can't tell if someone is Chinese, Vietnamese or Korean from looking at them. My dad calls my mum 'my china' (as in friend) and when he sees other Asian people he says to my mum "oh look, cousins" and she laughs. He's not racist in the slightest, nor is any of my family. This woman is overly sensitive
You can not have racist feelings and still say racist things... just like your dad did by saying that - it is a racist thing to say. Im half asain too and my dad is the same way. They kind of get a pass (not really if it's in public) because they are old and set in their ways, but you amd younger generations should know better.
I have a very tan complexion and a lot of people often assume that I'm Middle Eastern because apparently the color of my skin looks Middle Eastern but I kindly and I mean kindly tell them that I'm actually Mexican and Native American. Never in my life have I ever reacted like this. My mother made sure that I never had a victim mentality like this because she said it makes you look like a complete idiot. It would be until years later I found out from my paternal grandfather that theres Afghan blood in me. Maybe that explains why people assume I'm Middle Eastern but I would never have acted like this crazy woman.
Context and intent is everything. Yes some people do say, “All (insert group) look alike to be hurtful. I can understand if she got triggered if she has been told that repeatedly in the past, but once she explained how she felt and heard his sincere apology, she should have let it go. Recording the interaction and posting it online makes her look like the bully.
As an Asian myself, this is NOT RACIST. This woman is too sensitive but she doesn't speak for the Asian masses. Asian people DO look alike. Hell, I thought she was Akwafina, who is Chinese. This girl is Vietnamese? She legit looks Chinese, Thai or Filipino, am I now racist for assuming that? Shut up with the crocodile tears and the "I'm actually raging" act and go outside and experience life like an adult.
It's really no different than trying to guess where someone is from based on their accent which people especially drivers have been doing for decades. This woman is the problem and anyone else that takes issue with this is the problem. You can't even talk to people anymore because someone will take things the wrong way and that's sad because in 2023 people talk less and less when we need to be talking more. Very sad. Of course she posted this to the internet because she wanted the views, the likes and for many people to feed her own ego but I'm glad she got a huge surprise.
This is why I can’t stand people anymore….I was that way before it got bad and everyone was always talking sh*t about me but LOOK WHO WAS THE ONE WHO WAS RIGHT!!
It looks like she is power tripping off this man’s worry about offending her. After he apologized she kept trying to gaslight him further. I have had people try to guess my background but I never got offended or brought to tears over it. Instead I just educate them, smile, ask about their background and carry on with my day.
NGL, Koreans and Chinese folk BOTH have EXTREMELY similar (note how I used "similar" and not "identical" here) facial structures, and that's a biologically proven fact so that mistake-just making it in general-cannot even come CLOSE to being considered racist. In fact, if we're being statistic asf the CLOSEST thing to any significant differentiation between the two (don't quote me here, I'm going off of my own experience so feel free to correct me if you have a more substantial example to offer) is in the languages they speak -- the literal dialect alone as a damn fine reference to that. Visually they are too similar to just rightly jump to this conclusion, and the fact that he's even apologizing for just coming off that way makes him 100% in the right here.
Japanese and Korean are alps easy to mistake coming from their respective countries. I've seen east Asian people try to guess the country of a mix of people from China, Korea, and Japan. And guess what? They got a lot of them wrong, too. As a white European, the same could happen to me if I had to guess where other Europeans with similar complexions come from. It's really not that deep.
It really bothers me, when people say that they don't feel comfortable in the presence of whomever they are offended by, instead of discussing her grievance. People today are extremely sensitive, as well as desperate to get views on their whatever channel. Also, she says that she is not going to say anything to the company, thinking full well, that when people take her side, they will do her dirty work and ruin this mans life.
I actually did drive for Uber & lyft but moved on & am so glad I didn't have to put up with this type of BS, If i had encountered one like her, I would have preemptively called Uber with dashcam video evidence right after she got out of the car to cover my a$S, I really hope he didn't get deactivated over this, poor guy. Driver's, always get a dashcam that records both inside & outside so your covered, most already know this but you never know 🤷🏼♀️
A lot of white people look the same, a lot of people of similar races look the same. I'm sure everyone could find an identical stranger if they had the right resources. I don't think the guy's racist (though I'm not Asian) I think he just likes to learn what people from other countries look like. I do too. Most people don't know about Kazakhstan for example, much less that they look asian, it's my hobby to learn what their language sounds like and what their culture is like. (Among other countries and languages)
Accusing her of being from a specific place couldve been offensive. Inquiring .... Was literally to avoid being offensive, and out of true curiosity. It was small talk ...
