In their minds, everything exists online, but they are sadly missing out on everything in the real world, how could we capture everything in our reality through a medium, when the reality we exist in is seemingly infinite. All the cool things you see just being outside of your house, even the annoying things, are better than sitting in a box all day, having no purpose on this earth. A lot of these people are faithless and or atheist too, so the depression life is pointless talking points come from here.

My life was already almost a medieval cloister even before the lock-down. I did not want all the world live it as I knew most of people who were unused to this, would trivalize it and make it common and, worse than ever, romantic and pleasant. No, it was. I had always had poor social skills but I was happy to get out home to buy things for my house, for me and to walk with my dog. But, under lock-down, some places were forbidden to go, you could not seat on some benches in the street. In shops, you've got to wear that awful masks and if you had to sneeze or something, people could stare at you as if you were the very bringer of the pest itself. It was not pleasant. If there are people who want those bad times again, they're completely out of brain. By the way, once, some years ago, there were a hikikomori clinique here in Italy, but, for some unknown reasons, they closed it, even if, just after Japan, Italy hosts the biggest number of hikikomori. There were some psychologist working for their health and they were there to help them get out of this unhealthy circle. But I think that the "enemy", if you want to find one, is the one who gains from this collective and planetary torture we've all been under. It was as to live in a cage and other people's eyes were there to spoil you, your gestures, the distance between you and others and even shaking hands and embraces were forbidden. We were forced to use that elbow thing I really hate. And, by the way, I lost both my Grandmother and Mother during pandemic: they both deserved a better funeral, not just a "put the corpse in the coffin and burn it up!". It was not pleasant, not at all. And one of my relative think that the vaccine killed one of them. I like that cup, but I don't think anyone would understant its meaning down here. ;-)

Having not lost a day of work (food industry,) during the clown show...the freeways were much more fun to drive on for several months. But I don't think most people did so well for having dropped out of their day to day lives; witness the meltdowns over the last several years. Also, children were so poorly taken care of because of this idiocy. Not worth it really.

Three people (age range: 28-57) in my immediate family contracted COVID-19 (confirmed by a test). None of them became seriously ill. • I don’t know anyone who has died, nor do I know anyone who knows anyone who has died from COVID-19 or died with COVID-19. • So when Misha tells us having COVID-19 is really bad, I wonder if she has firsthand knowledge of this or if she’s just reciting the obligatory remarks to show she’s part of the mainstream. • My guess is she’s engaged in the latter.

I had to work through all of lockdown so it was just another day for me. But then I found it was very hard to get food anymore. There were times we went hungry because all the stores around me were bare. Then my son who was 2-3 at the time had severe issues that he's still battling with because he didn't understand why no family or friends wanted to see him (wasn't that they didn't want to it was that they couldnt) and he never got to develop social skills at rhw most crucial time in his development and it was a downhill slide from there socially. And let's not forget the economic and supply chain issues we are still feeling today.

Luckily we reassured her in the beauty of femininity. PS my town pretty much did nothing about the lockdowns, most places gave up on mask mandates 6-12 months in. Only thing was watching my friends in healthcare/childcare lose their livelihood because they refused to be test dummies.

May be an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoyed the lockdown... for about the first two weeks. There was just too much going on for me right before it happened, and having a break too do things around the house and just chill out was nice. After that, it was awful. I think American society has a bit too much of a workaholic mentality, and we need to let people take a bit more time off. But that doesn't mean we should have another lockdown, hell we never should've had the one in 2020. It ruined the economy (and people's livelihoods), it set children back developmentally, it turned people into hypochondriacs, and generally stole years of time from the people who went through it.
@noxplay4906
@noxplay4906 Месяц назад
See that was a part of the plan though. People like that are easier for the state to control, why would they not do it if it benefits them? Us being weak hypochondriacs is exactly what they want. This isn't a conspiracy either you can see historical examples of this such as the British peddling opium to the Chinese, intentional attempts to weaken a population and to make it more susceptible to exploitation. And guess what, in this case, it worked, these people are fine with listening to whatever the government says, that's why they want another lockdown

@@robertbusek30 TELL ME ABOUT IT. New York had snitching hotlines as well. Gretchen Witmer in MI prevented citizens from going out in the lakes on private boats by themselves... which is literally social distancing. Trudeau used every dirty trick in the book to stop the trucker protests, including shutting down their bank accounts. Anthony Fauci was effectively making COVID policy despite having links to the Wuhan lab that likely caused the pandemic. In Europe, you needed vaccine paperwork to travel just about anywhere. Overall, leadership everywhere overstepped their authority to try to control the masses. Truly insane shit we lived through.

This is going to sound weird, and I know I'm an outlier, but being quarantined genuinely saved my life and my relationship with my mother. My mother exhausted herself constantly worrying about doing things and keeping herself busy, and her mental health was in shambles. Then quarantine happened and I was no longer forced to go out (going out gave me severe anxiety and panic) and I was no longer at in-person school (going to school completely destroyed my mental health for a variety of reasons) and that alone saved my life by making me want to live. But then, my mother was forced to stop being busy with all these obligations, and she actually became a nice person and I was able to form a healthy relationship with her. Prior to quarantine I never felt loved by her. To this day we are very close and bonded with each other.

All that says is yall dont know how to be alone with yourselves. Being busy is something people refusing to deal with an internal issue, do. Being forced to stay home forced you to confront these problems.

I live in a small very conservative town. I really don’t feel like ANYTHING changed during the pandemic. All the local stores were open, my husband still went to work everyday. My kids are homeschooled, and the only thing that changed was we couldn’t go to the library. Pretty sure the people who work at the library are the only libs in town lol.

Where I live it was always possible to go to grocery stores and other types of stores (not all though, only those that the government decided were a necessity), even some restaurants though only for takeaway. And we had to use masks. A good thing that came out of it is that many workplaces started allowing the possibility to work from home that stayed even after covid.

It makes me sick to think people want that era back. That was the worst time in my life. It was so stressful and lonely that it made me fucking sick in my mind and then that made me feel physically sick for the whole year. Everyone, even if they’re still alive today, died in some way.

Isolate people from everything that gives them meaning and purpose, other than loyalty and obedience to the state. I'm typically more of a homebody myself, don't really have many friends outside of family to go out and socialize with, and to me lockdown was hell. I was constantly worrying about economic growth halting to a standstill because so many people weren't working their normal routines. These people who want something like that back are not only insane to me, but also potentially dangerous to society.

I'm a wedding minister, and you should've seen the grief of my couples who had planned to marry in 2020 and couldn't, or had to elope with no guests, no party, no fancy dress, and grocery store flowers. Can you imagine planning a wedding for a year or more, then told, "nope! not this year!" Awful. Frustrating. Never again.
@ohkaygoplay
@ohkaygoplay Месяц назад
I can see how long term plans falling through is frustrating. That's valid. You work hard on something, then suddenly can't do it. But they saved themselves from drowning in multiple thousands of dollars worth of debt... unless they put off the wedding to another time, delaying the inevitable.
@revgurley

@@ohkaygoplay They'd already paid, as we vendors require that before the wedding date (been stiffed a few too many times to play that game). Of course, I could do my job, at a distance. But they'd already rented venues, bought dresses, paid caterers. Not sure how many got at least all but the deposit back. I ended up doing 2 weddings for several 2020 couples. Once as an elopement so they could marry on the day they originally chose (some people have a special date, or numbers, that they like), and once a year or more later at a venue as a "vow renewal" since they were already married.

What’s really scary is because it only happened 4 years ago we don’t know what the long term implications on the development of young people around the world will be for a long time. The long term consequences could be completely catastrophic destroying peoples ability to develop social skills and function normally during their formative years of life will effect them for life.

To be honest. The pandemic was bad and good. It was bad because the career I wanted to pursue have to be paused. 3 years. Now I'm doing a career. Now it was good back then because I was always the guy that do not like to go out. During my school summer days, all I did was playing video games all day and all night. Watch movies. I can last a year with this. I'm more introverted than both of you ladies. You want socialize, I dont want it. Healthy or not. I'm already ugly anyway.