Unbelievable beach.. I've never been insulted by people assuming I'm from another country.. They go through english speaking countries and European countries.. American, british, german, swede, estonian.. the list goes on, never finnish.. 😎
If you stood a British dude, Caucasian Australian dude, Irish dude and Caucasian American dude next to each other, it would be pure luck if I could get every one of their origins 100% accurate. People from certain regions do typically look very similar and while there are differences, with people being mixed these days it gets even harder to accurately pinpoint. I get there's a history with Asians being told they all look the same; but come on, there's gotta be a line.
That's like somebody asking me where I'm from, and I say Jamaica and they say " My wife is from the Bahamas I thought you were from there" and I say "You racist bastard!" She's being more racist being offended for being confused by someone else who is of Asian descent.
Does anyone find it weird that asking an Asian person where they're from is so taboo. But asking a black person, Latino person, white person it's no big deal. If I met another black person and assumed they were a regular black too and they told me they were Nigerian or something who cares. You see a white guy in a La Liga jersey and assume he's Spanish and he's from somewhere else and its nothing. But if you ask a Chinese person if they're Korean or something it's a thing. You can't control what people take offense to. But it just really stands out to me.
Honestly despise these kind of people. Instead of appreciating his genuine apology, she uses it as validation for her to act even more victimised. Had he not apologised and just shrugged her off she wouldn't have leveld up her victimhood and just walked on. Trash fake people.
People are waaaay too sensitive today & they go out of their way to be _”offended”._ She needs to get a grip! This isn’t a big deal! It was casual conversation…he clearly didn’t mean to offend anyone. Trust me, you’ll know if it was meant to be! She keeps saying she didn’t feel comfortable nor safe remaining in his car, yet she stuck around long enough to record him scrambling the words to apologize. Lady, if you were _truly_ scared, you would have bolted out of that car the moment it came to a stop! The fact that you stuck around to record it is borderline sadistic behavior. Finally, I’m a CBC & I can tell you right now, a lot of oriental Asians do look the same to me & I have commented on numerous occasions that _“damn, even I can’t tell them apart!”_ (And an eruption of laughter comes afterwards!) I was the only Asian in this particular class (circa 2008) & the instructors all apologize to me before they show some funny clip or meme…& I end up laughing harder than all of them. It actually looked like all eyes were on me before they reacted, so as to not offend. I don’t get offended easily & definitely not over such trivial things…& it is funny a lot of times! Understand that most people are not trying to offend you. Yes, racism does exist & overt racist acts against Asians have increased in light of 2020, but relax!
There should be mandatory intelligence, personality and psychiatric testing before you can use TikTok. No. Wait. Before you can even access the internet. No. Wait. Before you're allowed to interact with any other humans without a chaperone.
She cried because He thought she looked like his wife? Holy moly even here in Brazil we non-indigenous have difficulties knowing which indigenous are which because they all look alike, their language are exclusive and complex between them and the way to know is asking which nation they are from
A lady after overhearing my son and I talking the other day asked us what part of London we are from. We just politely told her we were from Portsmouth. We didn't act stupid over being misidentified. London and Portsmouth accents are very similar the same as Asian folks look similar from different countries. Be polite then move on, job done.
That poor man is never going to want to have a conversation with a client again. I don't believe people anymore when they call others racist, transphobic, bigoted or anything else, they just want to play victim.
She’s racist to think that what he said is racist- why would she be offended?? I travel for work and I get asked all the time if I’m Indian or Mexican or mixed - etc, and I don’t get offended at all. Why would I?? I have dark brown skin, dreads, a nose ring, and I wear clothes from all over the world. Once I tell them I am a Chinese medicine doctor they really get confused. I always tell people to guess or ask me questions to try to make it fun. But that’s me, offensive would be to not let me into the uber car because of the way I looked now that might be racist - even then I can’t assume 😊 can we please be more forgiving and open minded geeeez. Huge difference between curious vs racist - let’s use our 🧠 people!
